The Outback has a similar F/R torque split, though not nearly as large as the C43.
I can, on snow covered roads, get the back end to come out, just slightly, letting me indulge in my Scandanavian rally fantasies.
I can't believe you've had that car for 10 years already. I also can't wrap my head around the fact that MY 2015 cars are 10 years old. I know you aren't getting rid of it, but have you run that through Carvana to see what they'd offer you?
I get updates from them (and CarMax) on a regular basis. I think the last number was just over $12K.
Trust me, if my financial situation were to change for the better, there would be a serious talk about replacing it (or, alternatively, me getting something more fun in addition to the Subaru).
lol. It is a 2014 built in 2013, but we bought it in 2016 so we have had it for 8 years. Before covid the Carvana price was $11000 When there was a shortage of cars during and after covid they'd give me $16000. I checked about a month ago and they'd give me $8000. If you looked at it or drove it and didn't know you'd think it was a 3 year old car. I'd have to pay 3 times as much to get something as good......46000 miles on it, engine is perfectly clean. No backup camera unfortunately. If you have a car that isn't causing you trouble, you can't win trading it in, unless it is because you need want something better or different.

Dealers prices seem to have really dipped lately. Check it again.....$12000 sounds a bit high if the C250 is $8000.....and came down suddenly.
Before the snow melted completely off the driveway I took the C43 out to see how it handled the remaining snow/ice. The AMG Performance 4Matic AWD system has a fixed F/R torque split of 39/61 and low and behold, even with all the stability systems enabled it is easy to induce some entertaining oversteer with the accelerator pedal. It's probably the most neutral handling car I've ever owned; powering out of a corner you never have a hint of understeer- it just goes. I initially thought a fixed F?R torque split was a bit of a downgrade, but in practice it just isn't. If you could set the transfer case to send 100% of the power to the rear on demand it would be perfect; I miss the ability to do burnouts...
I went in to the office on this snowy day here, my 4Matic wagon on Blizzaks didn't miss a beat. I actually look forward a little to driving in snow, although I enjoy it infinitely more when there are few others on the road - I left just a little early today to avoid traffic, and it was a nice drive in this weather arriving later than normal.

Just because I want to… I’m taking the EQE to work tomorrow with a planned nuisance storm. I am curious how it does. Assuming it will be great being a 4 matic.
Burnouts…. My truck will absolutely light up the tires on command traction control or not. Because I’m a child…. right before it goes back in August I’m going to have some fun with it!
lease coming due already? Time flies! any idea what will replace it, now that you will be piling up miles commuting on something?

Knowing Tom, he'll try to find a clean Lincoln Town Car for the commute.
Truck will be replaced with another truck or Full size SUV. I used for hauling much more than I realized.
I’ve already been looking at a used comfy cruiser for the commute as a third car. We will be going back and forth to the shore much more often now too since I’m not full WFH.
Short list -
Toyota Avalon
Buick LaCrosse
ES350
Caddy XTS
Something in the 2012-16 area with under 75K should fall around 16-18K. Lots of examples out there. The LaCrosse is the cheapest of the group.

Had my maverick in for some software updates and picked it up last night. While there I wandered the showroom. No luck with a refreshed 2025 mav but they did have a 4 door F150. Clambered into that beast and remembered how huge they are. Pretty much eliminated any thoughts of upgrading to a full sized truck. Bed is nice. And I guess option to tow a bigger trailer. But I just can’t see piloting around something that large for where I drive.
If some brand was smart they would bring back the cab and a half version of a maverick sized truck. Small back seat storage area with suicide doors and a 6 foot bed!

Nissan Frontier still offers the King Cab configuration - not sure if it has the rear jump seats or not, though.

Just make sure the cheap Lacrosse isn’t the 4-cyl.
I’ve read the timing chain issues of the 3.6 were largely resolved by 2014, so I THINK you should be good.

Don’t sleep on the last-gen Impala, which was just a Lacrosse or a XTS in a different suit. The LTZ model was very nice.
I really liked the Chrysler 3OOC that I had as a rental some years back. It was fully equipped with pano roof, leather, Alpine stereo, memory, leather and wood heated steering wheel, etc. The 3.6 had good power and didn’t swill gas.

