I have a one Lady who always brings me a home cooked meal when she visits service.she remembers when Deskman was Greenpea 6'2 AND 155LBS with holes in his shoes and wearing a members only jacket.
Boss invited me to join his family for Christmas Dinner! I hope i get the gsm director postion of our entire dealergroup.
Good Luck!!!!!
It would be heaven to have sat and sun off once a month.
How is business this weekend for the crew? i am sitting on 241 billed and burning for the month.I hope i can bust 550 this month.
Expecting xmas thru new year to be Sllllooooowwww.
But everyday closer to christmas gets longer and longer and you keep going home earlier and earlier.
The road from hero to zero in our business is a short one. :shades:
joel sounds like a good day for you even with the football and bad weather.I would feel good if i finished i with 5 with those conditions.
Here 78f sun is out and not a cloud in the sky.i took a drive over to the beach to count ups. Many euros displaying their twin puppies proudly while getting tans.
For us, the week between Christmas and New Years is the busiest week of the year! Nobody takes a day off and the entire month is made. We are SWAMPED that entire week.
One New Year's Eve, I sold four cars and got out of there at 1:30 A.M.
It's called Ohm's Law and you may want to try OTC - Discussion Suggestions although intelligent conversation is desirable here as well.

Doesn't some of those goodies void the warranty on the demo?
If wanted the new one soon, it would probably be invoice as well, too (and still with decent trade). Even now, as I have IMBA deal, but even without it they'll all hover around invoice by the spring here. Three grand over sticker for STI is just plain silly. I expect new STI go for sticker in first few months and then it will go back to normal unless supply is severly cut.
You may catch couple of customers with more money than sense to pay more in your area, but in Tampa we get enough competition so even STI Ltd or first year Spec B were selling at sticker tops, not above. But your expectations are really revealing ...

Carchic, don't let him fool you! He secretly wishes his owner principal would buy a Toyota franchise. His wife has been bugging him for a new Sequoia ever since I posted pictures of it on myCarSpace and Joel just can't get it out of his mind either. He keeps waking up in the middle of the night going: 'Ok honey! I'll buy you one. We have to go down to Va Beach though as the stores here in Nashville won't discount them and I know my friend Mack will! Anything to make you happy sweetheart!"
This Joel and I going at it. We are always agreeing to disagree but most of the time he agrees with me. I've been trying to get him to leave the Dark Side for a while now.

i understand that hummer does well the last week of the year.

Dear Hemipeen,
If you are going to enjoy this site, you must show a little more patience, tolerance, and understanding. I don't mind competition, but you mustn't attack INTELLIGENT students like Joel, Snakeweasel, Mackebee, Inguy, and many others. They were here long before us, and they have assisted many people.
Their formal education, or the lack thereof, has nothing to do with their intelligence. During a span of forty years, I taught future doctors, lawyers, engineers, military generals, U.S. Senators, etc. Many were not the best grammar students, but they have contributed much to their communities. These car salesmen have done the same in both their professional and private lives. An example would be Joel. He is a former paratrooper. I would hardly classify him as a 3rd grader.
Though I am sure that I irritated these posters at times, they were very nice to me. We chatted in good spirits. They will receive you in the same manner if you approach them with the respect that they deserve. I pointed out some errors, but not too often. Also, you should only point out things that will really help them to communicate with each other in a better way---and you should use your sense of humor. Life is too short to "nick pick" each error.
I know that you mean well. I dislike poor grammar as much as you do. Still, we must remember that it is the content and interests that "drive" this site. The Hosts of this site will confirm this. The Hosts are patient people, but they don't want this site to be Englsih 101.
Relax, have fun, and get to know these people. They advised me months ago regarding a car experience that I had. In that situation, THEY were the good teachers. Welcome aboard.
Richard
PS You guys try to be nice to Hemipeen. Though some of my friends think that I am crazy to be on a car site, I brag to them about you often.

They don't put funny stickers, they don't load their cars with mop&glo - their only extra sell is extended warranty and accessories. Even their "dealer-whatever" fees are not as high as most "superstrore" types (i.e. around $300 whereas local Toyo, Honda or even domestic dealers go for $500+). Just a different reality.
I can tell you now - some guys here get quite emotional when they see/hear about ADM stickers. My attitude is more relaxed. If it is something trully deserving that ADM (like asy Shelby Mustang, or Solstice, or even Prius in their first couple of years), I simply shrug it off and move on. If the ADM is silly, I laugh it off and also move on. Of course no business either way, but I don't get emotional about it.
From bigger picture, incorrectly assessed ADMs can backfire big time, especially on cars that are not as hot to really deserve them, like the STI (there has never been a real shortage of them). They are seen as very good indicators of "take money and run" mentality and people will remember that later. That single superscore may actually come at a very high hidden cost in terms of lost business (obviously not visible to dealers as no one knows how many people walked out without even asking a single question) . I bet per one whale who paid your ADM you have ten customers who go elsewhere. Five will never even ask you anything (they see ADM and walk away), three will pretend they're buying, but never have intention as ADM puts it out of their interest, two may even try to bargain but give up.
Changing subject: is it true that in Florida you have to sell ext. warranty at one price, as it is allegedly an insurance product? That generally stinks big time. Those warranties may be worth something at lower price points, but

At least we call it Tier 1, that is the National, Tier 2 is Regional, and Tier 3 is individual dealer marketing.
As far as my wife or any one of my family members driving an import goes........The day that happens you better have a big umbrella to protect you from the pigs flying around.
Typical phone conversation between sucker and con man mentor:
Sucker: "I took your Riches in Real Estate course, but I'm not making any money!"
Mentor: "Oh, Mr. Sucker, you only completed the $500 introductory course. To really make money, you need to sign u for the $2,500 Advanced seminar!"
Sucker: "Thanks! Will do!
One month later:
Sucker: "I took your Advanced Riches in Real Estate course, but I'm still not making any money!"
Mentor: "Oh, Mr. Sucker, you definately need to sign up for the $5,000 Super Advanced seminar!"
Sucker: "Thanks! Will do!
Six months later:
Sucker: "I took your Super Advanced Riches in Real Estate course, but not only am I not making any money, I'm $8,000 in the hole!"
Mentor: "Oh, Mr. Sucker, you definately need to sign up for the $10,000 Super Advanced Deluxe seminar!"
Sucker: "Thanks! Will do!
And this goes on until the sucker wises up or is bankrupt and/or has massive problems with the IRS and others.
At least we call it Tier 1, that is the National, Tier 2 is Regional, and Tier 3 is individual dealer marketing.
Yeah, I also like the one where the guy buries his car in the snow so teh plow tears the side off of it...
Hey Joel, on an unrelated topic. I've had two sessions with F&I in the last couple months. Looking forward to a good chat and and laugh with a guy like you or lrguy who writes his own deals, I find myself faced with two well dressed ladies in their 20's or early 30's with big eyes and big... well you know
What gives? Are you sure you're not one of these F&I ladies impersonating an ex military guy in the net? :P
Or one of these!

I've always wanted a Land Rover, and I've had a special soft spot(most folks would say it's my head) for Discoveries. My wife can't drive a stick and I'd like to have at least two cars she could drive, so I'm thinking of selling the Wrangler and picking up an older Discovery in the sub-$10K range. I don't mind wrenching on it myself, and we'd probably put less than 5K miles/year on it. That said, I don't want to buy a money pit. Based on that, which year(s) would you recommend- if any?
And yes, I know that I could always buy a Wrangler slushbox, but sometimes I like to live dangerously...
