Thanks for answering in the other thread! I posted my question in the wrong one. Oops. My dealer is offering almost $17K discount and another $12.5K rebate. Brought the price of a 2020 SE down to $54K. Should the lease calculation be from the MSRP or the adjusted price? Makes a huge difference in the lease calculation! Thanks!

The incentives for lease vs. buy are not the same. Seems doubtful you'll be able to take their purchase offer, and use that same number for a lease.

That comes to around 52500. RV is around 44% so comes to 39k approx. Deduct 7500 for federal Ev incentives.. It comes to around 5500 for the total ownership of the 3 years lease. Please let me know where am I making the mistake

I'm not sure what post you are replying to, or what you are asking.

But, as a lessee, you don't get a Federal tax credit. That goes to the owner of the vehicle (the leasing bank).

Yes I understand Bank gets the credits But here's my calculation based on @ProfCheng incentives

MSRP price = 87000
Discount = $22000
Federal Discount = $7500
Rebate = $12500
RV = 44% which comes to 38280

So My total cost of ownership is Fees( $1500 ) + MSRP - Discounts/Incentives - RV
Lease cost should be $65000( {Price after 22k discount) - $38280 - $7500 = 19220
You'll get a 12k rebate after so $19220-$12000 = $7220

So my cost would be $7200 + Fees + Taxes. Please let me know where am I making the mistake

There is no "Federal Discount".

Electric vehicles are eligible for a Federal Tax Credit. If you are the purchaser, you can claim this when you file your taxes. As a lessee, you aren't eligible to claim this tax credit.

The only incentive for the lessee is the $12,500 rebate from Jaguar.

Thanks a lot for the help. $800 on a 36 months lease comes out to be 29k.

Since Prof bought it for 52500 so 52500-29000 = 23500 which comes to around 33% of the RV. So may be in this case, they're not leasing at a base price of 52500 but are willing to sell at this price. This makes sense.

.00100 is equivalent to 2.40% APR. A huge increase... JLR Finance is essentially offering 0% financing, but the dealer is marking it up to 2.40%.
