So, I know it is not a 'glut', just my misuse of the word. But if anyone is looking for a little better choice in colour & trims, they may look at Houston if their local dealers are out of stock.

At this time of year, you should be able to get a below invoice price before rebate, doc and TTL unless your local market is quite high.
I bought a Venetian Blue 07 Azera Limited XM with Ultimate packaging for a price of 27k before the rebates with 0% APR for 60 months! If I had chosen the rebates, then the price before the rebates would have been 25k!
So, the total OTD (including all fees & TT&L) was 29k with0%. In lieu of the 0%, if I had chosen 2000 rebate, the OTD price would have been 27k! I think I got a good price, what do you guys think?
The dealer was Wiesner Hyundai in Conroe, as suggested by our forum member jlindh IThanks jlindh!!) I did all my negotiations over the emails & my salesman was very professional. My wife & I drove out to Conroe & arrived a little early than our appointment. The reason was that I thought that traffic would be very bad & so we left a little early to beat the traffic. Another saleswoman assisted us (on behalf of my salesman). We did all the paperwork & were out in about 3 hours. Couldn't have been better. I'm going to rate them very high on the satisfaction survey.
Ofcourse, there were some minor issues. Instead of 2 master keys, they only had 1. And the floormats were missing (they had in other color). But I was told that I could go back & they would get the floormats & reprogram another master key for me. No sweat, as I need to go back again to get the Lock/Unlock, Easy Exit & Limp Home programmed. Still I would rate them highest.
I also bought 10yr 120,000 warranty for $638. Now, I'm not sure if I should have bought it. What do you guys think? Is the extended warranty worth it?
Good luck with your new ride.
Sounds like a great deal.
What extended warranty did you purchase?
I was under the impression that the only Hyundai extended warranty was 10 years 100,000 miles bumper to bumper with no co pay.
Is this a new product or a non Hyundai warranty?
My mistake about the warranty. It is for 10 yr 100,000 miles, not 120,000 as stated in my previous post.
On a side note, while I was waiting for the paperwork to be done, I saw a brand new Buick Lucerne in the showroom (the dealership was one of those multi-franchise). When I opened door, I noticed that driver passenger door edge had this cheap looking plastic molding. That thing had a sharp edge (kinda like those in a cheap toy where the edges are sharp). I found it interesting that a car costing 28k-30k would have such a cheap molding.
The dealership wasn't too difficult to deal with, so hopefully they wouldn't try to pull that trick. Right now, the door Lock/Unlock feature works. But the easy-exit doesn't work & Limp home probably isn't as well. So, I'll keep my fingers crossed that I don't have to fight with them over this.
This car drives wonderfully & is so luxurious! Sound system is fantastic & looks great. Yesterday the wife & I went for a drive & I could see that there were many cars who were looking astonished at this 'Hyundai'. Just to jiff them, I raised & lowered the rear sun-shade :shades: Before Azera, my previous rides were Kia Sephia & Hyundai Accent. I tried to drive with the sunroof open but the wife started screaming at me to close it (Her hair getting messed up- Methinks women are too touchy with their hair). I would have to drive it with sunroof open when she's not in the car.
Another thing, the date of manufacture on my car is Feb 26th, 2007. I haven't heard the dreaded 'clunk' in the suspension yet & I did drive over some rough surface & drives like a dream. Do you guys think that I may have the new suspension 040 part?
Another very important doubt I have is about the keys. As I mentioned earlier, they gave me only one Master Key. They told me that my car was a dealer trade & when they got it from the other dealership, it came with only one key. They promised that they would program another key for me.
My question is, should I be worried about the safety of my car? Since I don't know who else has the other master key? What do you guys think?
Who knows, maybe they'll even get to other "original" key from the other dealer.
In any event, don't pay for programming of features that are included in your car. You already paid for them when you bought the car, the dealer just did not perform a full dealer prep. late in the evening.
Not sure about the extended warranty value, but their bumper to bumper does not cover everything for 10 years/100K, e.g. audio. Read the booklets that either come with the car or Hyundai sends out later.
I looked at a Lucerne at a car show recently. Apparently you have to get the V8 to get any kind of decent performance and by then you are in the $38,000 range. Nice looking car and I liked the interior layout, but not as much as my Azera.
