Thanks to everyone’s input in this great forum/thread, I was able to make a great deal on my new IS250. I waited until the end of the month and quarter and that really paid off. I got the sizzling red with the cashmere leather, premium package, HID, 18-inch wheels and preferred accessory package for $29.9 ($32.8 out the door after tax and license). I got mine at Lexus of Westminster, and the deal couldn’t have gone smoother. :D

Saw some references on the web to negotiating by faxing out your interest in buying to fleet managers on the last Tuesday of the month. So I got the names and numbers of the fleet managers for all the dealers in So Cal and did that. Turns out the color combo I wanted wasn't available (long story), so I switched to the red and I’m really happy I did. Reds are pretty scarce (they make up only about 5% of the shipment to the region), so I was prepared to maybe have to pay more because of supply and demand. But because I had faxed out the request asking for bids, I still got a great price.

I knew going in that Cars Direct had quoted me $30.5. The lowest price I’d seen on this forum since December was $29.9 from Longo and Westminster. I called Longo (nice guy) and he offered $29.8 on either the black or smoky granite because they had lots and lots in stock. I ended up at Westminster and they had a red one with the features I wanted for just $100 more. The best part of the negotiation was that I really didn’t even have to negotiate – they knew they were competing against the other dealers and wanted to make the sale and came in with that price. Service was really excellent there – it was by far the best car shopping experience I’ve been a part of.

Hope this is useful to all of you shoppers. If you want any info on the people I dealt with or the simple negotiating technique I used, email me at FabiosLC1-stuff@yahoo.com and I’ll get back to you. By the way, love the car!

great job barry!!! finally got what you wanted.

hey guys. the price of an is 250 is about 32.6K (best OTD). i could settle for it, so i stopped negotiating. however, i went through cars direct (32.3K) and the dealers at stevens creek in the san jose area and the internet guy offerred me 30.3 right off the bat. is this a good deal?
and does anyone know what happens if i decide to purchase out of state and don't plan on coming in to pick it up... rather i would have it shipped. any input would be great.
btw, i love this forum! :D
  • bongbeeebongbeee Member Posts: 8
btw, i meant to say, couldn't settle for that price and it was offerred at lexus of portland. sorry if there was confusion.
  • souji3souji3 Member Posts: 9
30.3 K OTD price at Stevens Creek San Jose????

    what options?
  • bongbeeebongbeee Member Posts: 8
msrp 35222 with premium plus package - pretty much the basic package.
30.3K is the current offer before TTL at Stevens Creek San Jose. This was the very first offer even before I started negotiating. I mentioned that I know people in the area who can get it for less than 30K yesterday and am still waiting on a response.

Is this a good quote? I wouldn't have to pay taxes since I would be purchasing as an Oregon resident. Any feedback?

The internet sale guy said your cars were on March madness sale in which they only had one vehicle( usually in poplular color like black) on sale. I need tungsen pearl not black cuze black is not for the desert's summer. The price was 32,265+TTL. They also quote perma-plate (exterior and interior as well) for 795 and extended waranty bumper to bumper 7yr/75,000 for 1280? What do you think about those?
  • flashzoomflashzoom Member Posts: 64
the internet sales guy is full of S*&%$!!!!!!
I got my in Feb, and a few other guys all got them in March.
I know they have been giving super low prices since Jan.
and I am sure the Color doesn't matter. when I got my IS250,
he pretty much gave me the price 1st, then say pick any color I want. ($30,000) where are you located?
maybe I can help you to get a deal. e-mail me, flashzoom@adelphia.net
  • ps99472ps99472 Member Posts: 28
perma-plate for $795? hmm. how bout you pay me $400 and I'll wax your car twice? don't get ripped off on that one. as for the extended warranty, that's totally up to you, I would pass.

Okay...I checked out Acura in Hawaii. I am looking into the TSX 07 as well. Some of you may know that I'm thinking about the IS250 to purchase.

Here is what I got from Acura...

$32755 + 255.40 (door guards) + fees and which he dropped it to $29015.40 + fees. They gave me 9k for trade in of my Corolla S '05, with $5000 downpayment, with $550 per month for 60 months. That was thru Honda Financial...they are looking into other banks and/or credit unions.

Help people!!! Personally, I think I should get the IS250 cause that's the one that I really wanted.....Dont know why I'm being so indecisive...sigh.

    msrp 35222 + rear spoiler = 35577
Stevens Creek San Jose offered me 30200 + TTL

However, I got my car from serramonte at around 29100 + TTL, but no rear spoiler.

I am looking at purchasing the IS 250 with Navigation, HID headlamps, wheel locks and cargo net. Hopefully will find one black/black. I would like to see what others are paying for this vehicle, and if there are any good deals going on out there. Thanks in advance.
  • mrsdowfiremrsdowfire Member Posts: 6
I would like to purchase this car with the Navigation systems, xm satellite, Preferred Package, Wood Interior, & HID headlamps. Best price I've gotten is $37,171.00. MSRP: $39171.00.

