    Patti,

I'm in for Tuesday's ticket as well, if no one wins tonight.

Like the Weatherband radio in the Legacy. Reminds me of the Radio Shack Archer Weather radio which you had to plug a crystal in.

Well I finally bit the bullet and got an account there. Hope the "juice jinx" doesn't take them out of business. That happened with homepage.com and with PhotoPoint.

Though I think ImageStation is run by Sony, so I hope they stick around. I'm slowly downloading photos back into it. I had 700+ last time but I think I'll be more selective this time.

My 98 Forester S turned 70 today -- 70K miles that is. It just turned over 70K on my commute to work today. Raven will also turn 4 years old in about a month!

when you try linking a picture from imagestation, don't include the part after the first .jpg (like fdcfb3b4.jpg.orig.jpg should be linked here as fdcfb3b4.jpg).

Assuming there is room of course! just got home from work.

I love my Subaru because I am a a salesman on the street every day. Coming out of a bad encounter with a buyer this car keeps me sane. Slide in, fire it up, get on down the road, clip an apex or two, and I'm alright again!

(now to backtrack and see if I'm even in....)

PS looks like Loosh might have aced me out... by a minute! (In which case, put me top o'the heap for Tuesday as well!)

Actually that would have been slick marketing ;~} - that being said - my true motive??? For $1.00, I got to have some fun with folks that I really like. It's always nice to wish for something, even though the odds are slim. This is such a great group of people, I think a day of dreaming was due to all! Life is too short. Make the best of every moment.

Okay - my thoughts are done for now. So far, no one has said I can't do this since it's personal, not work. Keep your fingers crossed. Mine are and it's really hard to type!

Have a great Friday night all.

For the smiles! You obviously brightened our Friday afternoon. Tryin' to calculate how many Foresters I can buy with my winnings.
  • hamkola3hamkola3 Member Posts: 11
I may be a skulker but at least I've never been called a stalker.. ;)
Thanks for the Friday cheer Patti, had some fun re-checking to see who was going to get in and there was even a little suspense involved. :)
Does this mean I'm not a skulker anymore now that I've posted 2 messages in one day?

Dunno about you all but I can walk - it's about 4 miles from my house. I do have to walk across a bridge from PA, though.

    The Big Game Headquarters?

I have $20 in tickets on my own so if I win on one of those, I'll be looking for people to work at my motor-sports park :)

    Hi Patti,

Next time, count me in! Quite an experience seeing so many posts in a single day. I guess I can't put off looking at the Crew so late in the day.

    Patti,

Thanks for arranging that. It's been fun thinking that the Crew would meet over a lottery win!

If we do win, I say we buy a brand new Subie off the lot from our local dealers and drive all the way to Trenton, NJ. For those of you who live too close to make it exciting, you can fly out to California and caravan with me.

In the contest/lottery for the first 22 to post in - what happened to my post #8532? It was just before said Kate and Kurt were in. It is showing on my screen but maybe somehow it did not make it to yours. Not offended - just curious. Let me know, please.

Only $117M before taxes divided 22 ways comes out to $1.6M each. Not bad for a start :)

what no ramp side, or 8 door luxo-van? I almost liked those better. But of course, if I had grabbed the two-door 4 passenger BMW Isetta from a san jose junk yard, I probably would not have corvair envy! That and everyone who sees my euro type III karmann ghia thinks it's their neighbors old corvair.

    Patti,

I'm in for the bigger game on Tuesday, if you are buying.

I love my Subaru because it's different. 2000 Legacy GT Ltd in Rio Red.

  • subaru_teamsubaru_team Member Posts: 1,676
we didn't win!!! Hmmmm - $300 million on Tuesday?? We'll have to see how we do that one. I'll have to make it Subaru related since that is one thing we have in common, even though this is not a "Subaru" thing. Rick - I don't know why I didn't see your post, but, if we do it again, maybe I'll have to have one of the first "partners" do the checking for meeting the rules and catching everyone. It was a bit of a challenge for me because work was crazy on Friday. Any suggestions on how to set up another partnership next week are welcome. We can keep dreaming - but bigger!!

    I almost forgot - they were 6, 13, 14, 17, 41 with the big money number of 6.

I was on the chat Thursday when you mentioned this, but I was working when you posted Friday, so was not able to play. Even though I was not included I was wishing everyone the best. Of course the odds are something like one to seventy-two million, but eventually someone does win.

