Hello, I was wondering if what happened to me is true, or has happened to other people. So was hoping for some feedback. On Saturday i went to the dealership and made a deal for the Jeep Cherokee Limited for $360/month, 36 month lease, 12k/month. They went looking for the car and couldn't find it, and found out that someone else sold that car to enterprise. So they said that since had a deal, they would look for the same vehicle at another dealership. I got the call yesterday that they got the vehicle, and for me to come and get it. I went in this morning, and they went working to get the paperwork and numbers, came back 20 mins later stating that the programs have changed on Monday, and are trying to workout the numbers to be like it was on Saturday. They come back to me stating they couldn't do it, and programs changed drastically....and their best offer now is $399/month for 42 month lease. I told them No, and i was sure that programs change monthly. They stated they usually do, but because of the car shortage, that the companies can change them at anytime. I left. But my thinking is did the programs really change, or are they trying to mark up the price on me to make up for money lost on getting the vehicle from another dealership? Can someone provide an answer or thought on this? Thanks

The CCAP programs (the only ones we have) have not changed since the beginning of the month.
What the dealer says may be true, may be false, but since you don't have anything in writing, it doesn't much matter.
The market is completely upside down at the moment, and dealers are trying to maximize their profit on every vehicle they have in stock, since they don't know when they'll be getting more.

Any idea on how long to postpone it for? My lease ends at the end of July. Might be able to extend by 3 months.

Keep an eye out on the business media - I'm sure there will be stories about new vehicle inventory. Guesses are all over the map, at the moment.

I'll do my best to be looking out for it. From what dealers and others are saying, is that it will be a long time like this. Hope not.

I've seen reports that the chip shortage (and resultant lack of new car inventory) could stretch into 2022...

Thats what i thought. like wtf. my jeep in 2018...which is a 2019 cherokee limited was a $36k suv...paying $297.
Don't compare deals from 3 years ago to today.
Nobody is getting a comparable deal, now.
I'd guess my $225/mo Jetta lease from 2016 would be closer to $275-300/mo, now.

What is the Arrigo Advantage for $2483?
That, plus a $1000 doc fee are adding $100/mo. to the payment.
