Cheers Pat.

I am convinced that my wife's Outback hates me. Three weeks ago, I broke the windshield. Today, I dragged the front bumper on pavement backing down the driveway and lost the tow hook cover on the front bumper. Rob M.
(6" of new at Bogus today Rob and no new dents on the Outback).

One thing he was keen on were rear folding seats. On cue, I swung open the rear door, pushed one button and showed him how the seats fold flat without moving the bottom cushion. He was thoroughly impressed with the cargo space and versatility.
He was cross-shopping the Mazda 6 wagon but I think I made his mind up today.
Ken
The 6 wagon actually has a neat button that releases the spring-loaded back seat and folds it automatically. I'm not sure if you need to remove the seat base to fold it flat, though.
The real reason to pick the Subie is the turbo powertrain and the AWD. 6 is FWD/V6 only with an open front diffy and the torque steer that comes with it.

you might need to register to view them. 182 pics, a few blurry ones in there (trying to take the pics too quickly).
-Brian
I mentioned the Outback XT to him also, but he looked at me like as if it were a completely different vehicle. I guess to non Subie enthusiasts, the LGT and OBXT can be night and day.
Ken
Did he know that the LGT has a boxer? :-D
DaveM
I'll make sure he gets that connection the next time I see him in the parking lot.

I don't know what the font is, but if you need the SWRT logo, you can find it here:

Got back from a few days up at Whistler- it was 50 degrees and sunny! Skiing was pitiful. 5 feet off the groomed runs was dead grass! The ski businesses are taking a beating here in the NW this year. Oh well, the kids still enjoyed it, so I guess that made it all worthwhile.
Hey, the new banner is an improvement. I wish the Tribeca was in the back and the LGT in the front. The LGT is much nicer looking!
Hope to make it to the chat next week!

Another storm hits tonight, so we'll see. This year has been pretty light in terms of snow fall.

I went north to the lakes region last weekend. Temperatures in the single digits, and teens by noon. Conditions were awesome and fast! Surprisingly with school vacation there were no lift lines.
Drove home Monday in 8-10 inches of snow. Got 3-4 on Friday, and now expecting 8-12 tomorrow. I'll wish some your way. Rob M
Italians won the 51k Subaru Birkebeiner in Wisconsin today. An Idahoan took 3rd in the womans field (sort of snowy and topical?).
Steve, Host
According to Lookout Pass snow report, 'snow in the forecast'!
Good thing... bought new skis today
(for next year!)
Cheers!
Paul
Craig
Oh well, there's always next year. . .
Paul, hope you get a chance to try out your skis! (On something other than carpet!)

it was raining here most of this evening but has started to become sleet/wet snow. It's about 34F at the time of this posting. should be changing to all snow sometime after midnight. they're calling for 1-3 inches possible here by morning, with another inch tomorrow and chances of snow through Tuesday night. March comes in like a lion, right?
-Brian
DaveM
We only got about 1" last night and the forecast today is another 1" possible. It's a very wet snow.

I retired my 14 year old Olin's for a set of Salomon Verse 10 all-mountain shaped skis. What a difference! Rob M.
Oh, and Brian: Please eat your leftovers. Brenda can make her own. ;-)

I'm not sure what to to do at this point. I'm all for another writing campaign, if that's what everyone here wants to do. I know juice has been very busy these last few weeks, and I'm going to also get very busy with my work for the next couple of months.
If everyone wants to do another writing campaign, that's fine with me. I'd like to get some feedback from you guys first.
Bob
Hum, maybe it's time for a career change? According to yahoo maps driving to Cherry Hill only adds 15 miles each way to my commute. But those 15 extra miles probably take another 45 to 60 minutes. :-(
DaveM
P.S. Bob, thanks for the update.
-Frank
P.S. I don’t see any reason why Patti can’t continue posting on Edmunds as a “regular member” as long as we respect her current position and don’t put her into an awkward situation by asking her to intervene on anything SOA related.
[SOA] will need to be convinced that having an official presence on Edmund’s contributes significantly to their bottom line.
I agree too. Although it's made repeat customers out of some of us, it's probably too small to even make a difference in the grand scheme of things. In the end it's all about having measurable return on investment.
Is there something that's prevent Patti from participating as a regular member?
Ken
How about maybe Edmunds "invite" (nominate) a replacement?
Say, maybe invite Ms Denise Schwartz?
I think she would be a good replacement, from my correspondence with her... that was many moons ago.
-Dave
Bob
I don't believe that there's any company mandate barring Patti (the private citizen) from participating in this forum or any other forums. Otherwise, we won't be seeing Samir as we have over at nabisco.

The last message I sent to SoA didn't even get a response, which is sad.
They read these threads, so...Hey SoA - send Patti back, or at least somebody!

Next news, we won a trip to Disneyworld. We were watching a show on PAX tv on Mission space, the new ride at Epcot (fabulous, btw) and just before a commercial break, they put a number on the screen to try to be the 10th caller; Susan called; the first 2 times it was busy, but she got thru on the third try and the operator told her she was the winner! Turned out to be the following: 5 days 4 nights at Saratoga Springs Resort, one of their newer properties, 4 5-day park hopper passes, airfare, 500 Disney dollars. Since we are only 3 hours from Disney, we arranged to fly down one of Michael's camp buddies from NJ and a full size rental car in lieu of airfare for 4.
With spring break coming up Mar 16th, we decided that would be a good time.
Hope all of you who have been ill have recovered;
Re:patti, I would love to see a replacement.
Serge
Cheers!
Paul
It isn't so much with that no one at SoA has stepped forward to be a replacement or not able to find a suitable replacement.
I'm betting there's an internal wrangling going on between certain sector(s) within SoA and CDS in relation to the cyberspace arena.
That's my speculation... and I'm usually not too off target.
