I got home from the dealership with some hard numbers. They offered me a 36 month lease. 4k in trade for my old car, 1500 down, 277.28 a month. .53 residual .00056 mf. I plugged the offer into the lead deal form and it said I was getting a good deal.

I told them I needed to sleep on the offer. It seems like a pretty good deal to me but I'm interested in hearing opinions.

How many miles per year?

$4K equity from your car, plus $1500 from you? I'm not sure I'd agree with the "good deal" the site is giving you.

What is the MSRP and selling price of the car in question?
What ZIP code?

For the Bolt, the numbers look to be national. So, I call bunk on the dealer.

I think it's entirely possible that a ZEV state like California could have extra dealer incentives that we don't know about. But, I'd certainly check around with other dealers. A local dealer is not going to budge, based on an ad from a dealer that is 3000 miles away.

28801 is the zip. MSRP is 43,945. 10k miles.

I walked last night after spending several hours there working on just that deal. They said they couldn't come down on the MSRP or offer me any dealer cash that isn't advertised in my area. So far the only things they seem willing to even negotiate on are my trade, and the MF. The first offer had an MF of .00153. when I noticed that I asked about the .00053 MF I'd seen here and all of a sudden the lease price went way down.

If I go back I'd sure like to have some more ammo for negotiation. So far everything you guys have told me has been really helpful. I'll keep taking notes. Thanks!

Call around or email, and see who is responsive. Then, pick your best option, go in, and pound it.

Hi guys. I wanted to post a quick update, thanking you all for your advice and assistance. I drove home a fully loaded 2020 Bolt Premiere. I signed a 36 month, 10k mile, lease for $277/m with no cash down plus my trade valued at 4000. Everyone I talked to was saying to avoid cash down on a lease and man was that good advice. I could have probably held out for longer and done better but in the end I think I got an OK deal. I don't live in a ZEV state so there are fewer rebates and incentives available.

I want to thank the moderators here for the great work that they do! Last night I was able to sign a 36 month, 10k mile a year One Pay lease on an almost 40,000 Bolt LT for a total of approximately $7214 after combining dealer discount, my Volt Loyalty rebate and the GM College Discount. Zero sales tax in NJ on electric vehicles. Adding in my $590 in GM Buypower earnings and my $1,000.00 Buypower bonus brought the total down to approximately $5,624. The new $5,000 electric vehicle rebate from NJ will further reduce the total cost of the lease to approximately $624.00 once I apply for it and receive the check!
