I think we all can agree that Patti's involvement here has led to both. For me, one major plus of owning a Subaru is having direct contact with the manufacturer. That alone is a huge incentive for me to remain a returning customer.
Like juice wrote, we need a tactful way to convey her contributions to the higher ranks at SOA. Perhaps we could put together a collection of testimonials from actual owners stating how they benefited from Patti and that they would like to see more.
Ken
Solid idea. That's the ticket.
We could draft a cover letter and have several signed testimonials attached to it, then send it to Bob's contact (after verifying he still works there).

Just kidding.

Would a simple 'WE MISS PATTI' suffice?

I don't know of any other manufacturer who has had a rep on a board like Edmunds who has been able to help so many. It is nice to have someone we can tell our opinions to, who will forward them to the manufacturer.
If you need emails, or snail mail sent let me know. I'll be glad to do so once I get back from vacation. I'm off to sunny California, to try some of the restauraunts that utahsteve recomended awhile back.

Ditto, ditto and ditto.
I came here in August '00 (thanks, Karen
I was fed up with my dealer and close to not buying another Subaru again (svc manager lies, clutch problem for thousands of miles, etc.).
I opened a case and Patti offered advice. Had it not turned out so positively, I probably wouldn't be in another Subaru now. And my wife might not be looking at replacing her OB with another Legacy in the future.
-Dennis
I had Patti helping me with a problem [affectionally called "Tweety Bird"] long before I joined the Edmunds Crew. Went out and got 'Ginger', the '99 OBS for Mom, not long after.
-Dave
I've said this on other boards, and I'll repeat it here. No car is perfect, in fact every model has its problems and is far from perfect. So how they handle a problem is a primary concern.
To a well informed shopper, like most of the folks on Edmunds and all of the Crew, know the more common problems of any given brand. Toyota had the sludge debacle. Honda trannys blow up. Subaru had issues with wheel bearings and now gaskets. We know about these because we read up and keep informed. Funny thing is these are the reliable brands, imagine the others.
Having someone like Patti around makes me feel comfortable buying another Soob despite the few known issues, because I know I'll be treated fairly (at the very minimum).
800-SUBARU3 is a start, but there's nothing like having someone to follow up.

So what did I get? A Cayenne Red '03 Forester XS Premi with everything except the leather. I paid $23,660 for it and I must have done something right, because the dealership staff hustled me out of their place in less time than it takes to open that humongous sunroof, which was a major reason behind my purchase.
First thing I did before driving off their lot was remove the crossrails on the roof rack, to decrease noise and increase, however slightly, mileage. I ordered a pair of the tweeters from an online discounter and will give those a try first before thinking about upgrading the other four speakers. Tomorrow the college decals go on that enormous expanse of rear glass, and my vanity plates are already on order.
What else did I consider? Well, I thought about getting the new Turbo, but was turned off by the ethyl it requires and wary of its first-year jinx. I liked the Ford Escape, but it's lousy on mileage and handles worse, which is one thing I immediately appreciated about my new Forester. I've rented Santa Fe's and Blazers before, but didn't really care for either. So, when I saw the 0/24 financing, I put $10K on the credit card for some miles and financed the rest of the $24,700 total price.
One thing I've noticed, lead footed as I am, is that this engine revs a bit high for my taste; around 3000 - 3200 when I'm doing my usual 78-84 mph on freeways. Is this just a fact of life? Maybe I should take the hint and slow down!
Anyway, I'm looking forward to participating in this group and learning more about this excellent auto I now own!

There is enough expertise between the lot of us to be able to answer most of your questions.
Cheers Pat.
What college? Smarter than the average bear, Subaru owners tend to be.
Love your choice - I have a Forester myself.

JUICE you remember Heatherbean? that used to be here who could not make up her mind what she wanted.
Well she is over in nabisco now in the Legacy forum, all the same daft questions, and still supposedly changing cars like they are going out of style.

Yeah, Heather just traded an '02 GT wagon with 4000 miles in on an '03 WRX wagon.