New '07 Venetian Blue Azera Limited with XM and Ultimate Package. Paid $26.2 before tags & title. Would have been $24.2 if I had taken the rebate, but 0% financing saved me $5.6k (assuming 8% over 60 months). Got the deal done in less than 24 hours. Plus I got a free bike for my kid.
If you have a written quote, be sure to use it to your advantage. It's like a coupon at any other dealer. Also, you might want to check the invoice date (on Carfax) or build date. It can help you estimate the number of days that car has been on the lot, which might indicate how desperate the dealer is to unload it. I think national average for days on lot is 64 days.
I like the Azera better than my Acura RDX, provided that it holds up in the reliability department. My boss said it felt like riding in a Lexus (seriously).
Good luck all, and happy holidays!
Dude, Azzy rides like a dream! Better than my friend's Lexus & has more toys than Lexus! I'm averaging about 20mpg in city driving & 26-27mpg in mixed city/freeway driving.
I just love the 0% APR offer! Saved me a ton of money!!
Just a small tip: Make sure that the dealership has removed all plastic coverings on seats, door handles etc. When I bought mine, I used to hear a screeching sound & squeals & I was annoyed. I then looked around & found that the dealership had left a number of plastic covers on in the seat area & the sunroof area. Removed the plastic & quiet as a hybrid!
The Azzie will go far in changing the perception of Hyundai. It just needs to prove itself in the reliability department, and I think it will. I agree about all the creature comforts, it's hard to say which I like the best. So far I'm getting about 21mpg in mixed driving, but it's still early in the break-in period. Does your dealer offer any freebies, like oil changes and whatnot?
I like the Azzie much more than my Acura. Dollar for dollar it is a much better value my purposes. Enjoy!!
There was an initiation fee which was capped at $190 and they allowed me to transfer up to $20k of my bank debt, so I did. The remaining bank debt will be gone next month and I'll devote a portion of that now-released-for-spending/saving money to paying down my credit card debt within the original 48-month window. I figure my total interest rate to effectively be maybe 5.25%, a lot better than the original bank rate by itself, so look around, both before and after you finance.
Oh, the bank DID front-end-load some interest before I paid-down the $20k, but not so much...
My son was able to do this with a transfer of credit debt to a 0% 12 month loan.
I asked an advisor why companies would basically give money away on a 0% loan (almost always with some up-front money required, of course) and he said that credit issuers are betting that you'll screw up somewhere before you pay off your debt, and then they'll retroactively raise the rate into the 30% range or so! The screw-up can be anything, from a late payment on any credit card you hold, to a late mortgage or utility payment, anything that can show up on a credit report. At this point I have nearly everything on "auto-debit" and what isn't, I pay on-line well ahead of the due date, nothing goes into the mail with a hope and a prayer where my FICO 800+ credit rating in concerned!... :shades:
You are correct!
The rule is NEVER be late on a no interest loan. It will revert to a high interest rate going back to day one.
If you do the same for 6 months, your effective rate is 12%..
And, as noted, if you don't pay it off, the rates skyrocket. It is seldom a great deal, in any case.

If you play your cards right, and there are enough banks available, you can go forever without paying interest.
Thank you!
If you do the same for 6 months, your effective rate is 12%.. "
I don't see it. 3% is 3% (or maybe 3.2% if you count forgone interest for a year on your initial 3% charge). And if you pay off the debt early at six months the 3% becomes an effective 6%...
Make six equal payments of $17.17... total paid = $103.
Pull out your trusty amortization calculator (What? forgot it in your other pants?)
$103 paid over 6 months on a $100 debt = 10.28% APR.
That's assuming you can amortize the fee over the six months... If you actually have to pay the fee upfront, then the imputed rate is higher. Of course, if you make minimum payments, then pay the rest of the principal at the end of the payment period, then your imputed rate is lower, as you had use of more of the money for a longer period of time.
