My new deal is for the EX Journey AWD w/ premium, nav, tech, lux style, wood, roof rails, crossbar, mudflaps, cargo protector.
MRSP 45,675, Invoice 41,542, Sale price 40,000. I was happy with this and thought it was a fair deal. I'll be picking it up in a couple of days.
It's been the most frustrating experience to find this out. Infiniti shows the Luxe Elite interior in all of its advertising, they gave it to all of the reviewers to review but their actual customers have to give up their first-born sons to get it.
Smacks a little of bait & switch to me. They outfit the car with the upgraded leather & finishing for the press, but it's effectively unavailable to the public.
Randy
I can't tell you how many time-wasting wild goose chases I went on trying to track down an elusive Luxe Elite model which then turned out 1) not to have it or another essential package I needed after all or 2) was already promised to someone else.
It's not the dealerships' fault either. I've spoken to many salesman who've said this has been very frustrating for them too. Customers come in wanting to see it (after all, virtually all the advertising shows the EX with the seat-back hangar & the luxury stitching), & out of 50 on the lot, they've never had even a single LE to show them. I've been told by more than one dealer that they've never even seen an LE EX35 at all themselves except at their regional training sessions.
I hate to say it, but it does seem like the company only made a few available in the US to send around to shows & farm out to reviewers & sell to a couple of lucky customers just to create a buzz & generate traffic into their showrooms.
Honestly, I don't see how Infiniti thinks it can avoid getting bait & switch complaints pulling this kind of stuff. I'm really ticked off at how much time I wasted trying to get a package that the company said was available to me, but in fact was not.
It's listed as being an available incentive until June 30, and the way these things are piling up on dealer lots and lease deals as low as $399 are being advertised, you would think the incentive IS available for leases.
According to Edmunds, it says it's not, but being that it's Manufacturer to Dealer cash - they could probably apply it if they wanted to ...
If anyone knows, or has been able to do a deal in April, let me know if they were able to use it - a Lease at $2000 below invoice and attractive money factors would make me consider this as well.
Thanks!
I leased my EX in March, and the incentive for leasing was the wicked money factors and strong residuals. I don't believe those money factors are available any longer in April.

It reads, "2008 models. Expires June 30. EX35, FX45: $2,000-$3000. Programs may vary by region and model."
Does anyone know where to find which "regions" offer this?
I'm watching for a lowered finance percent, too.
White/Wheat, Premium pkg, Wood pkg.
MSRP = $38,475
Out the door all taxes and fees = $37,500
Thoughts?????
It is RWD with that MSRP. Syrah, I can't quite come up with your MSRP. RWD with premium and wood comes out to $38,265, according to Edmunds.
Your tax rate is very important here.
But, using mine (7%), and using my invoice of $35,102 minus $750 of that $2k rebate, I come up with $36489.14. Tax, title, and fees are typically in the $600-$800 neighborhood here in NJ. That all adds up to roughly your $37,500 OTD price.
Obviously, this can vary based on your tax and fees. So if you want to know if its a good price, we'll need to know what the price is before those extras are added on.

MSRP = $34,850
Options = $2,900
Destination = $715
Total Msrp------ $38,465.00
Sale price --$$34,767.00
Dealer fee--$499.95
Sales tax---$2156.02
Plate trans--$75.00
Balance due $37,497.97
I still can't quite hit your number. On edmunds, with those options, its $38,565. But its possible a $100 increase took place and edmunds shows the new numbers while the unit the dealer has is older and has the older MSRP.
In any case, without knowing for sure, I can only assume the invoice on that unit is also $100 lower. So that would make it $35,235. Subtract the $2k dealer cash and you are at $33,235. As I said, my goal is typically $500 over. I think that's fair. But doc fees in my area are typically $199. So that's a total of $700 for the dealer. Since your dealer fee is so high, then that comes off the offer for the car, bringing your offer to $33,435, or about $1300 less than they are offering now.

Journey AWD (Black & Stone) + Premium + Navigation + Roof rails & cross bars + cargo protector: Sticker $42,025 Sales price (good until the end of the month): $37,896. Anyone done better?

The end of the month push sure does seem to help!!
BTW, I live in good old tax free NH and have no taxes to deal with (they get you by other means @ point of registering the car).
the other thing is if you are looking for a car with very sepcific options (like I am) you limit yourself. For a car rotting on the lot you might be able to escape with $2k under invoice....but a lot of those cars are extremely undesireable from what I've seen. After you've sat in a car with Luxe Elite leather you won't want a Luxe Style car.
He said that when they had the dealer education seminar they had them drive the RWD & AWD on sheets of plastic that were wet with dish soap on it. He said he liked the handling of the RWD better. He offered to get one of the two out of state AWDs, but said I would probably like the RWD just as well. He has one on the lot with everything I want, but also with cross bars and cargo organizer, both of which I do not want. The out of state cars are priced as: LEP: 41,750 (sale)/43,816 (out the door)+ 400 trans. LSP: 41,405/43,444 + 700 trans.
I am a cash buyer. The deal I am being offered for the RWD he has on the lot is this: 43,185 reduced to 37,300, plus with TT&L, total out the door is 40,761. He took off the two thousand that is offered for purchases only through the end of June. I find that much better than Auto Club or Costco deals. He said that the new cars arriving are priced higher than others that arrived in April, or previous months. The ones arriving in May are higher by several hundred dollars. I'm going to try to get him to take off the cross bars and remove the cargo organizer and take that off the price. Any suggestions? I will go test drive the car this Saturday. Thanks for all of your posts - they have helped me be a more informed buyer!
If the price is close to invoice minus the $2000 incentive then you are where you would want to be.
Ground clearance 6.0 " 6.0 " 5.4 " 5.4 "

