Sounds like my house, though my wife splits viewing time between Food, The Learning Channel, Discovery Health and HGTV.

They really need to take HGTV off the air - it gives people too many ideas! The best commercials now are the Yamaha ads they run on Speed that parody those "home makeover" shows. The crew changes nothing except for bringing in Yamaha ATVs and motorcycles. Hubby is delirious while wifey stands disappointedly slack-jawed. Muhahahaha....;-)

    Ed-

HGTV = bane of every husband. My wife is constantly watching and increasing the "honey do" list.

Wife got hooked on the Food Channel (I call it the Emeril Channel) and Discovery Health when she was pregnant.

Bright idea - merge them into the Nutrition Channel! :-)

my babe watches foodtv (food 911 w/tyler florence) every nite when suckin down her evening bottle right before bed. better than being forced to sit w/her watching the wiggles or something else along thoese lines :)
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
    Wifey watches at dinner time.

I don't get it, why watch people cooking on TV while you're eating? It's depressing, our food is comparatively simple.

C'mon guys, go over to the CAFE if you wanna talk about cooking channel! So who is coming out? Anyone?

  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Not unless I can "sell it" to the wife somehow.

    Leave the wife home? :)

There is historic Harper's Ferry not too far away?

The brother-in-law arrives this Sunday. Lemme see if I can talk him into going with me, take the boys with us.

Brother-in-law ended up leaving yesterday morning. Talk about bad luck, he drove right into his house and lost power almost right away. He should have stayed a couple of extra days!

Any how, wife said no dice, mostly because it's too hot to stay outside. We went to the County Fair and she almost melted, so the only outdoor activity she's willing to do is the pool.

I was hoping my BIL would stay, and we could maybe take the boys (my 1 year old, his 2 year old) out together. But...now that he's gone I'd have to take my 4 year old daughter, and the wife would get the baby. I don't see how I can keep a kid entertained while I watch the races. She's not into cars (yet, I'm working on that) and loud revving actually scares her.

I found out a co-worker does these events, so you might see him there. Gregg G., he'll be in a blue CRX with a full race cage, and he's also one of the instructors.

I really do want to make it out some time, maybe if there is an AutoX at FedEx Field we could let you know in advance and you could come down, maybe do some runs with Loosh also.

    It's tough with kids...

Who drove the other two RSs?

Looks like you got sun? We had a lot of rain in DC on Sat.

    -juice
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
No rain. The silver RS was due to be returned to Carmax, but they offered a crazy low price.

Zephyr drove the blue one :)

Huh? Was it a long test drive? LOL

    -juice
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
He tried to sell it at carmax, but they offered way less than he needed :(

    -mike
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Maybe the carmax guy saw him at the track? LOL

Brake induced wheel lift there? ;-)

    -Brian
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
Hmm, not sure if it was brake induced, I'm 99.9% sure it wasn't brake induced as that was well out of my braking zone. I ran with my parking lights on so that the faster cars wouldn't rear end me in the sraights!

  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
I didn't see the 3rd brake light (HMSL) lit, but wasn't sure if it was bulb-less or not.

Looks like you were having fun!

    -Brian
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
That L had a spoiler on the trunk from the factory so the 3rd brake light was in there. The trunk was swapped before I bought it so there is no 3rd brake light on it at all. :) Fun? Oh it was a blast. Can't wait for Watkins Glen in Sept!

I'm too out-of-the-loop to get customers lined up. You'd have at least one tint job to do, though. ;-)

    -juice
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
Hee Hee, :( And my tint guy won't go that far!

I was thinking springs and Uppipes could be done in a day, probably could do about 6 sets of springs and 5 uppipes.

Glad to hear you did so well Mike, I'm sorry I missed the event! Was busy with hurricane cleanup -- the first floor of my inlaws cabin was flooded up to the ceiling, what a mess.

How long a drive to Richmond for you? 7-8 hrs?

    Craig
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
The drive down was longer than up. Hit DC Traffic friday night down to fredricksburg.

Other than that not too bad up or down.

    -mike
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
You drove by my old lake house, in Lake of the Woods, just west of Fredericksburg.

That's when Hypov got cut off for the 99th time during the trip! :)

All in all it wasn't bad, averaged about 75-80mph when we weren't in traffic, with the trailer.

Anyone interested in a backroad/backalley drive tonight, we are going to be touring Irvington, Union, Newark, East Orange and other seedy areas in search of stolen subies. We also may do a stakeout with a bait car for the thieves stealing WRXs in that area. Meet up @ AZP around 8pm or later http://AZPInstalls.com/directions

the thiefs are reading the details now. ;-)

    DaveM
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
It won't matter when we come a lookin for em!

Seriously if they are reading this, then we won't find a damn thing, if they are smart enough to be on the net, then chances are the cars are already crated and shipped.

Things like this can go seriously wrong and you're much more important than any car.

    Patti
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
I think it will turn into more of a search for stolen than actually setting someone up. It's time for the good people to fight back against crime IMHO. We'll let you know if we recover any cars.
