Yes, dealer is marking up the MF the max allowed.

Tell them you want the base MF or you'll find another dealer.

The mileage allowances are annual. So, a 24/10 lease would have 20K miles available, over the two years. If you are only driving 3K/yr, not sure that leasing is a good idea. You'd be paying for miles you would never use.

Maybe, or maybe not. For example, I can sell my 2020 Acura MDX ($50.5k msrp) to CarMax ($41k) today for $3,000 more than I "paid" ($38k) for it 2 years and 4 months ago, on a 7.5/36 lease. But, I put $2k down, factory incentive was $3,250, for total cap cost reduction of $5250. If I (Carmax) pay off the lease (RV plus rem payments and fees), in theory, I could walk away with maybe $10k. My cost per month to have driven the MDX would work out to be $87 per month. Thoughts?

The last couple of years have been a "once in a lifetime" situation. You leased the car when rates were low and discounts were high. Since then, used car values have shot up, due to the lack of new car inventory.

Now, the new car is expensive and rates are high. There are no incentives. Expecting all of that to happen again defies reality.

Does your Acura only have 10K miles on it? Buy the lease out for $30K, and enjoy driving an almost new car for $11K under current wholesale value.

I have always said I would rather be lucky than good! For once, I had good timing. I do like your buyout and keep idea. I forgot to mention another variable other than MF, RV, MSRP...the WF...Wife Factor. LOL.

Yeah, I get it. But, this is the worst time to lease a car, even if you have $10K. 6K mile MDX will be a nice car with more room than a new CX-5. You could drive that car for three more years, and still get a great price for it with just 15K miles on the odometer.
