    I show .00058 and 57%

Slight markup to the MF, which adds $14/mo to the pre-tax payment.

I agree with the math; if this is the best you can do after shopping multiple dealers, I don't have any further advice for you.

    I'm not in the market.

Have you shopped multiple dealers? Is this the best offer you have? If so, you've answered your own question.

    Hello
I am leasing a Mercedes Benz. The residual value for my zip code is 57%. The dealer is only offering 55% RV. Is dealer allowed to tweak this percentage?

No, the dealer can't adjust the residual.

Either it is a different model, a different term, a different mileage allowance, or it might be a demo/loaner.

    Or, a communication issue.

It is a demo car and all my other lease offers are for demos as well, and those leases are at 57%. Can I negotiate this?

The residual isn't negotiable. It's possible this unit has higher mileage than the other ones. Or, the other dealers didn't bother to tell you their demos would have a lower adjusted residual to account for mileage.

Or, as I mentioned, a communication issue.

$6200 seems way out of line for sales tax and fees.

If you have an offer in mind, just make that offer. See what happens.
But, no way I put $11K upfront on a lease.

Yes, I am in Chicago and also thought the $6,200 seemed extremely high but wanted to get an opinion as I am new to leasing and all the things associated with it.

I was thinking of the following:

    MSRP - $47,320
    Sale - $45,422

    $0 Down
    Residual - 56%
    MF - .00058

    First Month Payment - $626
    Upfront Fees - $1,795
    Upfront Taxes - $133
    Total Drive Off ($2,553)

    36 mo Payment - $626

Is this a decent monthly price/offer? Or can I do better here. Looking at the Lunar Blue with Premium Package.

Again, any and all advice is appreciated and welcome. I am a noobie and looking to the pros to help me out with any cost savings I might be missing. I think $626 is a tad high still would rather be in the $500s but not sure how to get down without cash down. I will also be trading in my 2007 BMW 328i but I don't want to bring that in until I get the price I want.

Illinois sales taxes are collected upfront (or rolled into the CAP cost). AFAIK, the city of Chicago collects their 9% tax monthly on the payment.

It's a lot of tax. I can't imagine leasing in Chicago. If you have $11K and a trade-in, just buy the car.

I do not intend on putting 11k down and I guess that is my question. Is there a way to lease this where I can trade-in and put $0 cash down and end up ~$575 monthly? Or is this not feasible because I am living in Chicago and should instead look to buy?

I don't know what your car is worth.
But, if that's the deal you want, offer a little bit less than that, and see what they say.
(but, as noted earlier, I wouldn't want to pay 7.2% tax to IL, and another 9% tax to Chicago to lease)

Went to the dealer yesterday to test drive the 2021 C300 AWD Sedan with Premium Package. They would not let me keep or take a picture of the lease sheet so I will try to post numbers off memory...

    $47,320 MSRP
    $44,000 Sale Price
    $0 Cash Down
    $0 Drive-off
$1,000 Trade-in Value (am going to try and give $1,000 cash instead of trading in... not happy with valuation here)

    $599 / mo for a 48-month lease with 10,000 miles

Was not given RV or MF. Any thoughts on this deal? Should I take it or try to get more out of it?

P.S. - I live in Chicago so I have to deal with all the taxes that go with that...

$45,800 adjusted CAP, assuming 9% Chicago sales tax on the payment.
    Seems about right

$35/mo. more to move to a 36 month lease.

Actually, a reasonable deal, given what else we've seen.

Thanks a ton for your help and quick responses, I know I have been asking a lot of questions (some of which may be very nooby!)

Based on the above do you think I should take the deal or try to bite off a little more? Don't want to get too greedy either...

P.S. - I live in Chicago so I have to deal with all the taxes that go with that...

    .00058 MF and 45% residual

$45,800 adjusted CAP, assuming 9% Chicago sales tax on the payment.
    Seems about right

$35/mo. more to move to a 36-month lease.

Actually, a reasonable deal, given what else we've seen.
Thanks a ton for your help and quick responses, I know I have been asking a lot of questions (some of which may be very nooby!)

Based on the above do you think I should take the deal or try to bite off a little more? Don't want to get too greedy either...

    Hi Michaell,

Thank you for the September numbers. A couple additional questions:

. The MBUSA special offers web site mentions a "suggested dealer contribution of $999" in the details of their lease offer- is this some kind of lease incentive available this month?

. Can you tell me the maximum number of MSDs I can put down for this lease, and what the MF reduction would come to maxed out?

Thanks very much for all your help!

Dealer contribution = discount from sticker. Good luck getting that in this market

    MSDs = max 10 x .00007 each
