Thanks. Looked at and test drove the only car on the lot today at the largest dealer in area. An LX. Really liked the car but the first two truckloads of inventory is sold, they won’t take an order below sticker, and KIA has stopped taking orders for SX’s with the Prestige package because of parts supply issues. They had three cars still available on the next truck load. They are told it is a four month wait for custom order. This will be a hot car based on the quality of interior, functionality of three rows, safety tech, and features. I am coming from a Durango Citadel. I imagine the SX with Napa leather will be nice. Getting in and out of third row is still average against the class, Atlas has them all beat there but the Telluride has a nicer interior. Atlas digital dash is still better. I have to believe the SX with Prestige will be a good challenge or better than Enclave Avenir but a lot less. It drove real nice as well. Buick is dropping their warranty back to 3/36 with the 2020. That is the first I have heard that today. Once KIA has inventory and enough parts it will sell well. You may have to wait until next year to get a really good discount if that is what you are after.

Lastly, they did confirm a lot of other dealers are getting above sticker but they haven’t gone there yet.

Also, in PA there is 3% car tax, do I pay that or do I instead pay the NJ rate for that same tax?

I guess I am looking for how the algorithm might change on me.

If you live in PA, I'll guess the NJ dealers are accustomed to cross state shoppers, and can sort out the tax situation.

And, FWIW, the 3% lease tax is in addition to the normal tax rate for everything else. Therefore, a total of 9-11%, depending on where you live in PA.

Also current incentives/rebates for each zip please, as I am right on the state line for Indiana and across from Kentucky.
A lot of dealers around here are trying to charge above MSRP, can you confirm this in my area. Had a Kia dealer I reached out to Ohio tell me he was offered 5K above MSRP for a SX by another dealer in Chicago for his car, so he has his listed 3K above MSRP. When I questioned well then why do you still have the car it was crickets and his emails stopped?? Thoughts on how best to handle as this is almost the exact vehicle I would build and order. I would if I had time but my existing lease if up next month so I need to move now otherwise I will be carless or have to get something else which I don't want to. Thanks for any updates and additional info.

3 to 6 month wait here in NY/ NJ area . Dealers getting full sticker.. Plus. Unless your willing to overpay wait till the initial buying wave calms down and Kia's supply increases on lots. I know this don't help you but early spring 2020 into summer months is when lease cash will go up, prices will fall on the Telluride.

I would email dealers out of state to see if you could get closer to invoice price then subtract any lease cash on your model................... Otherwise walk away!

This might be a stretch to ask but.. do you know what it was on July 1st? I put a deposit on a S on July 1st at it was at 66%. When I went to pick it up on the 17th i was told by the dealer it had dropped to 62%... and i would have to pay $30more/month. Do you know if the lease cash changed?

How can I 'prove' to a dealer that the rate is 66%.. when they tell me its 62%?

Dealers can't alter the residual

If it is an S AWD for 36/12, then the residual is 66%.
Look at your lease contract, and do the math.

It's more likely they changed the selling price, or marked up the money factor, and lied about it.

Feel free to scroll back through the discussion and look for the same trim and AWD. I don't remember for sure, but I don't think it has changed from June.

Actually lease cash has changed since I first went. I found a screenshot I took. It was $1830, its now $1530. I dont see how that would change the /month cost +30$

Reason asking... when I see it in the lease agreement, did the dealer put it in OR is it autofilled in by the system? (ie, the dealer puts in 62% even though corporate says its 66%)

The residual is fixed by the bank, and the dealer cannot alter it.

Can't tell you how it works with the software, but I'll guess the dealer enters the trim, FWD/AWD, term and mileage requested, and the residual is populated from those data points.

Confirm the data the dealer is using, and double check the paper work before signing.

If the dealer does use the wrong residual, the bank will reject the application and send it back.
