    If this is the wrong forum please let me know. I have a 2022 Tucson hybrid with 25k on it and 3 payments left on my lease. I have roughly $1-2k trade equity (kbb trade estimate)

    The dealership called me and said they will pay my last 3 payments plus $900 to get me into a new lease.

    I love my car and wouldn't mind buying it except used rates are horrible right now.

    So I'm wondering if I should just ride the lease out and maybe rates will be lower in May but my equity will be less and i will be spending $1200 more in lease payments and i will need new tires this year plus brake work in 1-2 years.

    or lease a 24 Tucson hybrid OR a plug in hybrid which seems to be cheaper with incentives now.

    Pretty sure the dealership's angle is just to buy out my car and tell me that they waived the payments since they know I have equity in it, but honestly it doesn't matter I just want to make the best deal possible.

    Any thoughts from the experts?

    That's a lot of moving parts.

    But, if you have trade-in equity, then you're likely buying out the car for $4K less than if you were shopping for an identical used car from a dealer. Seems like a deal.

    And, when you lease, you're paying finance charges, as well... so, maybe not that much savings from that view point.

    That's true but the MF right now on a lease seems a lot better than 7% used interest.

    And I'll only be in it 2.5-3 years where hopefully the rates will have lowered substantially vs a 5-7 year used loan. But again it's definitely a trade off either way.

    The standard lease program is better, but by no means great.

    Nothing is leasing well in the current market - especially smaller SUVs, which everybody seems to want.
