Deal I got yesterday on a Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition with Black Interior in the northeast corner of NJ/lower part of NY state.

Selling Price $30,056
Cap Cost $32,489
Money Factor 0.0005 or 1.2% (money factor X 2400 = implied interest rate)
3 year 25K miles residual $15,287 or 48.5%

A couple of additional notes. If you want residuals for non-standard leases I found this site was pretty close to what I ultimately consistently was told by a number of dealers https://residuals.cula.com/vehicleresidualcalculator/consumer-lease.aspx. Around my area, I found dealers were low balling my trade-in value (dealers quoting $17,250 - $19,000) and then giving me a discount off MSRP on the vehicle but if I pulled the trade-in the deal changed (I think they were looking to capture value on the trade hoping I was more focused on the selling price). Also, many dealers were adding in additional fees between the Selling Price and the Gross Capitalized cost so they were giving you what looked like an upfront discount off MSRP but capturing that back through fees. Last, dealers were actually quoting me different sales tax rates on the same deal (no trade just a lease of the car - the one I put down the deposit with is calculating tax off the Selling Price + taxable fees - residual where as other dealers were telling me you pay tax on the Selling Price + taxable fees without subtracting out the residual, which was ~ $1,000 difference). When I added up all the differences the deal I agreed to yesterday was $6,000 - $8,500 less than what I was quoted at other dealers (all within a 30min 20mile radius). I always check the dealer's calculations using a NPV function on a calculator, so in case there are some people who haven't done a lease calculation on a calculator based on the info. above with no money down and no incentives (I did put money down and got a $750 loyalty incentive which I would subtract from the Cap Cost, i.e. if I put $2,000 down and got a $750 incentive the Cap Cost would become $29,739) here is how to do it. Your present value is minus your Cap Cost (-$32,489) (minus because it is an outflow for your bank/financing company), your number of periods is 36 (months), your interest rate is 0.1% (1.2% divided by 12months per year) and your future value is $15,287 (because it is an inflow for your bank/financing company at the end of the lease someone is going to pay them that amount of money for the car - you or they are going to sell it) so after putting that info in and hitting the payment button on your calculator for your monthly payments you should get something close to $502.01, depending on how many decimals your calculator uses/has the capability to use (this should be within a $ or 2 of what the dealership gives you from their computer (generally has more registers/0s so your calculator may be rounding but should be very close). If you don't get what the dealer is telling you the payment is ask questions to reconcile (I found they frequently did not disclose all the fees they were adding in to get to the Capitalized Cost they were using). Also, if you have a trade-in subtract the trade-in value less any outstanding debt on the car (your net equity) from the Capitalized Cost (treat it just like cash and add in any additional cash you are putting down or incentives to arrive at the total value you are subtracting from the original Capitalized Cost) and use that figure as your Capitalized Cost (or if it is clearer your Adjusted Capitalized Cost).