Also, can anyone tell me why Carsdirect pricing for CA and OH is so much different. Why does it seem I can purchase this car for less in CA? Carsdirect will not give me a price for an AWD IS250 with a CA zip code and I can't price the AWD with Navigation on carsdirect with an OH zip code. Is is possible to purchase a vehicle in another state than what you live in? Never done it before but I do want this car at the best price I can get.

    Hey all,

About to buy my first new car and have my eyes set on a 07 IS 350 with Luxury Package, ML Audio, Nav, 18".

Wanted to see what others have paid so I can haggle with the dealers, or at least not get screwed. Thanks!
  • arborarbor Member Posts: 11
Great Choice! I've had mine for a week and I Love it! It's FAST! A true performance masterpiece. I got mine without Nav but Luxury Plus and ML and a bunch of other stuff it came with from the factory. MSRP was 41,527 I paid 37,500. I'm on the other side of the country but 37,500 is about $700 over the car's invoice. Good Luck!

Bought our IS250 a few weeks ago and noticed that while driving this orange circle appears/lights up inside the speedometer randomly and then disappears.. this occurs on freeways and local driving and during all conditions (different speeds, braking, car in front, car behind, etc.) anyone know what it means? did a quick thumb through of the manual but only saw it mentioned for cruise control.. but then it said both circles would light up inside speedometer and tach. any help would be appreciated, sorry if off topic but it's buggin me!
  • flashzoomflashzoom Member Posts: 64
in the speedometer, that's your Max speed limit setting. Just a reminder. You will have that on the techometer too.
basically if your setting is at 80mph. once you reach 80+mph it will light up.
for the techometer, you can set it at 4k rpm or 6k rpm
to remind you when to shift to next gear, if you using the auto stick function.
you can change that setting, it's in the owner's manual.

    FYI...

Thank you for those who have helped me regarding purchasing the IS250 in Hawaii. I am in the process of finalizing everything. I placed a deposit down to place a hold on the car. It's currently enroute to Hawaii on boat. I should probably get it within a few weeks.

    Mahalos...

Hello, is there anyone here from Dallas who purchased a 2007 Lexus IS 250. If so could you please share the final cost and also your experience/ Strategy. Also, it would be helpful if you could provide the name of the dealership and the sales person as well. Based on my experience, I went to two places (swell and Park place) and those guys just won't move anyway below 33800 (base + nave + HL + FT ).
  • rdhingrdhing Member Posts: 5
Hello, I am also from Dallas area interested in purchasing 2007 Lexus IS 250. Did you ever purchase one and if so could you share your final cost and experience. I plan on visiting the dealership again at the end of the month and I plan on taking print out from this discussion to show them how others are getting Lexus Is 250 (nav) for around 31K.
  • serendipity2kserendipity2k Member Posts: 10
It's hard to bargain for a good deal on the IS 250 base in TX. You mean the 33,800 (base + nave + HL + FT ) is OTD or plus TTL? I got mine in Houston for 35,000 OTD without Nav. They gave me free Invisible shield, Window Tint and handed pin stripe.
  • jonnybtxjonnybtx Member Posts: 1
$33800 seems to be a pretty good deal in TX. Which dealer was this? Sewell or Park place? Just got quoted $34.7 w/o Nav and $37.5 w/ nav. Seems a little high compared to your quote. Anyone else has any quotes in the Houston/Dallas/Austin area?
  • dongjohnsondongjohnson Member Posts: 7
I'm glad I live in SoCal. I got mine for $32k flat before TTL. That's w/ nav.

I've been lurking for a while... haven't seen anyone talk about buying a 6-speed IS250. Is it because they're so rare, or just because no one is interested?

Has anyone test-driven an auto and a manual 250 and can comment about the differences?

I like the look of the 250/350, I think if Lexus would make the 350 with a manual, they'd have a BMW fighter.

I am in the metro philly area and was offered a deal on the awd250 non nav:
    MSRP 36552
    purchase price 33,000

    Is this a good deal?
  • pamd3pamd3 Member Posts: 3
Sounds like a decent deal for PA, I went to dealer outside of philly and was offered awd250 with HID, rear spoiler, performance package MRSP 36,900 (I believe), for 33700 for any color combination. I'm sure if the car was on the lot I could have gotten a better deal, actually the salesman hinted of this. Earlier in this forum an individual got a better deal in New Jersey (32000 range), for a car similar to yours.

I recently paid a $2,ooo security deposit to hold a 07 IS 250. After reading this forum it seems there are better deals out there. Will I have any problems having that deposit refunded?

