Yes, I feel certain that the first one is being run through another bank. And, I'm not sure why, as it results in a higher payment for you.

On the 2nd one, through SMF, the money factor is marked up by .00050. Getting the base rate would save you $33/mo. Going back to 15K/yr on that lease would add $20/mo.

I'd also work on the selling price. it appears they are charging full MSRP. On a 2023 model, it seems you could work some sort of discount.

100%, sale price is way too high. You need to negotiate for at least invoice price, if not lower. That would be somewhere over $2,000 lower than the price above. Invoice on a limited manual is $36,100 fyi... so depending on what accessories they put on there, its a good starting point.

All my local dealerships are selling @ invoice and lower right now for 23's.

working with a dealer on a few WRXs... can anyone let me know if the following fees seem typical? Getting over 2k off MSRP but there is so much stuff tacked on the cap cost is over 34k...

Captilized taxes - 1108.4
Acquisition - 650.

Payment is about 454 which includes $1700 in equity from my last lease and 1st month down... that seems sort of insane for a 30k car. (36y/ 10k for reference)

Thanks, MF does keep going down which makes me think I should wait till March. Rate slowly dropping thankfully.
Yea, regarding fees on leases... an extra 3k to accommodate for everytime is a hard pill to swallow. I just dont recall seeing govt fees as a line item before, though it might be added with proc/doc for some places.

Keep in mind that Subaru can drop lease support at any time for the 2023 models. Don't wait so long that you miss out.

Hmm. that is an interesting change. I was hoping the rates would keep dropping . These numbers end up a little worse for anyone leasing and interested in buying at the end as the rates went up and the depreciation went up 4% from last month which is such a weird month to month increase. Like they realize they dramatically overestimated how much this car would depreciate.

Overall though, lease payment would be cheaper under these new terms.

It's all designed to hit a particular payment. If you want to own the car, I'd just buy it.

It's all designed to hit a particular payment. If you want to own the car, I'd just buy it.

yea of course, always better to just buy up front if you know that ahead of tiem. I just tend to hyper analyze this stuff sometimes.

This month to month change ends up making the payment lower by about 24 bucks a month on a premium, but its a net loss if you want to buy the car at the end as it means about a $1500 increase on EOL buyout. about a 800-900 dollar difference in total cost to own if you buy it out.

What are people paying for '23's nowadays? I got this quote today, tried to negotiate and he wasn't having it. I made a fairly aggressive offer of $31,500 OOD, which he balked at but didn't even counter. I guess my question is: Is this a fair offer for a previous year, base model WRX?

Have you shopped other dealers to see if they can beat this offer? I've found that dealers rarely negotiate against themselves.

I’m still waiting for a couple of other quotes to come in, but I will definitely use this offer if necessary. Besides the price, I’m just not crazy about the color.
