    I asked the guy 3 or 4 times if that was the lowest MF, as I'd seen 0.00040 quoted on these boards for the same truck. He kept saying I'm "in the top tier for my credit score," whatever that means. How much would that affect my monthly payment?

    Cap reduction is what's left over after paying upfront amounts out of the $7500 rebate + $2000 cash from you. That reduces the CAP from $50,570 to $42804.
    Looks like about $1600 added back into the cap for the accessories and Fee (that's CA DMV fee + $80 doc fee).
    I think that puts the adjusted CAP cost around $44,500
    With that number, I get $498/mo.+tax, which puts you close to $550 (depending on your tax rate)
    The $600 tax upfront is tax on the CAP reduction. (rebate).

    The difference between .00040 and .00050 is just $7/mo.+tax

    What cab style?

    4x4 or 4x2?

    Chrysler only offers 10K as their lowest mileage allowance.

    I'm within a couple of dollars of the 36/15 payment through Chrysler Capital.

    $7500 is a lot to put upfront on a lease.
    That makes the total cost of the 36 months CC lease about $700/mo.

    I am considering putting down the trade (4500) and 3k (deposit) primarily to keep payment lower. Is there a reason I should not be doing that? When you say 36 Month CC lease about 700 what exactly does that mean? With the deal they proposed does the Money factor seem reasonably. It seemed high to me and doesnt seem to come out with what I have seen as a money factors you have been giving others. Also does my credit rating factor in to a better MF? I have 750+ credits scores. Maybe I am not figuring it correctly? Also what about the residual in the above deal does it make sense? Thanks and I have to say these lease/rebate/trade/residual etc... become very confusing when you dont do it often :(

    36 month, Chrysler Capital lease.. (and, I was wrong.. it's closer to $600/mo, total cost)

    We only have Chrysler Capital numbers, so I can't check the other banks.
    Yes, the residual is correct.
    The money factor is .00021
    The rates we quote and that they used are for top tier credit.

    Putting all that money upfront doesn't decrease your total cost, only the monthly payment. It does tend to obscure the actual cost of the lease. It also makes the 24 month term seem cheaper, because that big upfront payment is amortized over fewer months. The 24 month leases are actually more expensive than 36 months, even though the payment is lower.

    $600/mo. for 36/15 for a $55K MSRP vehicle seems reasonable.

    One more question, why are you saying 600 mth for 36/15. The lease is $392.81 for 36 months with 15k with a 26,928 residual. I am not understanding the 600 mth comparison? Is this $600 mth what it would be without the 7500 deposit for my trade and 3k cash DP?

    Yes, $7500/36 = $208/mo, which, when added to your quoted payment of $392, totals $600/mo.

    Be aware, if the truck is stolen or totaled during the lease, you lose the $7500.

    I've read through this whole thread and even got multiple quotes from different dealers. Your paying to much bro. One of my quotes is for a Ram Rebel with luxury package 4x4 for MSRP $53k, 36month/12k for $460 a month with $1k upfront. Keep looking $600 a month is CRAZY for these RAMS.

    Ohboi, why do you say that? The MSRP is 55,000K, I got 5K off MSRP 1% below Invoice which makes it $ 50,101.00 before Chrysler rebate of $ 8250 or 5000 depending on what Credit Company I use. Either way thats 13,250 or 10K off MSRP. Thats a pretty good deal IMO!

    If the MF is .00100, confirm what bank the dealer is using - our numbers come from Chrysler Capital, and they only a allow a .00042 max markup.

    Can't tell you what's best by just comparing residual and money factor, because the selling price/rebates won't be the same. The two programs come with different rebate levels.

    Looking for confirmation that I am on the right path and getting a good deal. I received a quote for an '18 Ram 1500 Sport Edition. They're running this through Ally (6.75%). This is for a 15k/36mo lease in the State of Michigan (6% sales tax).

    Coming up with a payment of $470.15/mo

    I have to bring $1297.15 - due at signing, in which includes first month ($470.15), documentation ($200), title ($15), and registration ($8) I am unsure of where the remaining $604 comes from.

    I get $440/mo.+tax, so the calculations look correct.

    The extra money upfront might be the acquisition fee? Just a guess.

    That seems like a pretty good payment for a $52K MSRP truck.

    MSRP: $46,285
    Discounted listing price: $31,538

    Lease terms: Doesn't matter, just want the best for residual (24,37, 36, 39)
