Usually when I'm looking, if they've posted anything from remotely the same region from the same month in the trims I'm interested in then that's going to be close enough for negotiating purposes.

And I understand that Jaguars Sept programs are national.

In any case I am in 07653 and a local dealer quoted me 36/10 - .00051 MF (and they didn’t tell me the residual…)

Granted, the higher MF, at 1.2%, isn’t the (main) problem I am having with getting a good deal. Apparently, stocks are very low, especially for cars that are not loaded… They are not offering a single discount, and worse, they also deny there is any lease cash…

But if I do my lease through JLR/Chase (factory finance) and have excellent credit, the question here is,are dealers allowed to bump up the MF and hide the dealer lease cash?

I was hoping an existing customer would get better treatment, but I guess the dealers need to squeeze the most they can out of every deal on their limited supply… very short sighted. I have 6 months to go on my 2017 XE lease and might have to wait until the end of the year and/or when (if…) the inventory increases. Otherwise will move on to another brand…

I guess dealers think playing with the numbers that way, instead of, say, marking up the price of the car if they are in short supply, is a better sales tactic. As long as they sell in the timing they want/need then can't expect them to discount.

A far cry from end of 2017 when I got my XE Premium with some decent options, with a sticker of over $43k for $400/month ($428 after adding wheel insurance...) 39/12k all included, with zero OOP, just 1st month and drive. Was hoping to get an entry level E-Pace or even F-Pace for proportionally the same, region $500-$600/month all included even with 10k/year... with a big refresh of the F-Pace coming 2021 maybe in December dealers will play ball, will of course depend on stock levels.

Can't compare the lease environment from 3 years ago to today. I leased a Jetta in 2016 for around $200/mo - today, that same car would be $250-275/mo.

Until inventory levels balance out, don't expect to see great deals on many new cars.
