Working with a tight budget and looking up multiple VIN#s can be expensive. Anyone tell me how to look up VIN 1HGCB7252PA022953 without costing an arm/leg, or if you have access to the information, I'd surely appreciate it. Thanks.
Trying to find out some onfo on this vehicle. I believe it to be a 64 chevy impala super sport. Any info you would be able to pass on would be a benifit to me Thanks for your time. Msadd
Yes that is a '64 Chevy SS V8 Coupe. It would be very useful to you to get all the "cowl tag" information that is on the firewall. Once you have all those paint, body, trim and possibly accessory codes from the cowl tag, we can tell you even more about the car.
Keep in mind that funny business goes on with VIN tags and cowl tags on these older cars, so if you can, take a photo of the VIN tag and cowl tag and I'll tell you if anything looks suspicious, faked, etc.
Hi. I was reading through the VIN forum and realized I could use some help also. I am thinking of buying a 83 Honda from a guy but I'm worried maybe there is a lien or something he isn't telling me about. Also it only has 143,000 miles on it. I've been searching for inexpensive VIN searches but I'm quickly learning there is no such thing. Can someone help me out? J H M S Z 7 4 5 X D C 1 5 8 4 8 8
Thank you very much! I have his title and registration receipt from when he titled the car which was back in July 2009. It says 325,000 as well which is probably how he reported it. My boyfriend is suspicious that an '83 would only have 143,000 or so miles on it. You say that in December of 2008 it was reported as having 129,000 miles? Would make sense I suppose since the car shows 143K. What would you say is going on here? Again, thank you for your help.
Hi everyone, I am new to this site. Im currently in need of a carfax lookup for a 2003 Saturn. I have a deposit on the car, and dont have the cash for a Carfax report. Can someone please look-up my vin number for me.
I am selling my '05 Jeep Liberty. I am trying to get 10,500 to 11,500 for it. It is in great shape, only 65280 miles. Vin is 1j4gl38k55w632908 and I believe the carfax is clear. Can anyone offer a suggestion or if I am thinking clearly on this? Thanks for the help. :shades:
We'd need more info ---2 or 4WD, Limited, Renegade, Sport, transmission, all the options, condition from 1 to 10 (10 being really like new)--not all this will show up on CARFAX and some of it makes a big difference.
My wife and I are looking for our first car, the only problem is we dont know where to find it. The vin # is WDBJF65J8YB126418. Its a 2000 mercedez benz e320. if anyone can help i would sure appreciate it, as i would love to surprise her with it. we live in west palm beach fl, and traded it in july 2009.
In July 2009 (last record), it was sold by Ed Morse Delray Toyota after being bought at auction. So you might call me---I rather doubt that they, or DMV will reveal the owner's name to you, however. Unless you know someone in law enforcement, you might get stuck here.
I need to know how to check the validity of a VIN and the car in general. I am suspicious of a car being sold. How can I check the validity of the car? Do I take the VIN to the DMV or Police department? How can I check if the VIN and documentation has been altered?
is there an easy way to verify if VIN's have been switched, or is it impossible to switch? Not sure if you are familiar with Santa Ana but we have a lot of stolen cars trying to be resold as legit.
If you have any doubts, have the CHP inspect and verify it. They'll know and they do VIN identification all the time. But if the car is in the location I stated, with the miles I stated, it's probably the real deal.
Be sure to use the customized appraisal feature so that you can plug in trim level, miles, condition, zip code, options and all the rest that affects value.
A local reseller is selling a 1985 Airstream motorhome vin #1GBKP37W2F3323770 and says the mileage is 20K. That's hard to believe. What is the best way to check the accuracy of the mileage?
Inconsistent mileage reports may or may not mean a rollback---could mean busted speedo, or clerical error as well. It's best to get the owner to PROVE the mileage. If they can't, well then don't pay for low miles.
I'll try that. Since the vehicle is not local, I wanted to figure out as much information as I could before making the trip to see check it out. Thanks for the response.
You could ask DMV to check the Hot List for you, or your local police station. If you have a license #, you can also ask DMV if there is any back registration due, etc. They don't give out personal info on the owner, however.
I just bought a used Honda Civic Hybrid from a dealership. I never drove it on the freeway until 3 days later. Well then I coluldn't get ahold of the owner until 5 days later. My bumper was being held on by glue and zip ties. I didn't look under the bumper when buying this car. Could you do a vin search for me. He is trying to screw me and I can not afford to purchase one. It's a 2003 Honda Hybrid Civic- JHMES95633S027623. It looks like I will have to sue him at this point because he keeps telling me he's out of town. Purchased on Oct. 1, 2010 from SRT Motorsports, in Anaheim, CA.
158,261. So it drives awful at anything above 50 mph. Scarey like the front end. And the fact that the bumper isn't being held on by anything...no clips nothing. Oh well a couple zip ties and some glue. Lol. I just bought it less than a week ago. It looked good when I drove it away. Ok well it was sorta dark out... :confuse:
Carfax doesn't tell you everything. A car can be hit 5 times and have a clean Carfax---it happens---because the accidents are not reported, or recorded, for one reason or another.
"So it drives awful at anything above 50 mph" How so? It could just be wheel balance. That's a lot of miles for 2003, around 22K per year. I'm somewhat dubious of the longivety of hybrids anyway. They're built lightweight to makeup for the weight of the batteries and to keep the fuel use down, plus the puny engine works real hard the way most people use them. Personally, I steer clear of most things in Anaheim, and I've lived there for almost 30 years. I did go to the auto show last weekend, but that's about as close to the resort area that I ever get...........

It's cheap because that's what they are worth.
This car should be in AZ and should have 66K miles on it.
