I'm inviting the family to come along, let's see if we can make it on short notice. I may have to work though, took too many days off recently!

I'm thinking of hitting tirerack on our way down so I can kill 2-birds with one stone, which means no Trooper.

    I'm still good :)

Only glitch I can see is some "real work" projects possibly getting the way, and it's too soon to tell at the moment. If I don't go Friday, it will be Saturday.

I'm still not sure. I do have to work. In fact I may have to go to my boss' house to set up her wi-fi. No getting out of that!

Dave and I will come down if people will be there friday afternoon/friday night.

PS: if you guys need anything from TireRack I can pick it up en-route.

    Hey guys and girls,
Who is going to VIR with NASA-VA for the first HPDE of the year!!!

I know a bunch of Team IAC folks will be heading down.

    Anyone else? Cirrus WRX?

Also anyone who wants me as an instructor, I will be instructing that weekend

    Here is a link.

As always the 1996 Impreza L is up for any Novices to borrow if they don't want to use there car. Just pay for gas for the weekend, and break-it you-replace it.

It's 1/31 to 2/8. Any crew planning to attend? I posted in the Patti thread asking if she would be there. My preference is Tues, Wed, or Thurs early afternoon but Friday probably works better for the out of town crew.

Hopefully the Subaru display will be much improved this year!

when/where for the Philly Auto show by this weekend. Juice, Bob and I have talked about meeting there. No firm dates yet. Anyone else in? Juice and Bob - what day works for you? I can be flexible with the date.

Any word on this? Or is it just me an Hypov taking a run down to DE to the Tire Rack Warehouse?

Depending on the date and our schedule.

If I can come at all opening day (1/31) would be best, crowds and all. I'll have an out-of-town guest who may need some fresh air. OTOH Sunday 2/1 may be okay; if the Eagles win this coming Sunday most of their fans may stay at home preparing for their Super Bowl parties.

I think I may pass on Baltimore this year. It doesn't sound like juice is going either. I'm also still trying to catch up on some work, after having taking three days off last week. After having been to Detroit, I know I won't see anything new there. If I hear the new Legacy is there, I may go, but I haven't heard anything on that.

I'd like to go to Philly, however. it sounds like there will be a larger "Crew Crowd" too, which would make it more fun. I would think there's a better chance of seeing the new Legacy there, since the Detroit show will have closed by then. As to which days to go, at the moment anything is fine.

I'd be interested in the Philly show, but it would have to be on a weekend. There's no way I can get a day off for the next month.

I can't make Baltimore, way too much going on at home. To make a long story short our son will need surgery to open a blocked tear duct. Not a big deal, very routine, but still he can't go out at all because he absolutely cannot get a cold, virus, or flu.

Surgery is on the 29th, so that weekend (31-2/1) is too soon for me to make it. I could probably go the following week. For us actually the best day would be the 8th, the last day, Thursday.

Patti - I'll e-mail you some details of our plans.

The rest of you go when you can, it's OK to divide and conquer a little bit. Hopefully at least some of us can get together.

You said best day would be the 8th, the last day, Thursday. The 8th is Sunday, not Thursday. So did you mean Sunday, 2/8 or Thursday 2/5?

    DaveM
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
    My mix up, sorry.

So really any day Thursday and beyond would work, the 5th, 6th (Friday with paisan?), 7th Saturday, or 8th Sunday.

OK, that makes it more flexible.

Patti - revised e-mail coming your way, LOL.

The 5th is my B-day. :) So you can all take me to dinner ;)

Brogan had a inquinal (sp?) hernia taken care of back in September. While it's a routine procedure, it's still surgery. He had to stay the night since he was under 6 months old. DW stayed with him.

Aren't blocked tear ducts a bit unconfortable? The surgery will help.

He got pink eye in Brazil a year ago, and since then he's had teary eyes that don't drain properly. His left eye accumulates gunk or crust.

They can probe it out, but we're going with insertion of tiny tubes to drain it. The tubes get removed months later and success rate is higher than probing.

Both are still surgery, with general anesthesia. To remove the tubes does not require surgery, though, they just snip it.

Basically they're installing tuned headers in the exhaust of his eyes, for better breathing. :o)

Things will go well juice and I am sure it will be a great relief all around.

      Cheers Pat.

Same thing happened here recently: our son got a clogged tear duct in his left eye. Doctors told us that they wouldn't consider any procedures until he was at least 9 months old. They advised us to keep it clean and apply warm compresses, and that sometimes the clogs would spontaneously unclog. His did about 2 weeks ago, to our relief.

It didn't cause him great discomfort, but when he'd wake up for his middle-of-the-night feeding and couldn't open his eye for the crusty goo, it'd just tear at my heart.

Best of luck with the procedure.

My friend had it done on their baby, and the doctor said it was almost routine now.

    -Dennis
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
His isn't quite as bad as Ed describes, but he's also 17 months and it hasn't healed itself.

Thanks for all the warm thoughts.

I think I can do either weekend with preference on the first weekend.

Patti - It's nearly in your backyard. You could just do both weekends. :-D

    I'm am sooooo down!!!

But, only bad thing is I can't afford to keep putting miles on my wife's lease so I'm going to need to ride with someone...

Paisan, you're going on Friday 2/6 or 2/7?

I can't do 2/6 because my wife has something up her sleeve for my birthday and picked that day even though my birthday is 1/29...

Anybody else going on Saturday from NNJ if Paisan is going Friday?
  • rshollandrsholland Member Posts: 19,788
Seems like a lot of birthdays around the Philly show.

Paisan's around that time. Elm's is 1/29, and mine is 2/3. Anyone else?

  • bigelmbigelm Member Posts: 995
Looks like alot of winter babies around here huh? lol!

My wife just told me we have a wedding to go to on 2/7 so I won't be able to make that day either...

    Anybody up for 2/8 (Sunday)?
  • subaru_teamsubaru_team Member Posts: 1,676
1/31 and 2/1. It's my eldest son's birthday and we'll be celebrating that along with our annual Super Bowl party at my brothers. So, let's do a quick vote. Maybe post as follows:

    Screen Name/Real Name
    Preferred Date
    # of folks your coming with

Also, if you will be staying overnight and bringing children, I can probably work out child care for you (my daughter and her friends are all Red Cross Certified, etc.). I think my daughter is committed to one of our Crew already, but she has friends that could help with this.

Let's pick a date ASAP so we can get this rolling?

    (P. S. - Juice, Charlie will be in our prayers. I'm sure he'll be fine. Tell Lana to hang in there!)

Preferred Date - any week day afternoon (2/2 - 2/6) will probably work; I'd rather stay away from evenings and weekends.
    # of folks your coming with - probably 3

but it depends on hitchin' a ride...

Don't know what's up with Paisan but it seems at this point I can only do Sunday :-(

Unless someone is going during the week other than 2/6, then I'll take a day off!

    Screen Name/Real Name - bigelm/Elmer Passapera
Preferred Date - Any Date other than 2/6 & 2/7.
    # of folks coming with - Depends who I'm with...
  • rshollandrsholland Member Posts: 19,788
    Screen Name/Real Name - rsholland/Bob Holland
Preferred Date - Any Date other than 2/3.

I suggest you forget about trying to find a date that suits everybody. It just ain't gonna happen. Somebody (Patti hint hint) needs to take the lead and just pick a date. Heck, if I can find a cheap airfare, I'm tempted to fly up and meet you guys.
