I just bought an IS 250 w/premium, 18 inch wheels WITH Navigation in Los Angeles for 32000 plus taxes.
I don't know why Kendall's price is higher than in LA. They are both big cities. I would push harder. Get the dealerships to compete for your business.

Seems like these days BMW 3 series has a lot of cars with only "base + auto" configuration.

Are there IS250 like this ? and what kind of price I can expect ?

The invoice for the "base+auto" IS250 is around $28K. If I can get it below invoice, I would consider buying one.

BTW, I am in SF/SJ BayArea. Anyone has recommendation about dealers.

    Hi,
I just want to share with you my price and experience with a dealership.
I requested a quote from Edmunds, and got the response from one of dealer in NJ.
MSRP: $37709 (HID, All Weather Mat, Trunk/Cargo PKG, Premium Plus)
    Dealer Offer Price: $33395

I didn't bother to do further negotiate because I didn't want to loose the color and interior I've been looking for. It was so difficult to locate Starfire with Black Int.
I probably contacted 8-10 Dealers from NJ to Connetict, and none of them had it.
I paid 199 for Recording fee, and MV fee. Other than driving 50 miles to pick up the car, my first impression with Lexus was better than BMW, I leased last year.

I ended up leasing it because MF was lower than Finance APR. I will post more on the Lease forum.

I'm also interested if anyone knows of a dealer in the SF/SJ Bay Area with a base+auto IS250. Is it possible to order one?

Do you know when the 2009 IS250 will be available?

newbuyer2008 -- what dealership in L.A. did you get your car from -- and who did you deal with?

    Sounds like a good deal.

I'm looking for the same thing.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I am new to the forum and new to Lexus...I wanted to get some of your "expert advice" :) I'm planning to get a '07 Lexus is250 RWD. It currently has about 27000 kms and is a US car. I'm getting it for $35,000 taxes in. (In Ontario Canada we have to pay 13%). I've checked out the car and its great condition. No nav option but has leather and moonroof package....what do you think?

Just noticed that the 2009 IS250 is posted on lexus.com. Hopefully this means they will be hitting the dealerships soon. Looks like a $300 price increase from 2008.

Why "hopefully they are hitting the dealerships" if the price has increased $300? Whats new that justifies paying $300 more for an 09?

2009 ES and IS was posted on www.lexus.com on 09/05 but not the pricing. The price increase on ES is $200 and on IS is $300 MSRP.
Nothing changed for ES but for IS, tuning of suspension and steering, new bumpers, new grille, new interior, new side mirrors, etc.

All 2009 option prices are now on Lexus.com. The premium package is $465 cheaper. I was hoping for a few more changes for the 09. I can't believe you still cannot get bluetooth without getting the NAV.

I bought an '08 IS250 w/ premium package, nav, HID/adaptive headlights, 18" wheels, and rear spoiler in the mid-Atlantic region about a week ago. MSRP at $38,815, invoice was $34,236. Purchase price was $32,499 before TTT. So far, I love the car! I looked at and priced loaded Camry and Accord w/ best prices around $29,000. I am glad I spent the extra $ for this car. There really is no comparison. This car's look, fit and finish far exceeds the others. IMO, better than Acura too.

Not very helpful to others if you don't give specific reasons for your opinion. What do you like about G35 v. IS250?

    tom17tom17 Member Posts: 134
I presume you enjoy the significant power advantage.
Do you mind the 3400 RPM at 80?
Bet you wish you had waited for the 09 with the 7 speed.

    Reasons I like the G35 over a IS250
#1 is power of course. The extra 102hp makes a huge difference.
#2 interior space. The IS is just too tight in the front and back
    #3 HID's standard
    #4 XM standard
#5 color lcd screen standard for climate, MPG, maint and stereo
#6 Bluetooth, iPod interface are included in premium package
#7 the analog clock is so much classier then the 1981 style lcd clock in the IS
#8 not forced to buy non rotateable minimum $800 to replace every 15k to 20k miles 18" tires on most configurations
#9 lets face it, the IS250 is a Chick Car.

Oh did I mention 102 more HP for about the same price?

FYI with regards to MPG, my wife's IS gets 23mpg and I get 21 mpg with about the same mix of highway & city, of course I punch it a little more then her.

I could have waited for the 7 speed. I just leased my latest G35 a month ago and didn't have to turn in my 05 G35 until October. I figured I would be paying $50-$75 a month more when the first G37 sedan came out, so any gas savings would wiped out by the additional payment. I guessed right in leasing in August since with the new lease rates I would have paid $26 more a month for a G35 in September.