If the repayment and "zero" interest is over a 12-month period, then the imputed rate is 5.42%. (assuming a 3% upfront fee)

It was just a point.. Most of the credit card offers I get, are for 6 months, with a 3% upfront fee... Even if you continually roll those over to other cards, and never pay any principal, the best you are achieving is 6% APR.. And, if you miss the rollover date, you'll lose everything you saved in the first month.. Some offers may be better than that, but you better read the fine print.
That seems like a lot of work for 6% APR money.... I can beat that rate from my credit union. Plus, there is something to be said for the discipline imposed by a car note.
Anyway, back to Azera pricing!

As many of you might know from following my earleir posts that I bought an 07 Azzy Ltd at the end of last month here in the Houston area. I love the car & I though I did well on the pricing.
When I bought the car, the salesman told me that they didn't have the floormats for the car & had only one Master key. I was told that they were going to order a new set of floormats & another master key would be programmed for me. Fine. Anyway I had o go back to the dealership to pick up my Tags & so it wouldn't be be a problem.
Almost 3 week passes by & I don't hear back from the dealership about my tags. Since my temp tags had expired by this time, I called the dealership & asked about the tags. 'Oh yeah, they came in a long time ago!' says the lady. So, I go back to the dealership & pick up the tags & enquire about my floormats. Apparently they haven't arrived yet, probably after new year's (a full 6 weeks after I have bought the car).
Agreed, all these are no big things by any stretch of imagination. But these are the things which don't reflect well on the brand, dealership experience. I spent a cook 30k on this car & I wasn't even given a courtesy call that the tags had arrived. The dealership hadn't orderd the missing accessories (which was part of the package & hence already paid for). I wonder how Hyundai wants to sell a 40k Genesis when customers who can afford that are used to the papmering by MB/Lexus/BMW dealerships.
And, no, I'm not going to complain about the dealership to Hyundai. These are small things & I don't want the salesman to suffer because of me if I complain. He was professional & civil and I'm sure this is nothing & the salesman missed the small thing in this busy holiday season.
But a note to Hyundai if they want to upsell to high-end customers: You guys need to elevate the dealership experience for your customers. If you want to play with big boys, dress, act & talk like one.
If you're not complaining to the dealership owner or to Hyundai, why are you complaining here?
If the salesmen was truly good, he would have followed up on the tags and missing accessories.
It seems to me that he abandoned you after making the sale.
Good salespeople think ahead for your next purchase or referral.
Because that's the purpose of this forum: To relate your buying experience..
Thanks!

True. But the complaints are obviously dealership matters, not manufacturer matters, and he doesn't want to complain to or about the staff at the dealership.
In a earlier post he said he was going to rate the people very high. Why rate them highly and then complain on this forum? Seems contradictory to me.
Why am I not complaining to Hyundai right away? Well, I'm going to wait atkeast till the 1st week of January, just so that I give the dealership & the salesman time to get their act straight. Maybe it was the holiday season where the salesman was overwhelmed & might have missed.
As people we have to give each other a little slack. People are basically decent & not everyone is a bad person. We all work under stress and sometimes we all just miss things.
I have always given people the benefit of doubt & I have to say 99.9% of the time people have come around.
Yes, I will complain to Hyundai if it doesn't get resolved in a timely fashion.
Maybe my rant about manufacturer was uncalled for. But I have to tell you, this Azera is my 3rd Hyundai/Kia product, so, give me a little credit about knowing a good manufacturer. If I were to include the Daewoo, then this would be the 4th Korean car I have driven.
But hey bhmr59, relax. It's the holiday season! Some beer? :shades:
What I was questioning was what I thought were inconsistencies in your prior posts. Your last post clears them up for me and seems quite reasonable.
Good luck in having these minor issues favorably resolved soon...and kick back and enjoy a beer yourself!
Here are 2 suggestions: (a) Insist they canabalize another in stock Azera for the missing mats, and use those even if a different color until yours show up...(b) They can do likewise with a second remote and program it to function on your vehicle. If they don't freely do the above you have great stuff for Hyundai / Fountain Valley.
Finally, your sales person has probably already requested you bring in your Hyundai dealer "scorecard" for him / her to fill out. Reason being, he / she gets a spiff if all is rosey. Use it as ransom.
I think the salesman didn't do a very good after-sales job.
