Not sure that 10K is offered by Honda. 36/12 numbers are .00200 and 62%

If 10K is available - and it might, in and around NYC - add 1%

Looking at leasing a CR-V EX-L with Nav AWD in NJ. 36/10 or 12 would be fine.

    Can you provide RV/ MF?

also, can you tell me where I could find that info? I’ve been trying to find it for hours. Thanks

Here is an offer I received with the supposed "Costco" pricing.

How fair a deal is this? This is for a 36 month 15k a year lease. CRV Blue Touring 2018

    Vehicle price $33,625 (Touring FWD)
    Discount $3,130
Selling price $30,495 then they add splash guards, wheel locks and cargo tray for $410
    Sales subtotal $30,905

There is a dealer fee of $799.00 (in florida they all seem to be this but I can try to negotiate this down) There's also an electronic filing fee (is this just mark up?) and tag fees

Out the door price.. $33,860. 97

    Residual 58%
    Money Factor .00210

They are saying residual is $19502.50

With tax and tag the amount is $494 to $504 monthly.....this seems high to me.

    Any help is appreciated!

The out the door price doesn't help you much, as that includes the sales tax that would be applied to a purchase.
The number you need is the adjusted CAP cost, that only includes the costs for a lease. (FL taxes the monthly payment, not the sale price, on a lease).

That's the correct lease program. The Touring trim has the lowest residuals, ergo the highest payment, relative to MSRP. The lease program isn't very good, anyway, and picking this trim just makes it worse.

It's a very popular vehicle, and, even if you love it, it's a poor value to lease.

Even if you get the correct adjusted CAP cost from them, and whittle out all of the crap, you'll still be looking at $485/mo. with $500-$1000 due at signing.

After getting you last advice, I switched to looking at a 2018 EXL

Here is the deal....please tell me your thoughts. Is this a fair deal? How much more should I ask for

    Vehicle price $30,425
    Discount... 2906
    Selling price 27519
    Tax 1760.56
    Battery 1.50
    Dealer Service Fee $799.00
    Electronic Filing $99.75
    Lemon law $2.00
    Tag Agency Fee $85.00
    Tire $5.00

    Out the door price $30271.81

I then told him I want dealer fee plus more taken off.

    Bottom line

We wound up with $386.00 per month tax included (6%) plus $1,000 out of pocket which includes first month

This is for 36 months, 15K a month. In South Florida.... Zip 33437

    Residual 61% $18,559,25
    Money factor .00210

    THANK YOU!

Need the adjusted CAP cost with tax and acquisition fee added, to calculate the payment (though, that looks close).

CAP cost reduction is a downpayment. They added it to make the upfront an even $800, and to get the monthly down to $389/mo. (so, it seems less than $391/mo.)

To clarify, the quote I received says “The capitalized cost of your lease is the Direct Price plus $595 lease acquisition fee.” The Direct Price they quoted me is $27,565.50. Not sure why they’re not adding tax to the cap cost, but the tax is $32/month over 36 months.

    Thanks again!

Tax in NY is collected upfront, no matter how they break it out. You can be sure it's been added to the CAP cost. Funny how you ask for the CAP cost, and they still can't give it to you.

I get $355/mo. pre-tax, so the numbers are very close. They are probably exact, which you could confirm, if they would actually answer your questions.

All Honda leases have a disposition fee. Of course, you don't pay that until lease end.

It's a popular vehicle, and not all that cheap to lease. I don't see anything wrong with your quote, though.

I show .00200 as the base MF from Honda for the CR-V. There is a note that the MF is bumped .00010 if no security deposit is paid.

61% is the 36/15 residual for the EX-L.

Thank you -- I am actually looking at 36/12, is that also 61?

Also this may be off-topic, but my lease trade-in is worth $1,704 more than my lease buyout, and my dealer agreed to roll that value into a new lease or purchase.

However, on the lease calculations, they are only adding $704 to the cap cost reduction for "reasons" I don't understand, and thus none of my lease calculators are adding up because they assume "1,704" trade-in value is exactly that.

Is there some reason they would not apply the whole trade-in value to my cap cost??

    36/12 residual is 63%

There may be $1000 of up front fees that are being covered by the trade equity - I would get clarification from the dealer about that (acquisition fee + dealer doc fee, perhaps?)

