    The fact that they keep quoting the MF as a percentage leads me to believe this may not be a Kia Motors Finance lease.

    If I add the doc and reg fees to the selling price, and use the numbers for 36/10, I get $382/mo plus tax.

    I'd push for the screen shot of the lease worksheet - that should show us all the numbers we need to understand how they got the payment they're quoting.

    If they balk, you have to ask yourself why.

    Sorry for my ignorance…I’m learning. I recently looked at a 2022 K5 GT line w/ Premium package- MSRP $30,850. (Zip code 08831). The dealership was adding $3995 “market adjustment. I was willing to put down $5000 plus pay the taxes and fees separate. He quoted me a ridiculous number of $460 a month, 36/12. He wouldn’t give me the money factor…just said “about 4% interest on loan”. He wouldn’t tell me the residual either. Am I nuts for thinking this is simply a scam? How can he charge me over $21,000 on a vehicle with a near $31,000 MSRP? He also refused to honor the $330 lease cash from KIA stating “we don’t do that”. Am I wrong for being furious at these numbers? Does Hyundai even care what their dealerships are doing to their customers?

    FWD or AWD?

    $4K over MSRP, even with $5K down, will make for a lousy lease quote.

    Shop around, or look into buying instead of leasing.

    I can’t even get them to tell me how they are arriving at the residual. I firmly believe they are manipulating that number down to increase the lease cost (lower residual, higher monthly payments). It’s beyond frustrating!

    Dealers are not permitted to alter the residual. The residual is based on the full MSRP. Regardless of the sale price.
