Saw some references on the web to negotiating by faxing out your interest in buying to fleet managers on the last Tuesday of the month. So I got the names and numbers of the fleet managers for all the dealers in So Cal and did that. Turns out the color combo I wanted wasn't available (long story), so I switched to the red and I’m really happy I did. Reds are pretty scarce (they make up only about 5% of the shipment to the region), so I was prepared to maybe have to pay more because of supply and demand. But because I had faxed out the request asking for bids, I still got a great price.
I knew going in that Cars Direct had quoted me $30.5. The lowest price I’d seen on this forum since December was $29.9 from Longo and Westminster. I called Longo (nice guy) and he offered $29.8 on either the black or smoky granite because they had lots and lots in stock. I ended up at Westminster and they had a red one with the features I wanted for just $100 more. The best part of the negotiation was that I really didn’t even have to negotiate – they knew they were competing against the other dealers and wanted to make the sale and came in with that price. Service was really excellent there – it was by far the best car shopping experience I’ve been a part of.
Hope this is useful to all of you shoppers. If you want any info on the people I dealt with or the simple negotiating technique I used, email me at FabiosLC1-stuff@yahoo.com and I’ll get back to you. By the way, love the car!
and does anyone know what happens if i decide to purchase out of state and don't plan on coming in to pick it up... rather i would have it shipped. any input would be great.
btw, i love this forum!
what options?
30.3K is the current offer before TTL at Stevens Creek San Jose. This was the very first offer even before I started negotiating. I mentioned that I know people in the area who can get it for less than 30K yesterday and am still waiting on a response.
Is this a good quote? I wouldn't have to pay taxes since I would be purchasing as an Oregon resident. Any feedback?
I got my in Feb, and a few other guys all got them in March.
I know they have been giving super low prices since Jan.
and I am sure the Color doesn't matter. when I got my IS250,
he pretty much gave me the price 1st, then say pick any color I want. ($30,000) where are you located?
maybe I can help you to get a deal. e-mail me, flashzoom@adelphia.net
Here is what I got from Acura...
$32755 + 255.40 (door guards) + fees and which he dropped it to $29015.40 + fees. They gave me 9k for trade in of my Corolla S '05, with $5000 downpayment, with $550 per month for 60 months. That was thru Honda Financial...they are looking into other banks and/or credit unions.
Help people!!! Personally, I think I should get the IS250 cause that's the one that I really wanted.....Dont know why I'm being so indecisive...sigh.
Stevens Creek San Jose offered me 30200 + TTL
However, I got my car from serramonte at around 29100 + TTL, but no rear spoiler.
Also, can anyone tell me why Carsdirect pricing for CA and OH is so much different. Why does it seem I can purchase this car for less in CA? Carsdirect will not give me a price for an AWD IS250 with a CA zip code and I can't price the AWD with Navigation on carsdirect with an OH zip code. Is is possible to purchase a vehicle in another state than what you live in? Never done it before but I do want this car at the best price I can get.
About to buy my first new car and have my eyes set on a 07 IS 350 with Luxury Package, ML Audio, Nav, 18".
Wanted to see what others have paid so I can haggle with the dealers, or at least not get screwed. Thanks!
basically if your setting is at 80mph. once you reach 80+mph it will light up.
for the techometer, you can set it at 4k rpm or 6k rpm
to remind you when to shift to next gear, if you using the auto stick function.
you can change that setting, it's in the owner's manual.
Thank you for those who have helped me regarding purchasing the IS250 in Hawaii. I am in the process of finalizing everything. I placed a deposit down to place a hold on the car. It's currently enroute to Hawaii on boat. I should probably get it within a few weeks.
Mahalos...

Has anyone test-driven an auto and a manual 250 and can comment about the differences?
I like the look of the 250/350, I think if Lexus would make the 350 with a manual, they'd have a BMW fighter.
MSRP 36552

Is this a good deal?

If you haven't sign any contract yet, then you are good.
you can pretty much just put a stop payment on the check, then you are fine. as long you didn't sign the purchase contract, you can still refuse the car they special order for you when it arrives, simply just tell them you don't want it anymore. there is nothing they can do.
But, if you agreed to a deal, and signed a contract. then that's a different story. Prett much you have agreed to the deal, and made it official. you are stuck. Unless there is a "cooling off period" in the state you are in. I know Cali doesn't have any cooling off period. But not sure about TX.
they can't not cash your deposit, unless you exam the car they have found for you, and you agreed and signed the contract. as long you didn't sign any contract, you can change your mind at any time.
'07 Black on Black w/Nav MSRP of 38k+ knocked off $2700 right off the bat and gave me $1100 in equity on my trade in which may or may not have been a good deal for me. Of course the no tax incentive helped too.
I was wondering if any of you were able to purchase the IS 350 with the sports-tuned suspension? I'm being told I'll have to special order it and am wondering if it's worth going through all that.
I've seen a couple of you are getting under invoice on the 350s, but I've had no such luck with the dealers so far
I've expanded to Cali and they're telling me that if I want to get the X package that I'll have to special order and will only receive a "courtesy discount"
or a is250 awd with nav, prem and hid 36/12k. What is a fair lease price to look for on these two? Money Factor ? What should I look to put down etc thanks!
Looks like I'm picking up my car later today...I am quite excited!
IS 250 Tungsten Pearl w/ Black interior - Sports Package.
