I get $446/mo with those prices.

I'd ask the dealer for the specific breakdown of the $2300 - some of it may be going to cap reduction to lower the payment.

But, the quote looks pretty decent.

Hey guys.  This is potentially my first lease and just when I thought I understood everything, the dealership is confusing me. I am looking to put down up to $2000 and my understanding is after negotiating a price or cap cost, I could put money down to further reduce the cap cost and therefore lower the amount leased. This is the quote from my local dealer after they provided me with a price of $38,113

”Yes the lease payments were calculated with your $2000 down payment.  It will not change the pricing of the vehicle on the worksheet because there are multiple down payment options listed.  However, the $38,113 price negotiated does not include any tax, tags fees or upfronts.  But like you were saying, if you take the cap cost minus the residual is the amount of your payments plus rate.  If you put $2000 down, the cap cost will adjust by $2,000 but won't change the sales price or the residual.”

I know I can’t change the residual as they stated, but am I really not able to change the sales price with my down payment?

No, it doesn't change the sale price, but it does change the adjusted CAP cost. (and, therefore, the payment).

MSRP is 46185 (incl 2BH), but selling price would be 43782 prior to rebates...40032 post-rebates.
Not sure what invoice is.
Rolling 8% sales tax in to payment.
729.54 due at inception includes first and DMV fees....nothing else toward cap.
36 payments at 532.04.
