would appreciate your feedback on lease for 2018 ram1500 crew cab msrp $49,695, $5,000 total out of pocket, 10,000 miles per year located in NY for $309 per month. Dealer is also folding in 3 remains payments of $310 for current 2015 ram. Turning vehicle in 3 months early to avoid new tires. Could you also proved residual and MF?

    What trim level?

We aren't big fans of up front cash on a lease - just the first payment and registration costs is our recommendation.

Will your new tires cost more than $930? If not, ride out the lease and put new shoes on it.

Tires would cost slightly more than $1,000 with all the add ons. Riding out the lease would also incur excess mileage costs as Im right at the 30,000 lease allowance now.

Trim level is a Big Horn crew cab

I'll assume 4x4 since you are in NY.

36/10 on BigHorn CrewCab is .00031 and 52%

How about in CA on a 2018 Ram 1500 NIGHT CREW CAB 4X4

    36/10
    24/10

Also, is the residual value calculated off the MSRP (56k in this case) or the Price after rebates/discounts/etc ($43k)?

    Thanks!

Just double checking here - is the top #'s you gave for 36/10 or 24/10? I put 36/10 first and in other responses you've made, it seems like the higher % is usually for the shorter lease. Thanks again!

Any of you mind taking a look? The MF/Residual is dead on to what you guys said. Was hoping for a bit more on my trade but seems fair (2014 camry LE, 49k miles, great condition). But things like the invoice number changing from $51,693 to capital cost = 53,138.49, then net sales price up to $61,751.85. Rebate of 5740.60 on rebate under capital and the then $6500 rebate in option A. If I try and start adding/subtracting trying to make sense of it all, nothing comes out the same. Fees seem a bit excessive as well and I thought on a lease in CA, you pay sales tax on your payment but not on the vehicle up front? Thank you so much!!

Looking at Rebel 4x4 Sticker of $53,375 after $6k in incentives so roughly $46k before T&T. They're telling me a payment of $580+ without running my credit. I asked for the money factor and they would not share that until I ran credit. How do I get the dealer to use the MF and RV you provide? What would the RV and MF for a Rebel 4x4 in CA be?

If you find out they are marking up the MF, tell them you won't sign unless you get the base rate. And, walk if you don't.

The numbers at the top are for a purchase, not a lease.

There is that small matter of $6200 in negative equity. That has to go somewhere, and I'm pretty sure you aren't writing a check to cover it.

That is adding $170/mo to the payment, even though the rebate is covering most of that. Without the negative equity, the payment would be under $600/mo, which is more in line with what you'd expect.

Any way you can ride it out with your current vehicle and reduce that hit?

    .00043 MF and 52%/51% residual

If the vehicle has $6000 of incentives, that might only be for a purchase, or with a 3rd party lease.

    .00021 MF and 49% residual for 36/15. (maybe, it's 48% for 16.5K/yr?)
The payment looks to be in range, given those numbers.

I realize that the negative equity is the bulk of the issue here but that wasn't my question. Do the fees seem high or are all of those pretty standard? Also, I thought sales tax was due on the monthly payment, not on the price of the vehicle up front. On the top part on the right, they are listing 3934.91 due for sales tax but if I multiply the payment by 36months X the tax rate, that doesn't even come close to the almost $4k number they have.

    @SoPhoKingRichard

The column with the "RETAIL" header is for purchase, not lease.
The relevant numbers for a lease are in the "Capitalized Cost Breakdown". You'll notice no mention of that tax amount, there, but also the addition of the acquisition fee.
There is some tax due upfront, on the rebate (Capped taxes)

I get a much lower payment with those numbers.

I don't see the adjusted cap cost on that worksheet. Ask the dealer for that number.

So using the numbers available here; what lower number do you come up with.  Every time I run through the numbers I come up with $274 per month.

I also added a bed liner.  Thats the 230 accessory charge.  But they added that to the MSRP saying it must be residulised.  And then appears again on the right side of the paper as a chargeable amount.  Is that correct?

For my math I am using a Cap Cost of $29019. Selling price of $37019 minus the $8000 rebate.

