Maybe you can get some more offers

Well, I'll have to sell myself! I'm great at guarding my master's house! I only sleep during the day, never at night! I hate cats and I hate other dogs! Promise to never sniff between my master's legs. I will never grind my derrière across the carpet because of an itch I might have. And I promise never to eat off the table!

Now can I have my Beggo's! Gigi, it's just you me baby! Sniff sniff sniff!

My later cars (of my own) I think all had automatic chokes, where you pushed the gas all the way down, and hope it worked. I much preferred the pull out lever (better control over the process),

I owned only GM cars in the ‘60s, ’70s and ’80s. All of my cars had Rochester carbs and I never had a problem with any of the automatic chokes on them because I did preventative maintenance on them a couple times a year, especially before the winter set in. A lot of people thought that a spritz of oil on the choke linkage was how to do it. That was how to gum it up because of the dirt that the oil collected. I just made sure the linkage was adjusted properly and all I used was a spray can of Gumout to keep it clean. The trick was to make sure the linkage wasn’t binding in some way and to keep it clean and dry (no oil). I’m not saying I want to go back to carbs but I never had a problem with any of the automatic chokes on my cars.

I see you used the term “no draft windows”. That is what my father always called those little triangular shaped windows and since I grew up hearing that I also used that term. When I said that in an auto shop class in high school the shop teacher corrected me by saying, You’re too young to say that. You better say vent windows or else nobody is going to know what you’re talking about”. :confuse:

I think we could allow you to eat Beggos if you lose, Gigi likes those too!

I wonder if Pedigree would taste good with terriaki sauce on it, terriaki makes everything taste better.

. You better say vent windows

And I suppose dashboards should be called instrument panels. I just read yesterday they got the name dashboard because it protects the occupants from the horses kicking mud onto the passengers when they dash.

I think the name "no draft" was made because they blocked the wind from going into the passengers windows. So "no draft" makes more sense than "vent windows" to me.

Hold your horses everyone! It's not over yet! Now *driver, you have to make sure that your alarm doesn't go off by itself for two weeks of parking and locking the car without Gigi being inside the car. I still contend that the alarm will go off again without Gigi. We'll see about this!

FWIW, XM on both the Genny and the Subie work in our garage just fine.
Be glad you live in a good reception area. Here we have one weak oldies station or country. That's it. I'm paying whatever Sirius wants to keep this music coming.

Well, I opened it up today. No, not the engine...the Audio system. After taking wifey to look at our next dog. (100 mile trip-no smoking in the new car and volume down low for her tender ears). I get a new toy, she gets another pet.
I took off to my favorite salad bar. 3 "crank it up" songs in a row on Sirius. image

I know what you mean. Sitting in my garage is a stock 1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster Town Sedan. Starting mine is slightly different from what you describe. First you turn the key switch to the center position. Then you pull out the choke knob. Then you just hit the big starter button on the floor. There's a linkage hooked up to the starter button that floors the gas pedal when you press it. The old Chevy usually starts right up. As she warms up you gradually push in the choke knob, which reduces her idle speed to normal. Then she settles down - these old long stroke 216 cube engines only idle at about 450 - 500 RPM with her solid lifter valvetrain ticking away.

That color is truly perfect for a Mustang. Ford did a stupendous job on the 2013 Mustang. They added a needed dimension of vitality to the Mustang line-up. As for your choice of the V-6 over the V-8, with 6 cylinder engines today generating 300+hp, there is no need for the gas-guzzling V-8. My V-6 delivers 306 hp with 280 ft.lbs. of torque. More than enough power.

Looks like a car you can really have fun with! Great choice!

One thing about the Mustang....that is one car they keep making look and perform better and better with each transformation.

I saw a red one go by yesterday, doubt it was a 2013 but it still looked really nice.....that red is really a beautiful red.

Just a personal opinion, but the Mustang captures the original and leveraged on that classic design much better than GM did with the Camaro or Chryco with the Barracuda.

Beautiful car.....I would love one of those for Florida but we are always carrying people so it would be impractical...maybe if they were uder 22 years of age (I don't know if there are any under 22 year olds in FL).

A 6 cylinder is the way to go these days, for all the reasons Mike gave.

That dog would make a nice friend for Gigi.

I'm glad I live in a state that doesn't require them.
mako1a's Mustang would look a lot nicer without that hunk of metal hanging from the front bumper.

You would think that with all the technology we have that there would be something better than a piece of metal!

    or Licence Plates (for Driver)

Thanks for the acknowledgement...I don't know why we would spell licence/license differently.

You have to have a licence plate on the front and back in all provinces in Canada. I think that is good because if you get run over or something at least you might be able to get a number. Even on a camera.

