    I have no way of knowing for sure, but with a 39 months, 7.5K/yr term, it's likely that they are running the lease through a third party bank or credit union.

    All of our numbers are just for Honda Finance.

    In NY, the sum of the payments, plus any down payment and taxable fees (dealer fee, acquisition fee) are subject to sales tax. This amount is collected up front - you either pay it when you sign the paperwork, or you have the tax amount added to the selling price of the car and it becomes part of the monthly payment.

    Due to oddities with NY sales tax regulations, we recommend you pay the sales tax up front; if you add it to the payment, it becomes subject to tax again.
