Not sure if my dealer was just blowing smoke or not (though they had been very straight forward and upfront about everything else) but they said the .0021 MF is only for cars on the lot. If you are picking up a custom factory order it is .0025.

Nope.. that may be that dealer's policy, but the .00210 is available to everyone with top tier credit, regardless of order or taking off the lot.

Question to the wise: when I go to the BMW lease deals website (https://www.bmwusa.com/special-offers.html), the numbers there seem to suggest a money factor much lower than 0.0021. I've tried several lease calculators, but I can't get the monthly payments that are shown there with 0.0021. Can someone shed light on why that is? TIA.

However, many advertised deals are missing essential data to calculate a payment.

When I use the adjusted CAP cost provided in the example for an i4 e35i of $42,020, with a money factor of .00210 and residual of 54%, I get the same payment of $499 given in the example.

If you aren't getting the same number, then you are either making assumptions that aren't in evidence, or misapplying the numbers, in some way.

Keep in mind, the adjusted CAP cost has already taken into account all discounts and incentives. There is no need to adjust that number.

It's not the calculations, it's where you put the numbers (or, don't). The adjusted CAP cost is already figured for you. From there, it's just four numbers: MSRP, adjusted CAP, residual and money factor. Plug those in the formula, and you'll get your payment.
