I was looking to replace my Mazda CX-9 2022 in the past few months. The maturity was in March 2024, but I have almost run out of allocated mileage. I was more interested in getting a PHEV and tried a few times with no luck until I saw this month that the PHEV residual dropped, and the money factor was not the best. I found that the Preferred Plus comes with a good residual and money factor, along with an extra $2,000 lease cash. Also, I could stack this $2,000 with $500 loyalty and $1,500 lease-to-lease loyalty from CX-9 to CX-90.
The main challenge I had for the CX-9 Sport was the trade-in value. This was a base model, and in 2022, very few of them were manufactured, and not enough MMR data is available for trade-in. My payoff was $28,000, and I was getting offers ranging from $24,000 to $27,000 for the trade-in value. Initially, I tried to use a broker, but their numbers were too off.

My target price for the $47,275 MSRP was a 10% discount on MSRP for the vehicle value and getting a $29,000 trade-in value (which is almost the retail value). Based on these numbers and my calculation, my target price was $430 per month for 24 months sign and drive or $400 for 30 months with 9 security deposits ( dropping MF from 0.00074 to 0.00002)for 12,000 miles.

I was looking for a special color (Platinum Quartz Metallic), and a few of them were available. I got different quotes from different dealers ranging from $600 to $446 and finally ended up with $439.61 sign and drive. Thanks again for all of your help.

    MSRP : $47725
    Agreed Car value : $43714.70
    Residual Value $32147
    Rent Charge:$321.73
    lease payment:24
    Monthly payment : $439.61
