If the intent is to lower monthly payments, I can understand. But, if you put 10K into something that can earn even a miniscule amount of interest, you're still better off than 0%. Just a thought, and again, no offense intended.
Invoice on an FWD: 30206
Destination: 750 (normally)
Tax Title License: ~8% (FL is 6% tax; figure 2% for tax and title)
-----------------------------------------
Total: 33432
So you're getting out of there roughly $600 under what I would consider a straight invoice price.
IMO, I think its a pretty good deal and one of the reasons it might be selling under what can normally be got is that a GT with no options is probably not a highly sought after car. But then again, I haven't pulled the trigger yet on a purchase so I can't say exactly what I would settle for :shades:
Invoice: $31498
Bose / Moon roof: $1939
Power LF Gt: $344
Total: $33781
Something I'm never sure of in this forum is whether people are including destination or not when they release figures before TTL. What's the standard?
B/c with destination of $750, you're pretty close: $34531
Since the destination charge is posted on the invoice of every car, and is considered part of the cost, I have no idea why people and some dealers choose to exclude it from their pricing!
One item you are forgetting about the S-Plan is the regional assessment charge (advertising fee) that is also billed to the car. It is roughly $400 on a CX-9
What do you think?
If that truly does include everything (TTL + invoice + destination), I'd be pretty happy with that. That's going in my coffer of deals to note when negotiating.
Is that with $1000 back or with 0% fiancing?

I cannot speak for the South East Region, however, here in the North East, Mazda pays nothing but holdback on the CX-9's. I can promise you, it's no where near $3,000.
If you buy at one location but want to get warranty and service at another location is this ok? There are at least 5 locations in my general area that I would drive to in order to get a better price, but for the most part there is really only one close enough for service/warranty.
Thanks, J~

AM ALSO TRADING AN 07 CX9 WITH ALL THE ABOVE BUT RED MICA IN GOOD TO EXCELLENT COND WITH 31K MILES. WOULD 23K BE A REASONABLE ASK FOR MY TRADE IN?
Invoice after holdback on GT = $30,303
Invoice on Moonroof/Bose = $1939
Invoice on liftgate for GT = $344
White Pearl = $172
Total = $32,758 ($32,500 would be a great deal)
So Ark, as of now, you are paying $1000 over invoice for the vehicle on the last week of the quarter which, in my impression, is not a great deal. I would offer the dealer in person $1,000 less, tell them you are ready to buy today, and if they don't take the deal or try to meet you in the middle, walk out and go to another dealer. Make sure the dealer has your cell phone number and I am sure they will call you. Also, the midwest region has an extra $1,500 in dealer incentives. Just a hunch, might be might be able to get this vehicle for $31,000 across the river in IL which is in that region. I would shop some dealers there as well. Let me know how it goes!
That is because mazdaduck might be giving you completely unrealistic sense of what you could buy the car for in your area.
Dealers do not operate based on quarterly sales, only monthly sales. The manufacturer does operate on quarterly sales, however, it is not their job to sell cars below invoice to make sales expectations. Its the dealers decision to do that, and if the dealer is satisfied with sales and inventory supply, then there is no reason to lose money on a transaction. If you really want to get technical when buying a car, you need all the facts first.
9 times out of 10, you get a better deal by shopping online rather then walking into a dealership. The way you are shopping is the best way to get the best deal possible. Good luck!
How would you rate this deal. It was done back in Nov 2009, so the dynamics may have changed a bit since then.
