Ugh. It has to look better in person. They can't be serious about the front end (or rear end). Might be OK in profile? We'll see...
Hello, Tata? Keep crankin' out XKs and XFs, please. See y'all soon.

I agree 100%. Acura has hit a new low, and this latest TL model has joined the ranks of history's all-time ugliest cars. These cars represent iconic ugliness. We're talking cars like Matador, Pacer, Gremlin, Aztec, Chevette, Yugo, Mercedes R-Class, Tribeca, and many, many more.
Here's a link to 50 ugly cars... and NOW we can make it 51!!!!

OMG, that TL is so ugly!
Too bad for Acura. Talk about shooting themselves in the foot...
Gee, did they forget to do a little simple market research?
TM
Any recommendation?
I'm not a particular Monitor or KEF fan. KEFs tend to be very bass lean which makes them sound thin and clinical, and I find Monitors to be rather dry. There are two "must audition" speakers that I recommend you check out, the Totem Acoustic Hawk, and Hyperion HPS-738. Both are very affordable, and absolutely fantastic sounding.
Stay far, far away from Bose.
Like you said, stay far away from Bose. They SUCK!

TB was an adjustment coming from NYC, but its smaller size and less congested highways with 80 mph allowed, made it easy. The people here seem to behave a bit better too. Where TB is deficient is its lack of quality eating places, the ugly Trop, the awful tap water and the heat.
I went to the zoo recently and loved it. A great place!
For beaches, Sarasota is better than Clearwater.
I saw the Rays play the Red Sox first time they came to the Trop this year and the place was half empty on a Sunday afternoon. This with both teams fighting for first place! Where you and I come from, games like that are usually sell outs.
Anyhow, the Rays came out of nowhere this year and I am enjoying it.
If I was in the market for a TL, I would quickly snap up a "pre-star-wars" version; one of the nicest-looking vehicles on the road, IMO.
I cannot agree more. Looks like a developed Renault Megane

(PS: At this very moment listening to Abbey Lincoln
Have not listened to B&W's, but took some reference disks to my retailer a few years back when in the market and was blown away by Mirage M5's. Coupled them with a Klipsch 15" sub that I must regulate depending on the music.
Unfortunately, had to move them to the basement due to a remodel of the music room (living room according to my wife
Using a Mirage speaker array in my home theater, with omnipolar center and rears along with M290 FL & FR. So far, terrific performance for the price!
"Stay far, far away from Bose."
Unless you are in a small apartment, could not agree more. Their systems are nicely-integrated, but do NOT provide the dynamic response you will want.
Design of the rear bumper cap looks like an expensive proposition to repair if you are tagged from behind... and that schnoz!
Probably had a liquid lunch with the line workers at the local GM plant before approval!

Also within a few weeks I got a court case for a hefty speeding ticket from last year.
I was nailed for going only 7 miles above speed limit. Also the policeman charge me for making a dangerous lane change(what a load of bunk I am going to fight this tooth and nail). I change lanes to pass a slow cement truck and change back to the original lane giving the truck upfront space of at least 50 feet. How this can be concluded to be a dangerous lane change is far beyond my comprehension.
I have nobody to blame but myself and my BMW. It just kills me to drive my car like a timid Aunt Ester. It just kills me to see all that potential of a car of mine being wasted for such incredibly dull ,tedious and slow journeys that I happen to do on a daily basis.
That's it folks! I am getting a Prius next year and I am going to make sure that no cop is going to stop me for driving below the speed limit. :lemon:
I envy you folks who are discussing fast and speedy cars. I really do! In my case my right for driving a car maybe legally threatened . To prevent such a threat I will have no choice but to drive an unexciting appliance . At least I wont be regretting my slow driving like I do with my BMW.

OW
If it was red I'd be only taking the public transit system right now. And that would not be by choice.
I was driving in and out of all three lanes, going at least 85, passing everyone in the 545i on the highway several months ago and the sheriff pulled me over and gave me nothing but "a good ol' warnin'."
Some places are obviously stricter than others.