But, they can sure make a car ugly. I think you have a good point, they should be able to make something that is part of the car in this day and age...maybe like a computer image thing.

Going to see the real Frankie Valli...

Back in the 1990s, I saw Frankie Valli in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Hilton. He had a couple of the original 4 Seasons with him. He put on a great show. It was the last month my wife was alive - and how she loved the 4 Seasons. The sang all their greatest hits from the 60's. You and your BETTER half will really enjoy the show!

I live further south than that, that's why we wear white all year round! Only problem with white or light beige, shows dirt and grime. I remember when I had white seats in a car - I went to a seat cover place and had the custom make clear plastic seat covers for the car. When I think back over why I did that, I realize how stupid that was. The seats became so hot in the summer that I burned my derrière often. So the moral of this story is - ENJOY THEM!

The white seats look great, and they contrast nicely with the red. Both of our bimmers are white with basically white interiors, and it is my favorite interior...cooler in the summer, and looks nice and bright.

I don't find it any harder to keep clean, if you don't eat KFC in your car and wipe your hands on the seat and throw the bones in the back.

So many cars are practical, the Mustang isn't a practical car for most people, but it sure is a nice car if you can just have a car for the fun of it!

We are staying at the Hyatt in downtown Buffalo...Shea's auditorium is 2 blocks away. 90% of the stores are boarded up and closed. The streets used to be packed with shoppers and all the big department stores used to be downtown.....now there are just a lot of guys who are talking to themselves out loud, or sleeping on the benches.

I am really looking forward to the show though, hope its as good as the one you saw.

So what you're saying is that downtown Buffalo is really deserted as compared to last time you were there! It's really a shame what's been happening to the downtown areas of America's cities. I've only been in Buffalo on a plane trip that landed there because of an emergency! So I am not familiar with the city historically or any other way.

Chicago and New York City are still in good condition - they have always had migratory people and homeless people. But cities like Cleveland and Detroit have really suffered because of this economic catastrophe.

    Well, just enjoy the concert!

No I'm not Portuguese! 30 or so years ago people used to put seat covers on their seats in their cars. I remember Rayco used to do it in New York!

The leather in today's cars is very durable and wears much better than the leather used in the 60s and 70s. The only problem with leather is that you have to keep it moist so it will not crack and dry out! There are several products on the market that will prevent leather from drying out and cracking.

It is sad...downtown Buffalo is deserted. However the hotels are hopping, people all dressed up going to wedding parties and various events.

Frankie Valli was incredible, it was a great show and he is still touring around the world, Australia and England, as well as doing concerts in the USA. He still has that beautiful, unique voice too!

If you are worried about the seats they can be treated for stain resistance for about $200. This is kind of like the insurance dilemma (or dilemna for some of us), you can spend $200 for security, but will probably never have to use it.

I remember Rayco used to do it in New York!

Back in the 50’s and 60’s Rayco was the first place my father would go after buying a new car. Not that he needed one but he bought new cars almost every other year and since he wanted top dollar for his trade he had seat covers put on them. The first 3 new cars he had that I remember were Nash’s (48, 50 and a 52). Some may question why you would try to protect a Nash, they were pretty low on sheet metal appeal but he liked them. :confuse: He bought the top of the line model (Ambassador, I think). They road well and had some innovative options, like the radio in the ’52, that would go to the next station preset by pushing a switch on the floor just above the high beam switch. I never saw a radio that did that until I bought a ’68 Olds Delta 88 Custom (455 CID). That car would “seek” out the next station not just go to the next preset by pressing a bar just above the dial. Olds called it Wonder Bar. That was also the first car I owned that had FM.

The only problem with leather is that you have to keep it moist so it will not crack and dry out!

The best product I found to keep leather seats like new is Lexol. I used to put it one my baseball gloves when I was younger and it did wonders for them so I tried it on my first leather seat car and I like it, a lot. I use the cleaner and then the conditioner. So far I have no reason to try anything else. I’m damn sure not going to try any Armorall product.

    Olds called it Wonder Bar

I think it may have been called Wonder Bar throughout the entire GM line.

    Lexol

Absolutely! I love the stuff. It takes off the "blue" from your jeans and safely cleans the leather. I use the conditioner too, makes it nice and soft.

Its a little pricey, but lasts a while and well worth it.

    Armorall

I've read that it no longer contains the silicone and other harmful ingredients, but won't touch the stuff either for my interior. Someone gave me a bucket of cleaning stuff (a gift set, type thing) and it had some AA tire shine that I have been using but I prefer Black Magic.

Another great protectant that in every forum I read people rave about is 303 Aerospace protectant.

Cities like Chicago and New York don't have a dominant industry that would take down the city if the industry fails. Cities like Detroit that only had one major industry goes to the dogs when that industry either falls on bad times or leaves.