Now, for your suggestion for Tuesday. Make it easy on yourself and start counting with this message, on this boad, until you reach the number you want to play this time.

You already know we all either Love our Subaru or are waiting for one reason or another to buy our Subaru. That's why we are here!

Anyway, either way, from my short time on the boards and in the chat room, I think you are a great person and I believe Subaru and all Subaru owners are extremely fortunate to have you.

IMO, the sedans look better too. Although the Legacy looks good either way. I'm a fan of spoilers, even for aesthetic purposes.

I just read Kens suggestion above of each of the winners buying a new Subie off the dealer's lot and driving to New Jersey... I had already picked the colors when I read of the no-win. Oh well, back to work!

Steve in Santa Cruz - I really wanted one of the Corv-8 conversions, but fortunately never saw one up for sale so was spared. I always enjoy seeing a well card for Karmann Ghia on the road, now THAT'S a classic.

  • storytellerstoryteller Member Posts: 476
A friend of my dad's had a Karmann Ghia. It was in the shop for repairs once when it went missing. The cops found it later, ditched. It had been used as the getaway car for a bank holdup. I've spent hours trying to understand the thieves who, in the 1960s when any foreign car was conspicuous, would choose an orange convertible Karmann Ghia for a getaway car! What did those things have, about 50 HP? And barely enough room to store bags of money.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Yeah, but they had boxer engines so we'll cut them some slack. Should have chosen a WRX though!

Thanks for the tip about Image Station, Brian.

Ken: 70K? Congrats. It's broken in now! ;-)

I totally missed the whole lottery thing!

When I saw the mass number of new posts since my last visit early Friday morn, my heart jumped. Normally when there are that many new posts in a short amount of time indicates there is a fight brewing. To my relief it was only greed that prompted the flurry of activity. :-) And shame on me for doubting the Crew!

Also, welcome to all the lurkers! And thanks, Patti, for the fun!

Good one! My first laugh on Tax Day. (Yes...I just finished my taxes 5mins ago and don't owe.) :-)

  • kenskens Member Posts: 5,869
So, if you were to drive cross-country in any Subaru, which would it be?

For a long distance trip like that, I'd choose the Outback VDC sedan. Load up my tunes in the McIntosh stereo, kick back and enjoy the ride.

Of course, I'd have a WRX waiting for me once I got to the East Coast so I can tool around with the rest of the Subaru Crew!

  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
OK, the tax man says he'll buy you any Subie instead of sending you your tax refund. Quick, what would you pick? No subtitutions, and it has to be a model that will be available before the end of this calendar year.

Me: 2003 Legacy GT wagon w/AWP, leather, and 5 speed.

My tax refund dream Subaru would be the 2002 Silver 5 spd WRX Wagon w/spoiler; performance suspension kit; short throw shifter; sti muffler; auto-dimming mirror/compass; air filter; and security package.

After all, I need something to help me keep up with Mike on those drives of his! Not to mention allowing me tighter turns for Ed's Backroads Drives.

one dark blue B4 Blitzen sedan please! :)

    -Brian (papabear1, brookiesdad, etc.)
  • hammersleyhammersley Member Posts: 684
Do you think we could get a volume discount? Your '03 GT sounds good to me too! Hard decision, though... since I already have my '97, I might be more inclined to keep it & splurge (since it's somebody else's money) on a WRX sedan, any color but blue.

Maybe I'm thinking this out too much, but the other, "marriage-correct" option might be the GT wagon (leather, MT... Juice, you & I are on the same wavelength!)... sell the 97, sell Grace's van, buy her a Suburban, evrybody's happy!

    Cheers!

make a good arguement for a Legacy GT wagon. A '03 Legacy GT AT (so I'd get the VTD) would suffice for me and my wife could take our OB until the SUW comes along.

But, I still think that I'd yearn for that B4...

    -Brian (papabear1, brookiesdad, etc.)
  • ffsteveffsteve Member Posts: 243
Any tax refund is a dream!

But, if I had one coming, and the IRS promised to pay it off with a new Subaru, I would pick a WRX sedan 5-speed, black!

    Steve
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Brian: and shiftronic, which even Brooke could use. ;-)

I'll count yours as a GT, because I did specify that it had to be for sale in the US by the end of the year.

    So far we have:

    WRX: Mark, Steve
GT: juice, Brian, Paul (gotta please the wife, too)

Keep 'em coming. I'm surprised noone chose the VDC yet, or a Forester or Baja.