Gross weight 4,700 lbs. 4,866 lbs. 4,863 lbs. 5,029 lbs.
I realize it goes against logic, but perhaps because the tire rim on the 18"s are so narrow, but thanks for the info on the tire prices.
Body height 61.9 " 61.9 " 61.9 " 61.9 "
So the top of the roof apparently isn't any higher off the ground in any configuration. I would think the 2WD would possibly have different spring rates than the AWD.
Once you get use to the initial body lean on turn in the 2WD handles pretty well for what it is. The more I drive it the more I enjoy the way the total package works.

My car will arrive Monday: Liquid Platinum/Stone RWD, Prem, Tech, Nav, Rails/Bars, Wood Trim, Cargo Protector, Splash.
FYI - Infiniti has a new deal for May, $7865 off MSRP on EXs through Memorial Day. Since the car I wanted happened to be on another dealership's lot 140 miles away, I ended up giving up the hold back (520), but still here's what I paid:
Base Invoice: 32,046 Base MSRP: 34,850
Options, w/ Freight: Inv. 7,134, MSRP 8,175
Total Inv.: 39,180 Total MSRP: 43,025
CA Sales Tax (8.25) 2,947
Doc Fee 55
Lic Fee 232
Reg. Fee 52
CA Tire Fee 8.75
Smog Abatement Fee 12
Total Out the Door: 38,974.89
Basically, the deal I got turns out to be 3,500 under invoice. Any comments?
I'm just glad I finally got the one I want, and can't wait to start driving it.
AWD Journey, Luxe Style, Premium, Tech, Nav, Rails (no crossbars.. yet), Wood Trim, and Cargo Protector.
Invoice of 41,600.00
MSRP of 45,285.00
Dealership is offering: 43,000
and throwing in the window tinting done by them. I'm interested in the splash guards & wheel locks. Then again, if the wheel locks do little, if anything, then I'm perfectly fine with not getting them.
The car's been on the lot at least a month, and from the window sticker, it was originally a dealer trade.
The $2,000 dealer incentive is in effect, too. Is 43k a decent offer from the dealer? Should I be asking lower? I was thinking about countering with an offer of 42,500, they throw in the window tinting, splash guards, and crossbars. I'm a complete newbie at all this.
If I could get any advice, I'd really appreciate it.
That price is wonderful. Is the Infiniti deal you mention of 7865 under MSRP available all over the country? I am in Florida and find 1500 under invoice the best I can get so far. Add a 700 dealer fee on top of that and they still make pretty good money. For 3500 under invoice, I would buy one today. Maybe they are giving all the dealers access to the 2000 cash back I hear some of the very early EX buyers got because the rollover sensor is not on the vehicle as originally stated in the their window stickers & first print brochures.
Could you let me know the dealer name & location? Maybe they could ship the car if the deal is not available in Florida.
Thanks
I am awaiting delivery of my vehicle as I write this! I had a talk with the GM today and they took another $300 off as the price I paid reflected the discount as less than $520 (which turns out to be their hold back) the discount they originally offered in their email. The discount I got was $7,345. Now it is $7,645, $3,800 under invoice. I'm very pleased.
The dealership is Metro Infiniti in Monrovia, CA.
I know for sure that all of them get $2k off, and several dealerships have offered as much as $2,700 off invoice. Shane told me they had to clear out the old stock as the hold back had expired. The car I wanted was on another lot, so who knows the status of the hold back on that one.
In a search I came up with a number of barely used EXs in Florida with between 5 - 20k miles. That could be a good deal, too. Let me know how you fare!
We have absolutely no idea because you haven't shared the MSRP of the vehicle in question. $37k is the selling price, but how does that relate to the invoice? Also of help on calculating a lease is the residual, months, miles, and money factor.

I took delivery of my car today and am blown away with how beautiful it is - in all ways! I'm thrilled.
Also, I spoke with the GM first thing this morning and he agreed to split the hold back with me, so the delivery guy brought a new contract with the (further) reduced sale price and I will get a check in the mail for $300 + the tax % back.
I say go check it out. I know that the new cars coming in have higher invoice prices, and they are wanting to clear out their old inventory because the hold back is over, so they are willing to greatly reduce this old stock, if you can find the one you want.
Monrovia has lots of EXs on the lot, and yet they were willing to get the car through a dealer trade for me as the one I wanted was in Carlsbad. If you write to their internet site that you are interested in an EX they will write you back with their specials. Print out the email they send you with the specials so you, so you have something to show them!
Good luck!

I called the internet dept yesterday & they offered 3500 under invoice no haggle at all. They don't have the color combo I want Scarlet Silver/wheat with nav & prem but they have many others. Best prices I have seen so far.
Good luck!!
Thanks!