    Thank you so much.

Would you also be able to offer any advice on trading a low-mileage existing lease vehicle in early? I have no experience with that at all, so I'm wondering if dealers will offer any incentive or if it's better to purchase and resell at the end of the lease.

    How early?

Every vehicle has a trade in value and a payoff value - get the latter from your leasing company. For the trade value, you can check a local CarMax or, post a message on the "Real World Trade in Values" thread.

Most leases are not set up to provide equity at lease end. Get the numbers before determining your next move.

The existing lease ends on July 4th, so just over six months early. It's a 12K/yr 36mo lease and the car currently has 16K on it. Also a CR-V.

Very rarely does it make sense to terminate a lease that early.

But, until you know the numbers, it's all just speculation.

    Hi all,

I am in northern NJ and was offered the following deal on a 2018 Honda CRV AWD EX-L

    MSRP: $31,825
    Cost: $27,935
Out the Door Price: $31,661 (including taxes and fees)

This seems like a good deal to me but I don't have much to compare it to yet. Any idea?

Out the Door Price: $31,661 (including taxes and fees)

This seems like a good deal to me but I don't have much to compare it to yet. Any idea?

    I'm in Los Angeles.
Need help on Lease calculations for CRV 2018 Ex

    MSRP = $27,975
    Offered = $24,675
    MF = .00210
    Res= 63%
    Down $1923
Lease Payment = $306 (tax included)

I tried doing the calculations but I come up with a Lease payment of about $252.80. What did I miss?

I get $285/mo before tax with those numbers, so the dealer quote is in line.

Not sure what you may have missed in your calculations.

Hello there.  I am in the Buffalo, NY area.  Wondering January MF and Residual on a 2018 CRV EX-L AWD With Nav, 36 mo/12k mi per year.  Also, any lease cash or other incentives right now on this vehicle.  Thanks!

    2018 - .00200 and 68% for 24/12; Honda does not offer a 10K allowance

Hi, I'm in Southern California. Based on 36/12, looking for MF and residual on 2018 CR-V LX and, if different, the same info for the 2018 EX trim. I'm going to try for my usual $0 down but I noticed that Honda is not offering any national lease specials on CR-V right now--is that a bad sign for negotiating? Should I wait until Feb 1 to see if new deals come out? thanks!

    .00200 MF and 62%/63% residual for LX/EX

The new CR-V is very popular. It's been that way for the last two model years.

Thanks! That info makes me wonder if I'm actually getting a good offer from dealer... I asked for 2018 CR-V LX, 36/12, $260/month pre-tax with $0 down payment and a drive-off of first month's payment only. They came back with $291 pre-tax on. I asked for $275 monthly and they said I'd need to put $1000 down (which doesn't seem better). Over the phone they have not provided info on price beyond the $25,125 MSRP.

Just a little background: I leased from this same dealership exactly 2 years ago and got a 2016 CR-V LX--39/12, $267 pre-tax monthly and a drive-off of first month's lease payment ($295) so $0 down payment. That car was just totaled which is why we're shopping again (early). I just got them to look up my previous lease agreement.

Yeah, the lease deals on the previous iteration of the CR-V was better then, as they were blowing them out in anticipation of the new 2017's.

All things considered, under $300/mo isn't that bad of a payment for an LX. Read back through this thread (and the 2017 CR-V lease thread) and you'll see lots of folks paying $400/mo for EX-L trims.

Posting this on my way to dealer so that you can share in the suspense of whether I am going to get a nasty surprise once I sit down with the sales/finance people: playing a couple of dealers off of each other over the phone/email, I have negotiated for a:
    2018 CR-V EX trim
    36/12
    $299/month+tax
    $1327 drive-off ($1000 down payment + first month's payment)

I'll keep you posted :-) thanks for the info!

so I got this deal. of course, when we sat down the sales manager attempted to change it to 39 months and tried to add in the DMV and doc fees but I said no and insisted on the deal that had been agreed to on the phone. they ended up taking their fees out of the $1000 down payment--so our contrubition to the cap reduction was actually only $478. not sure if this was a steal but I feel pretty good about it :-)
