Just had a dealership tell me that I had a choice I could get the rebates or the 1.35 money factor. They said if I got the rebates I'd have to take a 3.35 money factor. Does that make sense? If I have Tier 1 Credit and I qualify for 1.35, seems like that's what it should be. Their reasoning was they had to make a little bit of money on the deal. The dealership shouldn't see any of that money factor, correct? Wouldn't that interest go towards the Ford Leasing Company, and not the individual dealership?

If they markup the rate, they get a percentage of the markup amount upfront from Ford Credit. Basically, the dealer gets all of the benefit from the marked up rate.

Moved onto the next dealership. Told them what happened at the previous. I used the numbers the dealership provided. Did the math in front of them. They couldnt argue with the math. And I pick the new car up on Wed. Thanks for the help. This is the 4th lease that i have been able to get for well under advertised monthly prices that they normally would have a down payment figured in. You guys are great, and math always saves the day.
