I might be able to go, but most likely I'd have to bring my daughter with me. Right now it's She who has all the credits saved up for free days, daddy's debt.
I could bring tools and be a support vehicle, help Subie owners mount rims and stuff.

It's 67 miles from your place.

I gotta figure a way to get her into cars, right now the only car she likes is Barbie's 'vette roadster! At least she's playing with those Subaru stickers from the NY show, LOL.

Still not sure yet, however...

Saturday we'll probably be buying my little sister's car (maybe a Forester), Sunday is Mother's Day so we're doing a little somethin' for the wife and my step mom.

So you can hookup with us then

On the way down we met a SOA PR rep on the NJTP @ a rest area who had an '04 WRX Wagon. We chatted, collected his card and then we all cruised down the TP together, nice guy. He was quite suprised when the RS-T pulled on him and the SVX hung with him
We ran it in both directions (sat was counter clockwise and sun was clockwise) Had a ball. In the rain we were lapping the M3s and most all of the other BMWs!
Can't wait to head down to Summit Point in June with NASA-VA!

Bob
We staying in Winchester, VA, but next time we'll stay in Charles Town I think.

If you're at all into Civil War history, you should stop by Harpers Ferry (John Browns raid), which you go right past. It's a national park, right on the banks of where the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers merge.

Nice that you had a good time at the track.

We'll have subies from Maine to Florida showing up! C'mon down.

My parents are going to the OBX with us for a few days, so it would be cool for them to see so many Subes.

Where: Penang Malaysian Restaurant in Edison right by RT-1 S. 505 Oldpost Rd. Edison, NJ 08817
Restaurant tel: 732-287-3038
I need to get a head count by next Wednesday, so I can make a reservation. Let's get these great big meetings going people.
Note: Since the parking lot for the restaurant is quite small to fit all our babies there, I suggest we park in the plaza straight across from it. Can fit at least 50 cars w/o problems"

Here's my guess as to US Subaru new model debuts:
LA: Legacy
This auto precedes the Detroit show by a few days. I'm betting the all-new Legacy will debut there.
Detroit: 7-passenger crossover
My gut feeling that Subaru will use this show (it's the most important car show in the world) to debut their all-new crossover. It follows the LA show by about a week. We already have a pretty good idea about the the new Legacy, and we know very little about the crossover. I think Subaru will get more press exposure by introducing the crossover here, and the Legacy at LA.
Chicago: Outback
I think the Legacy, since it's in the greatest need of publicity will debut before the Outback. So, my guess is the Outback will debut in February, one month after the Legacy debuts.
NY: Impreza, Forester, Baja
By the time the NY show rolls around, I'm betting most of the big news will have been announced. So that leaves NY to flush out the rest of the lineup.
Bob
Mark
Subaru is on a 5 year cycle, and they do a mild face-lift after 2-3 years. So neither of those are due.
The Baja may show up, if they even do another one.
-juice
Subaru has historically used the NY show to show a "next-year model" of some sort, even if the changes are very minor.
Bob
Sounds like a big Crew meet, no?

Washington Show
This opens the day after Christmas. I consider it the last of the previous year's auto shows. Rarely is there anything truly new shown, as the "new" stuff is reserved for LA and Detroit, which opens a week or two after the DC show. Still I go, and sometimes I'm surprised.
Baltimore Show
The show is, IMO, better than the DC show. It opens shortly after the Detroit show, so you stand a better chance of seeing new stuff. This past year the STi was shown at Baltimore, and this was a week or so after it was introduced at Detroit.
Philly Show
I don't know much about this show, but I sense it's considered a "minor" show by automotive show standards. The year I went they had the east-coast introduction of the WRX, and that's why I went. I sense from those who go to the Philly show regularly, that it's mostly a disappointment.
NY Show
The NY show is considered to be the last of the "important" US-auto shows of the season. Here you can see all the new stuff that was introduced at LA, Detroit and Chicago, as well as some other never seen before vehicles. Subaru has historically shown some of its next year's models here, whether they have minor upgrades or major upgrades.
In any case, I'm up to going to all the above if we get a "Crew" together.
Bob
You always get surprises. The DC show had the 2000 Neon debut (big deal, I know, but still) a week or two before the "official" debut at one of the bigger shows. You just never know.
Philly is worth it if Subaru shows new models and because we can meet up with Patti. It's a good mid-point for Mid-A folks, too.

Anyway, I think a Philly meet sounds great, especially if we can arrange to meet with Patty. Do you know when it is?

2. The originator of the cheesesteak (Pat's) uses Cheese Whiz!!??.
3. Pat's doesn't clean the gril. That adds "flavor" according to an interview I saw on the Food Network. Gino's is nice and tidy and keeps the grill clean.
We're talking about the Spring '04 auto shows already???

Eating at the Terminal Market is an experience in itself. (That's Philly's slightly smaller version of Seattle's Pike Place Market for you in the PNW. There's also the larger Italian Market in South Philly but Reading Terminal is right across the street and all under one roof.)
Dennis: You must have watched that "Eating on $40 a Day" show. I learned recently that I actually went to college with one of the Food Network show hosts, but our school is very large so I can't say I knew him personally.

Why do I always get hungry on Edmunds? :-)

Team IAC will be at Summit Point Raceway doing the NJBMWCCA HPDE! C'mon out saturday or sunday and watch us beat up on some Bimmers! Hee Hee, it'll be the debut event for the "L" and Zephyr will likely lap the M3s if it's raining
It's close for you guys in the DC/Balto area. Heck there are spots left if anyone wants to DRIVE it!
-mike
I actually met a guy here at work in IT that is an instructor at FATT events. He's going that same weekend to race his heavily modified CRX (roll cage and all). He tows it on a flat bed, it's a pure race set up. Pretty cool.

When we watch TV, my wife and I go back and forth between Food and Speed (as long as NASCAR isn't on). :-)