What type of prices are people paying in the Chicago area for the 250 AWD? Not really concerned with what options, but just what people are paying for the various trim levels.

    Thanks

No argument about the tires. I know I'm going to take a hit there. For me, IS250 has enough HP and I'll take the higher MPG. I'm averaging 28 city/highway so far. I drive mostly highway. Other things I like, whisper quiet ride (low wind and road noise), retained value, quality of interior materials and fit and finish. As for others you mentioned, it comes down to personal preference. I do not care about XM or Ipod interface, the car has plenty of room for me (I'm 6'1"). #7, are you really selecting a car because of the clock?? A chick car? Who cares. I like it and am secure enough that I don't worry about such ridiculous things.

I was asked why I like the G35 over the IS250 and I gave some of the reasons. You don't have to agree that's the beauty of personal choice.

With regards to wind noise I hope you have better luck if you have to change your windshield. For some reason Lexus chose to not use rubber molding on the sides of the windshield, and no moulding on the top of the windshield. Since we have had the windshield replaced the hard plastic on the right side of the windshield always pops out and its sounds like a window is open when driving down the highway because of air coming in through the molding less top.

I don't know if you are using the on board computer to determine mileage. I have found it to be very inaccurate. It shows that I am getting 2-3mpg better then what I am actually getting.

I saw that a few posters were getting amazing deals. Fully loaded 250's for around 32K. My question is will the price go up if you want to buy the car cash? I have a trade worth over 20 and would probably pay the difference off. I can just see the F&I manager renigging on the price when he finds out that i'm not financing it for 5.9%. What do you guys think, is the price negotiated the price or will it depend if you're financing it?

I have a car coming in from allocation. It's a 2008 350 SMG/Black - Prem - Nav - 18" wheels - HID Lights - Rear spoiler. MSRP is $43,180. Dealer say's their cost is $38,200 and they will give it to me for that +TTL. I got 3.9%/60mos locked in about two weeks ago so I think this is good but is anyone getting anything better? I am in AZ.

    Thanks for the valued opinions!

Cash/finance should not change the price. However, just to be safe, I am always vague about that until a price has been agreed to. Then I tell them cash or financed. If the price changes, I walk.

I am new to this thread and am a first time buyer. I am interested in a 2008 IS250, NAV, Luxury Plus Package (without alloy wheels). Finance/60 or 48 mo.

I was advised by a small dealership of the following figures:

    MSRP: $37,670
    Invoice: $33,396
    Selling price: $33,3096

I test drove last weekend and advised the salesperson that I am interested in purchasing below invoice and they did not blow me off.

How much below invoice do you think would be reasonable given that the 2009 models have just come out? Thanks for your input.

that's not a good deal. I was offer for the same exact car spec from Steven Creek at $29690 + TTL (32690 OTD) at end of Aug timeframe with 2.9% for 3yrs. I think you can ask for even better deal than that now.

I think your range is correct. I bought the same '08 RWD, PT version (17inch wheels, no HID) abt 2 weeks ago for around 29k + tax (31.6k OTD) I'd suggest not going to one dealer only. There are 8-9 dealers in n around the bay area. Get others to quote as well. This is a commodity you're buying after all (assuming they all have the options/color you're looking for) !
And my thanks to all the members here. This was far more helpful than anything else online. cheers

I bought this vehicle this summer from Portland Maine Lexus with only 4800 miles on it. Absolutely "like new" and total load. Paid $33,500 US for it. Seems a bit high according to some of the postings I see here, however I priced the same thing in a 2008 model at the lexus dealership in Nova Scotia - and it would have cost me $52,000 - so $33,500 (for me) was a bargain! Already ahve 2 different folks who want to buy it from me in 3 years time!

By the way - love the vehicle

My local dealer is getting very few new cars, and we are only 1 or 2 Lexus dealers in the whole state. I have been on the waiting list for a 250 AWD since June and still have not idea on when my car will be coming in. Why did Lexus do such a huge marketing campaign on the new IS but can't match it with the supply.

I also test drove a Lexus ES330. Overall a very bland car. Medicore sound system, no pickup, and the ride was too soft. The dealers quoted me 4K of MSRP for one too.

I looked further and the 0-60 for a IS250 is 7.9 seconds and for the ES330 is 7.2 seconds. That itself kinda gets me worried.

So is the IS250 really this slow?

I think the IS250 is a beautiful car inside and out. But I can't stand to drive my wife's because of the lack of pickup. She even complained to me last week about it after driving my 08 G35 for a day.
