I got the Hyundai Elantra SE; 36/10k. Lease deal $355/month with zero money down, aside from first month’s payment. .00256 MF with credit coming in at 718, though technically I was in the third tier, which would have been higher.

I went in wanting to get the HyundaiUSA’s website incentive of $199/mo lease, 36, $3,499 due at signing with the goal of not putting anything down at all. They didn’t have an SE that hit the retail price of $22,775, and they weren’t budging. This deal took a total of SIX HOURS. It was a lot.

In the end, I held strong, was ready to walk, and got exactly what I wanted — with the extreme help of my cousin who pointed me to this forum and gave me a very quick 101 on all of this over the past two days!!

Correct, if good credit, how much to put upfront is up to you. Naturally, the amount of the down payment will affect the payment in a relative sense.

Dealer I am talking to says they use "sell rate MF" and that is currently .00292. They told me buy rate MF is .00252.

I can't find any info on the difference so I thought I would post here.

Are they just playing games?

They are marking up the money factor for extra profit

So they should be able to still do it .00252 right? They are saying they do this because they are "no negotiation". Seems to me that these cars can't be negotiated much anyway as far as price goes so they are just trying to squeeze me with the higher MF, right?