This monthly payment is also including the sales tax.

This is a New York lease as well.  Not sure is that changed any thing.

This forum is so much help.  I really appreciate what you all do here for people.  Thanks again.

I get $225/mo, before tax and fees are added in, if I use $29,019 as the cap cost.

NY taxes the sum of the payments and collects that money up front. You can pay it at lease signing, or you can choose to add it to the cap cost and make it part of the monthly payment.

Ask the dealer what cap cost they are using for their worksheet.

Assuming the "amount financed" is the adjusted CAP cost, I get the same payment. $271.26

Are you putting $8K down on a lease? Or, is part of that a rebate?

The $8000 is the rebate.  The sales person also just told me she didnt know what I meant by cap cost.  And after I explained it still said she had no clue what I meant.  Lol.

@ldepasquale So, it's ZERO due at signing, and $271/mo?

Holy Cow.... did you take it?

Residualizing the bedliner is a good thing... That means you are only paying for part of it.

I haven't accepted yet.  There are still some things I can't account for.  The MSRP for the truck is $40880.  They added $250 to the MSRP to residulised the bed liner.  But this quote has $41330 listed for the MSRP instead of the $41130 that it should be.  Also the taxes don't add up.  Doing reverse math on the taxes; I can see they are taxing me 8% on $17835.5.  The only way I can come close to that is adding the Depreciation($7941)
    bed liner($250)
    last payment of my car($210)
    document fee(97.50)
First months payment which they are covering(368.16) which oddly is also including the $97.50 that is already listed above.

Total $16867.26.  There is roughly $1000 of unaccounted taxable funds.  And of course they are dragfing their feet getring back to me with an itemized list of all the charges associated with this lease payment.

Should I just let them have this one and take the $271 and run?

NY taxes the sum of payments. So, the monthly payments, plus CAP reductions (rebates and amounts paid upfront)

Yes... you should grab it and run...

With the residuals they are showing, this is not a Chrysler Capital lease. This must be Ally or US Bank.
We don't have their lease programs.

But, $0 upfront and $512.71 is a great payment for a $56K MSRP vehicle for 36/12.
I doubt the Chrysler Capital lease numbers could beat that (or, the dealer would use them).

The payoff for the car is 32.4k I’m paying for the lease about 18k. I can’t get the payoff lower since there are rebates and discounts? The rv is only from the msrp?

RV is calculated against the MSRP, which is what you want. You want to get the cap cost lower - negotiate your best price, then subtract the incentives.

2018 Ram 1500 Night, Crew Cab, 4x4. MSRP $54,402. In CA.

Here's what they quoted me on 36/10:
    MF - 0.00050
    RV - 52%
    Dealership incentives - $3,000
    Factory rebate - $7,500
    Down - $2,000
    Payment - $550/mo

Do those numbers look right? I'm not big on putting cash down and I still feel like there's room to negotiate.

We show .00040 as the money factor, but there could be regional differences.
The payment seems a little high, given those numbers, but really need to know the Adjusted CAP cost, and an itemization of charges/fees to be sure.

Here are the numbers on the printout they gave me:

    MSRP - $53,570
Price - $50,570 (he said this was with the dealer incentives)
Cap Red - $7,766.10 (he couldn't tell me exactly what this number was composed of)
    Trade - $27,300
Payoff - $27,840.12 (I don't like being upside down on my trade and will negotiate further)
    Rebate - $7,500 (factory rebate)
    Residual % - .5200
    Factor - 0.0005000
    Cash Received - $2,000
Upfront - $2,000 (not sure why this is listed twice)
Accessories - $832 (Running boards installed; I previously added to MSRP)
    Tax - $600.23
    Acquisition Fee - $595.00
Fee - $850.75 (Not sure what this is; didn't ask)
    Payment - $550.11

I asked the guy 3 or 4 times if that was the lowest MF, as I'd seen 0.00040 quoted on these boards for the same truck. He kept saying I'm "in the top tier for my credit score," whatever that means. How much would that affect my monthly payment?

    Thanks for all the help!
