    My Hyundai Dealer in 60435, my home Zip code is 61853.
    I am looking at an Ioniq 5 SEL AWD Gray Interior and Cyber Gray exterior.
    Trying to figure out what a good deal is on a lease, and if I buy it out right away how much I would be writing on the check to HMF.
    The dealers don't seme to be able to compute this or are confused by the question.
    Here is a breakdown one of the dealers gave me:

    Yes, that's how it would work.

    You are still paying interest on the lease, and to exit it early, the bank expects their money that they lent.

    The balance on the right is what is input into the lease calculator to get the $761 payment. But, I'm not sure about the sales tax amount - in IL, you pay sales tax on the sum of the lease payments only, and $2400 seems pretty high.

    Either way, you cannot buy the lease out for at least 30/60/90 days after it's started (depends on the HMF policies).

    You are correct. Generally, you don't pay the rent charge on any uncollected payments, when buying out the lease.

    But, the dealer has nothing to do with a buyout, and won't help you calculate it. Also, you might not know how long the lease has to be in force, before the rebate gets added back into the buyout amount.