1. Who the heck decide to post the 35-mph zone on a major 6-lane road in the metro LA area is a moron if you ask me, also
2. I think I should be praised at, not slammed at for being able to go over the speed limit in the morning LA rush hour!!
Effing commies...
During a photoshoot at the Isle of Man, the Nissan GT-R was rear-ended by an Audi that couldn’t hit the brakes in time. The team quickly got to repairing Godzilla just in time before it made its Goodwood Festival of Speed appearance. Shh, don’t tell anyone.
This same GT-R was used for the Stig’s hot lap in the latest Top Gear episode.
Wondering which Audi it was :confuse:
Traffic control specifically in my neighborhood of Toronto is just unbelievably oppressive. I mean 47 mph at a 40 MPH speed limit? I mean give me a break.
Other states here are notoriously anti-car; Virginia and Maryland come to mind.
In Tampa, they get you on the state roads with posted reduced speed limits, not the interstate. Pretty much, I guess where they got you. I really hate it when I have an MD appointment and the directions indicate 10 or more miles on those damn state roads with the 35 mph speed limits. That's where they get you.
Can anyone imagine how difficult it is to drive a 545i or 335i at 35 mph for 10 miles? One practically needs a GD Prius just to keep in the garage for those kind of trips!
Are you reconsidering a Toyota Prius.
All my tickets these past two years were all given to me within a mile vicinity from my house. Before that I NEVER got tickets except once in the 1980s.
Go figure?
I looked at Audi A6 resale some time ago on Edmunds and posted that despite what I see as some negative issues with the brand that they actually held their value as well if not slightly better than a BMW Five Series. This surprised me given the Ultimate Driving Machine's sucessful marketing campaign among the yuppies. (Rather than criticize my findings, I recall that people reacted that Audi never had any negative issues!)

It's not YOUR fault you were speeding... Blame it on the BMW.

I like it. And I'm betting that the Evora is going to be a truly wonderful car at a terrific price... a car to actually consider owning.
Evora. Hmmm?
TM
Here's another environmentally-friendly sporty car from Honda. This one isn't yet approved for production, but to me it's got the look of an S2000 replacement.
It even looks better than the CR-Z, which is the sporty hybrid coupe (I've posted the pic in the past) that WILL see production next year.
The future looks good for Honda.
TM
She's a very good looking car, and might be extremely fun to drive Is your desire working again? Lucky you.
Tick-tack, tick-tack, tick-tack :shades: :P

Yes, yes, yes, she's good-looking, but no, no, no... I have no personal desire for that kind of car right now. She's definately a car to own, and one I'd consider, but I don't want another high-end car at this point in time. After all the cars I've gone through, it's my wife's turn, quite honestly. So, if she wants one, then fine, but as gorgeous as the Lotus Evora is, I doubt that she'll want one. If I had to strictly guess, I'd say she'll want something like a Mercedes CLK 350 convertible or a BMW 328i/335i RHT convertible.
And in the not-too-distant future I will have to buy a car for my daughter. I anticipate that car will be a Honda Civic hybrid, VW Jetta, or a BMW 128i coupe. Seeing my 135i every day has caused her to fall in love with the 1-Series. Frankly, I think the Honda Civic hybrid makes the most sense for her, but we'll see.
My next personal car will most likely be a car to join (not replace) my BMW 135i convertible, which, btw, I love so much that I intend to keep her for a very long time. At this point in time, I'm not incredibly motivated to purchase another car for myself. I do have my radar on an '09 Lotus Elise Supercharged or an '09 Honda CR-Z hybrid sport coupe. Those cars probably don't excite anyone here, but they are what I'm thinking about. However, there is considerable time before those cars come out, so things can easily change before then.
So, Jose... how's your BMW been doing?
TM
If Toyota makes a Prius with 250hp, 35 mpg, on LI batteries and handles at least as good as the stock ISX350 then you betcha, I will be considering it.
hahaha no mickey mouse :P
Always had thing for the Esprit. Especially one with Barbara Bach riding shotgun!

So, hahaha, I actually do get to see Mickey Mouse! Just not speed-trap Mickey. :P
This Luxury lounge here is focused on first class fast cars. And now my focus is on very slow frugal economy third class cars. Driving my BMW 335i like a slow hybrid and getting mileage in the mid-teens is very silly indeed.
There are other exciting leisurely things in life than fast cars. I just got to figure out what those things are. Currently all the things I desire are forbidden by my wife , doctor and my anally retentive local traffic control authorities.
Anyways enough of my tiresome whining about traffic violations.
I look at the speedometer, and she's clocking way more than she feels.
So... maybe you should contemplate taking your car to the track once in a while to get that satisfaction... instead of driving fast on public roads which are littered with anal retentive traffic cops that must get their daily quota.
That's one reason I am considering the Lotus. If I get it, it will be with the intention of going to the track once in a while. Otherwise, it's the CR-Z hybrid.
Tricky decision. 180 degrees from each other. Fortunately, I still have lots of time to mull it over. :confuse:

At least this part of BMW is doing really well.

As a fellow left-coaster, allow me to welcome you to the board.

What are you driving, or perhaps what cars do you really like?