I will be in the market again in about a year for a Santa Fe or a Veracruz for my wife & I can tell you that this dealership would certainly wouldn't be first on my list.
Changing the topic: I did a good 700 ml long trip over the Xmas weekend & the mileage was 26-27mpg. Pretty impressive if you ask me.I'm hoping that the mileage would increase once the engine break-in has happened
You guys might rememebr that about a month ago I bought the 07 Azera from Wiesner Hyunda in Conroe TX in the Houston metro area. I wanted to get the Limp Home, Easy Exit & Memory Seat positions programmed to my car. So I called on Wed & fixed a 2pm appointment on Friday.
I dutifully arrive at the service bay at 2 & apparently my appointment wasn't noted down. But I was told that they would get the car in the bay nevertheless. So far, so good.
I was then asked what I wanted to get done. I told the serice manager that I wanted Limp Home, Easy Exit & Memory Seat Key programmed. I could sense from the blank expression on ehr face that she didn't know what I was talking about. The head service tech comes & I tell him my requirements. First he doesn't understand it & they I patiently explain what the Limp Home/Engine immobiizer function is & other programs. H belligirently claims that no Hyundais have that feature. We argue back & forth that Azera has these features & they need to be turned on using the handheld computer. I explain to him that Limp Home & Memry Seat program functions are even described in the manual. He refuses to budge & I'm getting angrier at his attitude. I then say to him to connect the handheld computer & see for himself. Even the guy who sold me this car claimed that there's no such thing as Limp Home! Why don't these people atleast peruse the manual of the car they're selling?
Grudgingly the service manager takes the car in. Sheepishly comes out in a few minutes, averting my eyes & asks me what 4 digit code I want for my Limp Home code. The tech is able to turn on the Easy Exit feature as well. But is unable to find the option for the memory seats. I could sense from the subdued tone of the techs that this was the first time they knew something like this exists.
Since I couldn't get the memory seats programmed, I went to another dealer Northwest Freeway Hyundai in Houston & ask the tech there to program this. He claims that no Hyundais havbe this feature & only Ford/Lincon have this feature. I was exhausted after my experience & didn't want to waste time arguing with another clueless tech & left.
Now this is my understanding of the memory seat programming. Please tell me if my understanding is correct. I instert Key 1, set seat & memory position and I do the same thing for Key 2. When I insert Key 1, the car recognizes the Key 1 & WITHOUT me pressing the memroy button, sets the Key 1's preferred positions. Does the same thing for Key 2. Is this what it is? Currently, whether I put Key 1 or Key 2, the seat returns to previous drivers position. Since my wife likes to drive with seat pulled front & has set to position 2, I would like to be able to put my key & seat and mirror move to my position after she has driven it. Similarly she puts her key in & all things are moved to her settings automatically,
Has anyone in the Houston area got it done to their Azera & at what dealership? Also, what is the technical name for it & where it might be located on their handheld computer? I want to go to another dealer, insist on them hooking up the handheld & then look over their shoulder & guide them to that option.
Any help is GREATLY GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks felllas!
Prepped, programmed and out the door for $27,800.
Overall excellent dealer experience, purchased through Internet sales manager at Jim Hudson Hyundai, Columbia, SC.
I'm a happy camper... :shades:
BTW, which Bluetooth option did you get? Is it an aftermarket solution or is it a Hyundai option? I'm also looking to add Bluetooth intergrated with my 07's stereo system. If it is an aftermarket system, could you give us a little more details? Also, how do you like it?
Congratulations man, 28k OTD including all the TT&L seems like the BEST deal anyone has had on these forums, bar none!!!
I really want to know if the seats & mirror positions would be set automatically when the car detects either keys.
They are hard to find, but seem to be showing up in the southeast at least in limited numbers at this point. Every dealer I have checked has at least two, maybe that was how many they got for their initial allocation? I have seen one out of about 20+ 2008's I have looked at over the past week (count 'em - one) with navigation which is shown as "late availability" - as is the Bluetooth module, but apparently is available in severely limited quantities. That was a black one (I think - my mind is a bit muddy after a week of looking everywhere in South Carolina, Savannah GA and Charlotte NC) at Myrtle Beach Hyundai/Isuzu.
