Toyota Announces Safety Recall On Selected Tundra Pickup Trucks
    12/14/2007 Torrance, CA
Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., will launch a safety recall with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on certain 2007 model year Tundra four-wheel-drive pickup trucks. The campaign will involve approximately 15,600 units in the U.S. and does not involve any accidents or injures.

On certain 2007 model year Tundra vehicles, there is a possibility that a joint in the rear propeller shaft may have been improperly heat treated, resulting in insufficient hardness. In the worst case, a section of the rear propeller shaft may separate at the joint. There has been one case reported among all affected vehicles that may relate to this condition. The one case involved abnormal noise and did not involve an accident.

Owners will be notified via first class mail beginning in late-December 2007. Owners are requested to contact their local Toyota dealer for inspection upon receiving their notification. If the hardness is not correct, the dealer will replace the rear propeller shaft at no

    Jip,

Have you been to F&I lately

It's been over 3 years. I take it F&I is a field the young attractive ladies gravitate to? But, isn't joel in F&I? :surprise:

LOL. I'm starting to like you deskman... but not in a "Subaru" way. So, ya pulling down $750k a year, look like Brad Pitt, have golf front property, and have a sex life Caligula would envy. You gotta have bad breath... yeller toenails... something?

Yes I have flaws.I have big feet and big hands.I think you can guess the rest.

Not making $750 K this year.I am on track for 575-585k this year. so far ytd is
    530k.

I thought the same thing mark. Both in Florida with twenty plus years in the business. I think rroyce(terry) wrote he owned a few dealerships though.
Terry was much more sarcastic and a bit insulting though. Except for implying I wear panties  ... haven't really seen that from the deskman.

No bull, there is a store in town who hire guys right out of the half way house down the street from them. They say they are model employees because the only place they can go is to work and back to the half way house. They send a van to pick them up and drop them off. They are not out partying all night so they are fresh and ready to go.

When they hire them they give them like $250 to go buy some clothes, train them and put them to work.

The only down side is that after there time in the house is done they move on to other things.

That and they have had some limited occasions where they have stole cars and had to go drag them out of a crack house, but that just turns into a trip right back into prison for them.

somehow that does not surprise me. I bought two trucks from town and country and then the one from you. I have never even considered going there.

i guess that's because i don't get reimbursed for anything, regardless of the fact i may use my computer/internet connection for work, take and make calls on my cell, and drive to and from work.

Tax tip, if you do have work related expenses that you do not get reimbursed for then you can deduct them from your taxes as an itemized deduction (presuming you itemize). So if you use your internet and/or cell phone for work you can deduct the portion of your bill you use for work. Example if you use your cell phone 10% for work you can deduct 10% of your bill.

Sorry driving to and from work is not a deductible expense with the exception of driving to a second job from your first without stopping at home as long as the second job is not on the way home.

Now if my job reimbursed me for that, and reduced my salary by $300, what is better?

Neither but then again commuting to work is not a business expense.

One story, that was rather ridiculous like the gentleman who posted the BMW story. So for some reason, some of you didn't laugh and get the joke, but whatever.

At any rate, does it really matter?

Good thing the decimal point was right or he might have gotten the $65,432.10 fee

or $654,321.00, or $65.43 (decimal slip works both ways).

You know it is possible to have a nice house nice cars and such and live off of $75K or less a month. And not use anyone elses money.

Really unless you're the Gilbreth family do you really need a house over 2,500 square feet?

FWIW I have a water view (property backs up to a lake) and believe me when I say that it can easily be afforded on an income well under 100K/year.

To be honest I have seen way to many people with new Lexus/MB/BMW every two years in 4,000 square foot homes on golf courses who take yearly european vacations and make 100's of thousands a year who will be greeting people at Wally world in their golden years because they spend every nickel they get.

I also know people who make $50K a year who will retire at 60 worry free.

Most big screen TV's are sold below MSRP.

Houses are almost always negotiated (how many people buy a house at asking price?)

Diamonds are over priced due to market and supply manipulations.

Gold price is published daily and can be found very easily.

Yes, take off that but ugly grill protector, the stupid lights and replace those circus sideshow mirrors with something halfway decent. Do that and you might have a halfway decent looking truck.

Don't all new car dealers wholesale cars in that price range? I thought $3k or less cars were relegated to BHPH lots and get sold and repossessed a couple of times a year.

Thats what we do for the most part, though we will start keeping them now through April if they are a half way serviceable ride. The reason being is that tax return time is coming and we will have allot of people looking for cash cars.

Some of my biggest grossing deals when I was in sales were on $6995 cars.

Years ago when I ran our bargin/special fiance lot we would make a killing on those cash cars. We would sell around 30 a month.

What's the chance of grinding them getting them to slip it one place further to the left and after we get them to do that we can say, "why dont you just forget that fee altogether" :shades:

As a tax prepairer I know that well. Always get these people coming in as soon as they get their paper work and want to get a loan against their tax return so they can buy something like a real cheep car.

I would think that the people with tax refund money looking for a cheep ride would run out around the end of February.

I am for forgetting the fee altogether. Just recently bought a HDTV and they didn't add a fee to it. I really can't see a fee for the pleasure of buying a car.

You are right on the time frame snake. I just associate April with tax time. Those who have refunds coming usually have there taxes filed ASAP.

Only those of us who owe every year drag our feet. Though I do have it to the point now where I break even every year or maybe owe a few hundred, depending on weather or not a 1099 that I forgot about shows up to bite me in azz.

And I am all for getting my taxes done for nothing.

I agree with you on that, however there are those that either 1.) cant count their toes and get the same number twice, 2.) are unsure about their taxes and wants someone who knows these things to do them 3.) have very complicated tax returns and needs the expertise that someone like me has or 4.) wants to use a loan product that our bank partner has so they can get their refund (less fees) in as little as 8 hours.

Do you realize what it cost to do title work and payoffs from an administrative point of view?

Yes I used to assist in the audits of some dealerships. The $65 doc fees they charge around here more than cover that.
