The Boca Raton Bicycle Club needs a "new" jersey design. Do you think your friend would be interested in helping to design one? If so, have him contact me to discuss fees.

A question for all of you techies out there...is it possible to post a sound file somewhere? it has a file extension of .asf and I was able to listen to it with Media Player ...I received this really funny bit from a friend that is car related...Patti heard it and mentioned the possiblity of haveing it on the boards. Let me know. If not, I can email it to all interested.
Hey folks, just got back from Orlando. Went for a wedding, visited Mickey again, and hit Cocoa Beach a couple of times for good measure. Oh, and I saw THREE Subies! They are really growing in popularity in FL!
The first was a Legacy, sweeeeet! The guy had it set up for rally cross, with a big scoop on the roof, even. It was silver, previous generation, 2.5GT, but I'm sure he had a turbo because he blew by my rental like I was standing still. Dark tint, sedan, spoiler, very quick. I could not catch up to see it again! It looked like Lucien's after $6k in mods.
Also saw one yellow WRX sedan, also tinted dark, STi stickers on rear window, coffee can exhaust. Not nearly as interesting as the Legacy, IMO.
Nice to be back!

Serge- I'm interested. Send me via e-mail.
Bob- Bob! That's a mighty fine piece of ART. =D
-Dave
Both the blue and yellow are based on Subaru's racing colors.
Since Serge is Jewish, and the name "Kfira" is Hebrew for young lioness, or female lion cub, I designed the lettering to have a "Hebrew-like" feeling. If you're familiar with Hebrew lettering, you'll know what I mean. I also "italized" the word to suggest speed.
I think it turned out well. It certainly has the feeling of a cat (or lion cub) that is stalking its prey.

Hmmm... I wonder if it is too late to try Graphic Design? :-)

Re: sound files - I've never seen it done within a message on the boards, and not sure if it is possible. I'll ask the other hosts.

Have you seen the "CR-V vs Forester: 2nd generation ..." topic in the SUV forum?
Ding, ding! Round two!

I hope Serge can get that file on here. I was laughing for hours after listening to it!

I'm glad you had a good time in Orlando! I might have missed this on previous post, but do you know yet whether Tati is going to have a brother or sister?
Welcome back!

My Hebrew has slipped from 'rusty' to 'non-existant' over the years, but yes it does look beautiful and recognizable.
Fine job,
Steve
Actually, the wife would kill me if she ever found out why I like those names!

I got a call from someone at work yesterday that wanted to see the van, so I drove it in today. It just so happened that last week I was checking 'hotcoupons.com' for oil change discounts, when I noticed a $4 off State Inspection from a shop I know of over on US Rt 9 in Fishkill. Paranoid as all getout, I called at 11:15am (is big brother listening???), and yes, if I could get there by 11:30 they could fit me in before they broke for lunch. Printed it out and ran for the door.
I drove about 6 miles of lowly Rt 52 and am pulling out onto Rt 9 when 'old eagle-eyes' Town Police suddenly does a U-turn and is headed in my direction. I catch the green light while he gets tangled in traffic and take off for the less than a mile run to the shop. I put on my directional at the turnoff just as the cop catches up, pulls in behind me, lights flashing.
I did not let him get in a word edgewise!!! Held up the coupon, offered him the cell phone to verify my appointment, pointed at the highly detailed machine that was not really mine and on its way back to to Ford, but was by oversite a year out of inspection! His first comment when I was done was "so you knew who I was after and why?" My answer: "Of course - My wife can get away with this for a year, but I knew this morning that I would get nailed trying to fix the problem!" He smiled, ran a quick radio check, shook my hand and watched me pull into the shops open bay.

Tell us about your Ody in the Future Models thread. I'd love to see Subaru build a van, so maybe you could tell us what you like about it, and what you'd like to see Subaru add to it.
I visited Fitz' new dealership in Gaithersburg yesterday. My wife had another test drive deal, $50 at Sharper Image for test driving a Chrysler. We got the coupon signed, and luckily without actually having to drive one. ;-)
But the Subie dealer was next door, so I stopped in. The wife refused to get out of the car! She was pitching two contracts and didn't land either one, so she's not in the mood to spend money.
They had a base Outback wagon, a Legacy GT limited sedan (which I wanted her to see, but nope), a Forester S, and a TS wagon. The TS was just $17k, which I think is a steal.
The sales guy said they have dealer training next Thursday, to teach them about the 2003 Forester and Baja, so I may call to ask him what he learned.

Overall, I really like this car...BUT!!!
1. Gas mileage a disappointment after driving an 87gl 2wd wagon for 10 years...
2. Clutch and drivetrain are very rough and chattery on this car.(hate this clutch!!!)
3. After reading numerous posts about bad dealerships and customer service my advice is to befriend a subaru mechanic and bring him homemade chili when you have a question!!
4. Handling in bad weather driving or emergency situations is top notch save the scary ABS reactions.
5. Put a piece of black tape over that damn check engine light!!!
6.I almost got 2 speeding tickets on the highway in this car, unheard of in my other sub's.
7.The drummer in my band and I packed all of our equipment into this car and drove to Boston in a snowstorm and the car did great with all that weight in it.
That is all for now, sorry about the long post!! Mike
I actually do know a Subie mechanic - Jake Moran is now working up at Fitz Subaru in Gaithersburg. And I'm sure he's "mod-friendly" given how much stuff he's done to his brother's car. :-)

What do you expect the milage to be, the same?

Welcome to the Subaru Crew! Congratulations on your Forester; time to update your profile.
Some report mileage improves somewhat after 10K miles, so maybe yours will soon. I feel for you about the mileage (had a 91 Legacy wagon 5MT FWD), AWD does take its toll. Ah, but the AWD launch can't be beat. I shan't return to FWD, even in mild-weathered Washington, DC. Tell us more about the CEL and clutch chatter.

PS to juice> If my second had been a boy, the name would have been David John (in honor of the grandfathers). Karen is a good name. :-) It means pure, although I won't comment on whether I've always lived up to that meaning.
