We usually stick with a 36 month 12k per year lease so we stay under warranty but this car has a 6 year warranty.

I’m assuming you mean the two COS dealers? My GLI lease from the one with the M in the name is up next month. Had my eyes on two manual Alltracks that have been on the lot for months. Hoping I can get a good deal.

Working a deal on 2019 Alltrack SEL.

Dealer is offering the following,

MSRP 37,785.00
Sales Price 29,999.00
Savings 7,786.00

Gross CAP cost on worksheet $31,617.86 (fees 687 + 675 + 229.67 + 34.28 = $1,625.95 )
NET CAP cost on worksheet $28,912.65 (minus $3,100 down so shouldn't this be $28,517.86?)

36 month 12k year lease residual 52% with $3,100 down equals ~$388 month lease payments.

The dealer is willing to pull through my existing lease with three payments of $251 each left on my 2017 Tiguan.

This isn't the deal I was looking for, I was hoping to land somewhere round $350 a month and I'm considering putting down less and just dealing with the higher payment of $430 to $450 a month.

I know the Alltrack's haven't been good lease candidates in the past.
Should I just wait and see what other incentives might come down the road now that this model is discontinued?
My current lease is up end of January 2020 so I can wait alittle bit.
These cars are still available here in Colorado but I know I run the risk of dwindling inventory towards the end of the year.

I appreciate any insight.

You're paying tax on the down payment, so it isn't actually $3100 you subtract from the gross cap.

$350/mo may not be possible.

Gross Cap Cost of $$31,626 ($29,999 sales price + $1626 dealer fees).
Down payment of $3K, Net Cap Cost $28,626.
Depreciation of $8,977.75 (28,626 - $19,648)(which is 52% residual of MSRP)
Lease payment of $291.12 after 7% sales tax.

Even if I take the $3K down out of the equation, I come up with Gross Cap Cost of $31,626, $0 down, and $381.79/month.

I would assume a big markup to the money factor, to make up for the huge discount.
You'll notice the money factor isn't disclosed, anywhere in the OP's post?

The finance guy (who I knew from a previous lease deal) said they use different money factors depending on their incentive packages.
He indicated they were using some dealer "coupons" in order to get the discount off of MSRP.
Sounds like dealer "money magic" to me.

I'm starting to work with a couple of more dealers since it's end of the month.
The lease agreements I'm getting don't have a line for sales tax (ours is 8.49%) which is making it more difficult to verify their numbers.
So is the sales tax calculated on the final negotiated price and included in the Gross Cap Cost?
I'm using a lease calculator on bank rate.com and my numbers are coming in way under the dealers quotes and I'm assuming I'm missing something.

yes they do.
I'm looking at several lease agreements and some of them show the sales tax as a line item but most of them don't.
I've also noticed some estimates don't show the acquisition fee, isn't that a fairly standard fee for the leasing company?

VW credit charges a $675 acquisition fee for every lease.

Dealers that don't break out, or detail, these numbers really don't deserve your business.

Care to tell me which ones you're working with? I've had dealings - either directly or with friends - through several here in greater Denver and am kind of disappointed in some of the practices they use.

These are both for Alltrack SEL with the DSG transmission

Larry Miller VW estimate showed $599 D&H, emissions $25, filing fee $27.20
This totals $651.20 and there is line item for estimated taxes $2,487.61.
No acquisition fee is listed.
Their estimate is $500.30 month, 39 mo/12k miles with $1k down based on $30,535 sales price

Bob Penkhus VW shows $687 D&H, $34.28 Government fees, $168.75 estimated Cap Taxes, $675 acquisition fee
This totals $1,565.03
We negotiated a $29,999 price for the car, gross Cap Cost is shown as $31,556.94
This math doesn't add up exactly but it's close enough for an estimate.
Their estimate is $426 to $436 a month, 39mo/12k miles with $1,700 down based on $29,999 sales price
Their estimate calls out the residual at 50% for 39 mo and 52% for 36 mo

Gebhardt VW estimate showed $599 doc fee, that's it.
Sales price for the car is $30,169 with a $37,955 MSRP.
So total sales price is $30,768.00
They show the residual as $18,977.50 so they are obviously using 50%.
Their estimate is $386.87 a month 39 mo 12k miles with $3,100 down, although their estimate states $3,486.87 due at signing.
Their estimate did not have the dealer name or my contact info on it which was odd but it at least included the VIN and Stock number.

I'm still waiting on numbers from Emich where we are also looking at an SE with Drivers Assistance & Appearance Package.
My quick math shows those cars are selling for about $1k less so I would expect the lease payment to be with $20 of the SEL.

I could not make a deal on this vehicle with my local dealer.
This was for an Alltrack SE (DSG) w/Driver Assistance Package ($35.5K).
They were only willing to discount it $3K and I was shooting for a $29K selling price.
Guess I was wrong, moving onto the next car now.
I was quoted 0.00032 MF and 50% residual on a 36/10 lease.

Agreed, try another dealer.
I got a quote on a SE DSG with the DAP for $28,934 sale price last week.
They were still looking for $470 a month for a 36mo/12k lease though.
Alltrack prices seem to be all over the place depending on the dealer for some reason at least here in Colorado.
