Hi Edmunds community! Just curious which upcoming models everyone is excited about. These could be cars that are just hitting lots this month (2020 Kia Soul & Telluride) or upcoming models such as the just-announced Mazda CX-30 or redesigned Hyundai Sonata.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the new Kia Telluride and have already seen one on the road!

The 2020 Kia Soul GT-Line looks interesting, especially with the 201HP Turbo. It seems packed with tech, too, for the price. Funky, fun, and practical. I miss the hamsters, though.

I agree @Mr_Shiftright. I checked out the new Soul this past weekend. The dealer had about 20 in stock already, but none with the turbo yet, so didn't drive one!

Now if I could get it with a 6-speed and keep most of the nice amenities... :)

I'm very keen to see and drive the new Jetta GLI, especially with the prices that have been quoted.

Under $30K for a fully loaded model ticks all the right boxes for me.

Well, the Soul is likely off the list. The wife was away for a week at a conference and had a Soul as her rental, and she was not blown away. She felt a little lack of legroom, visibility, and cargo space that made her lukewarm to the idea at best.

    Ah well...

I'm excited about getting the texter/non-drivers into robot cars and restricting the robot cars to the right lane or separate roadways where they belong - for adaptive cruise control to "autopilot" Teslas. It may be less than 3 or 5 years before most new cars are sold with some kind of autopilot/robot/adaptive-cruise-control. In 10 years surely at least 90% of new passenger vehicles in USA will have it? Which new cars have the most advanced robot/autopilot/adaptive-cruise-control? GM Super Cruise seems to be the best "autopilot" today. (?) The robot/autopilot/adaptive-cruise cars are so obvious on the road because the automated systems are so wimpy compared to real drivers.

Lincoln is playing it pretty shrewd with the Navigator I think. The adverts are really aiming at getting Americans back into 1960s era road barges that act as sensory deprivation chambers, and I think Americans are ready to return to that. They're getting kind of full up with German-style comfort levels and suspension stiffness and might what to soften things up all around.

Camry may have shown that for awhile

I think it's a winning ticket for this decade. "taut" / "razor-sharp handling" "the driving machine" --all that's out the window. When people say that driving an EV is "fun" and "exciting", what are they really saying? I think they are saying that they want their peaceful little cubicle that is easy to drive, simple to operate, and makes them feel good when they step in, and....step out of it.

Id' like to drive a new Mazda 3 hatchback with manual transmission sometime soon. Also the Kona EV.

2020 camaro V8 stickshift for $34k retail is the most interesting-looking car currently - it will be as low as $30k discounted and/or with GM card. Such a deal! Also the 2020 corvette being absent the stickshift makes me significantly more interested in a 2019 corvette with stickshift.

I saw in an automotive column somewhere recently that GM either gets the Camaro volume up, or it will be gone in a couple of years. Maybe that package is a step in the right direction.