    My current offer:

    07 IS 250
    MSRP $35,700
    My Price $33,000

    Sterling McCall Lexus of Houston
  • serendipity2kserendipity2k Member Posts: 10
mushybreaks, you can show them this forum to see if they can match you a better deal. It seems you have a better deal than I do. I got my IS 250 RWD W/o Navigation, no spoiler for $35,000 OTD at Northside Lexus of Houston. Yours is $33,000 after TTL?
  • mimicat3872mimicat3872 Member Posts: 15
Hello mushybreaks, I put down 500 diposite at Longo, too. Still waiting for the cutty to arrive~~ They told me if I don't want it, there is NO problem at all to get a full refund. So...good luck for you and me~! :P  By the way, with the IS250, 2007, nav, rear spoiler... best quote I got is around 31600...What do you guys think? I thought it was not bad at all. :P
  • flashzoomflashzoom Member Posts: 64
well, it really depends what is the security deposit is for.
If you haven't sign any contract yet, then you are good.
you can pretty much just put a stop payment on the check, then you are fine. as long you didn't sign the purchase contract, you can still refuse the car they special order for you when it arrives, simply just tell them you don't want it anymore. there is nothing they can do.
But, if you agreed to a deal, and signed a contract. then that's a different story. Prett much you have agreed to the deal, and made it official. you are stuck. Unless there is a "cooling off period" in the state you are in. I know Cali doesn't have any cooling off period. But not sure about TX.
  • mushybreaksmushybreaks Member Posts: 6
No that's before TTL. I haven't a chance discussing financing since I will be visiting the dealership this weekend from N.O.
  • mushybreaksmushybreaks Member Posts: 6
The security deposit was simply to hold the specific vechile I was looking for. I did not sign any contract.
  • flashzoomflashzoom Member Posts: 64
    then you are fine.
they can't not cash your deposit, unless you exam the car they have found for you, and you agreed and signed the contract. as long you didn't sign any contract, you can change your mind at any time.

what comes with the premium pkg? is there a driver's memory seat, mirror, bluetooth included? the msrp for the premium pkg now is $35,522. and they gave me a quote for 31500 out the door.
  • tpoztpoz Member Posts: 4
Share with us your dealer location please. Sounds like a good deal. :)
  • jhiggins76jhiggins76 Member Posts: 1
Just wanted to throw some more info out there. I'm sure you can get better deals than this, but here is my no hassle/haggle experience.

'07 Black on Black w/Nav MSRP of 38k+ knocked off $2700 right off the bat and gave me $1100 in equity on my trade in which may or may not have been a good deal for me. Of course the no tax incentive helped too.
  • reynochrisreynochris Member Posts: 3
Hey, I am in San Diego. Anybody know where to get good deal for IS 250 + nav? I guess I can travel up to LA or in the SoCal general area to get a good bargain. Comments will be much appreciated.

  • mimicat3872mimicat3872 Member Posts: 15
MMM...Before the OTD of course. oh yeah...the premium package and Navigation. Only thing they are going to add a little bit is the Rear spoiler, I guess. But...good luck~ :D

    Hi,

I was wondering if any of you were able to purchase the IS 350 with the sports-tuned suspension? I'm being told I'll have to special order it and am wondering if it's worth going through all that.

I've seen a couple of you are getting under invoice on the 350s, but I've had no such luck with the dealers so far :(
  • arborarbor Member Posts: 11
Where are you located? I don't think anyone telling the truth is getting a 350 for under invoice. Maybe a 250 because they're pumping ALOT of them out right now. I got mine for about $700-800 over invoice in Northern NJ. It's a great car!! Much faster than I thought it would be.
  • mizumimizumi Member Posts: 5
I'm in AZ and they're offering me around $2.5k off of MSRP +TTL.

I've expanded to Cali and they're telling me that if I want to get the X package that I'll have to special order and will only receive a "courtesy discount"
  • donyeyodonyeyo Member Posts: 2
Anyone know what a good price is for a lease in NJ ? Any suggestions on places ? I am looking for a is250/awd with prem package . 36/12k
or a is250 awd with nav, prem and hid 36/12k. What is a fair lease price to look for on these two? Money Factor ? What should I look to put down etc thanks!
  • arborarbor Member Posts: 11
I talked to all dealers in Northern NJ and Prestige Lexus in Ramsey was the best by far. If you're in Northern NJ let me know and I'll help you out as much as I can.

I got a 350 with Mark Levinson, Premium Package, Parking assist, Rear Sunshade, HID lights. It came with a bunch of stuff I didn't necessarily want or need but MSRP was $41,527 and I got it for $37,509. I paid tax and 4 year Registration. Ended up being $1700 down $550/month 48 mo/15K. That also included the 4 year tire and rim protection.
