Also

Why is the residual SO far off and why would the very slightly more expensive Jeep be a lower monthly payment? Thank you!

Currently working with a dealer on a lease for 2021 Unlimited Sahara Altitude 4xe. They sent the lease worksheet over from Ally and it includes a markup factor of 1.10% (first time I have seen that before) along with a Rent Charge of $12,567.07 .

Markup Factor: 1.10%
Marked Up MSRP: $63,684.50
Rent Charge: $12,567.07
Residual: 71%
Term: 39/10
MF: 8.09 (Tier 1)
Mo. Payment: $629.32

OK, now I get it.

The prices on the right are for "cash option" - that's for a purchase, not a lease.

In MA, you pay tax on the monthly payment, so the tax amount can be ignored.

I'd still ask for a screen shot of their actual lease worksheets, with the correct amounts. Be polite, but firm, with these requests.

The lease charge is the finance portion of the lease payment.
At 7.35% APR, it's going to be hefty.

Full price for the Jeep, with no discount. It is what it is.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't quote a Chrysler Capital lease at .00195 MF and 65% residual.
Seems the payment would have been within a couple of dollars, either way. (lower MF and lower residual)

Of course, one explanation could be that the Ally base rate is actually lower than what they are giving you, and they are using Ally to make more money (even though the payment is the same as Chrysler Capital). Since we don't know the Ally rate, no way to know if that's it.

Thanks for all your help. I am working with this dealer as I was referred. When I asked them to run Chrysler numbers the residual came down to about 65% and the interest rate is down to 5% with approximately the same payment

As I noted. What we don't know, is if the Ally lease program is actually better, but instead of giving you the benefit, they are taking it for themselves, by marking up the rate.