Just got an email from KIA stating the TESLA Super Charger "plug" would be sent to me in 4-6 weeks.
That's available for the Ariya, but my need for the ability to charge at Superchargers is minimal, especially given that the Ariya doesn't charge super fast on level 3.

I can do a burnout with the pickup with no problem since it’s RWD. I probably could spin ‘em on the Chrysler but because of its age I don’t like to beat it. The Kia? Theoretically it should be able to do it since it has about the same horsepower as the Chrysler and weighs a little less.
But what I consider a burnout is the type of rubber burning, patch laying asphalt autographs that you see etched into any country road. For that you need a little more horsepower and a limited slip differential. I know my FWD cars don’t have that.

I've been actually on the lookout for a now deceased Acura RLX. I remember test driving one when I was buying one of my TL(s). BIG car, but handled small. Had electric motors and the 3.7L V6 (the most powerful version of that engine). It had everything today's cars have...GPS, KILLER stereo, comfortable, quick.
They didn't sell many. I love Acuras and even I thought it was overpriced. Still, a car I was dutifully impressed by and keep on the lookout for one on the used market.
It's a slow Friday so I'll leave you with a Dennis O'Sullivan column that was different;
QUESTION I hope that you can help me with a glass outlet that installed my rear door glass. About two weeks ago, the rear glass on the back door of my SUV broke when I slammed the door shut when it was covered with ice. That was a mistake and I admit that. I took the van to a reputable glass store to have the glass replaced. They did replace the glass for me but one week later, the glass cracked while driving over a rough road. I took the van back and the owner told me that there was a sign that the interior of the glass was chipped, which in his words, something hit the glass from the inside to crack it. I took the van to another glass outlet and they told me that the glass was installed wrong and that is what cracked the glass. I went back to the glass installer and he basically told me that he did not care what another glass outlet had to say and he was not going to replace my rear door glass for free. The only good thing about my experience with this man is that he saved me over two hundred dollars on the glass replacement. Can you use your platform to help me get the glass replaced? Dan ANSWER I did check this out for you and yes, I did find that you had the glass replaced on your rear door. I do not know if this outlet is reputable or not because I have never heard of his company. I found out that he worked for another glass company and now he operates a small business, installing automotive glass out of his garage. There is nothing the matter with an entrepreneur going out on his own and I wish him the best. He was adamant that there was clear evidence of a chip on the inside of the glass which resulted in a crack. I have emailed you once and did not receive an answer for the name of the glass company that told you that the glass was installed improperly. I have also made two appointments for you to have an expert, who I know, look at the glass to see if there was evidence of an installation problem or whether it was chipped like the first glass installer indicated. You have missed both appointments so I will leave you with this to chew over. I wasted a considerable amount of time trying to help you and this is what I recently found out. You cracked the rear door glass by trying to put your friend’s electric snow blower into your vehicle’s rear compartment and then shutting the rear door on the blower handle. I wonder how I found that out? Since you wasted my time, I will now waste your time by letting you ponder as to how I found out about your attempted scam.
PS: Against my recommendation, this man, who you attempted to scam, has told me that he is willing to again save you a great deal of money and install another rear glass for you for the same price as before.

Haven't used any chargers outside of my garage except to test the charging times of the ones I encountered on a trip to Indianapolis (Meijers).
Interested to try it again, this time at a TESLA charging station.

At least I tried. I even found one in white!
I love the exterior styling of those, but the interior reeks of typical GM cost cutting, even though it was a Euro inspired model.

But what I consider a burnout is the type of rubber burning, patch laying asphalt autographs that you see etched into any country road. For that you need a little more horsepower and a limited slip differential. I know my FWD cars don’t have that.

I am constantly impressed by the maturity of certain members here when it comes to their use of vehicles.

They didn't sell many. I love Acuras and even I thought it was overpriced. Still, a car I was dutifully impressed by and keep on the lookout for one on the used market.
QUESTION
I hope that you can help me with a glass outlet that installed my rear door glass.
Dan
ANSWER
I did check this out for you and yes, I did find that you had the glass replaced on your rear door.
