Why work with a broker when you have the same information? How do they get paid?

We actually dug around and found out exactly which dealer has the car the broker is selling. Same price, same specs, same color, same everything.

I wouldn't "show" the dealer anything, but now that you have the information, you can negotiate with the dealer directly.

The only reason, that I can see, to use a broker is if you don't have the time, or the inclination, to do the work yourself.

I see and totally understand. We went around talking to 5-6 dealers asking for at least 10% off MSRP, standard manufacturer credits (7.5k), the best deal we got was 7% off MSRP, most were below 5%. That's why we decided to talk to a broker. Within an hour, broker sent us the deal we like.
