Thanks Steve. I've made my email public.

Davenow, have you checked autofair.com? They are in Manchester, NH. Out of frustration of not being able to the the configuration we wanted for a decent price locally, I got in touch with them (I have relative there, thinking of flying over and driving back if the price is right), and was able to get a discount of almost $2900 off MSRP for an XLE w/ pkg#12&CF, albeit with a 4-5 weeks lead time. Decided to go with an Indiana dealer for less saving but also less logistic hassle.

Last time I checked, Darcars in Maryland advertizes their sale prices without listing the $540 freight charge, even though their MSRP listings include it, creating a false impression for an otherwise smaller discount off the sticker.

Toyota.com offers a PDF file electronic brochure for the Sienna, by carefully reading the features to see which ones come standard one can create the list I posted.

I am sure one could also find it by reviewing another auto purchasing Consumer Guide.

I don't have the AWD, but my understanding is that it is fulltime and can not be switched off for gas savings.

DAR Cars did that when we purchased....offering $3500 off MSRP but adding back in the $540 freight, effectively reducing the discount to $2960. I wish they would handle it differently, but is seems to be a habit of dealers to compare discounted prices without freight to Sticker prices that include freight.

I received my Sienna (xle fwd gh cf) this week and highly recommend them! Find their website, look what they have listed and THAT is your price...you can change the color. The savings depend on how easy or difficult it is for them to get a particular model/package. The Manchester Airport is 10 minutes (if that) down the road. Lots of shopping in the area too, tax free.

    This is for txspare.

If you can find a CE 7 with Option 3, I would take the deal. You cannot find them in the Northeast. I called Toyota and they wont tell you what region has the car. Toyota tells you to call the dealer and speak with the manager. All the dealers want to do is sell you an LE7 with option 7 which is a lot more money. I really like this car but Toyota has their option packages screwed up. They put convinience before saftey. If I could get over the dash in the Quest I would buy it in a second and tell Toyota to stick it. I will probably wind up with a LE 7 package 4 and give up the VSC.

The site allows the name and location of the dealer in question, as far as I know, and this is a forum to abide by the rules and help other readers. What you are allowed to share will help other people especially if your are sharing a positive experience without the need to e-mail you and invade your privacy. What do you think?
" You may include the dealership name and city/state where you purchased, but NO direct links to the dealership site. Also, please do not post salespeople names, phone numbers or email contact information."
  • gindygindy Member Posts: 4
I could not agree more. Toyota does not help its customers, invariably, you are sent to a dealer who wants to sell an LE instead and does not even bother to research availability of a CE. Dealers are sacred to Toyota, but we are the ones who spend the money. Weird, isn't it?
Suggestion to defeat that secrecy: Go to the Toyota web site and look for dealers by zip code, even out your your state. Then e-mail them asking them specific questions. If they send you a "canned" response, send it back to them and tell them to stick to your questions. Some of them will respond with the specifics.

I posted a recommendation last week for AUTOFAIR TOYOTA in Manchester, NH. Our van should be ready sometime in mid February. Did your vehicle arrive at dealership on time or close to the date they stated it would?
We ordered an XLE FWD in Arctic Frost w/ Stone Interior, Package #5 (which comes w/ headphones) and then it also charged us $66 dealer cost for pair of headphones...is this a second set?
Also got wheel locks,Preferred Accessory Package Z1, and $187 cost for Pearl Color
List Price on vehicle including the $510 destination charge was $37,575
We are buying it at $33,699
The only thing they charge extra for on top of this is a Title and Doc fee of $27 and Administration Fee of $94
That's a savings off list of about $3900
What did you do for an extended warranty? We want to get the 7/100K warranty because we plan on keeping this van for at least 6 years. Do you have any recommendations on where to purchase a warranty? Thanks in advance!! Does anybody know if the Sienna comes with the "threshold" protector which is the black rubbery cover on top of back bumper so the paint doesn't get scratched up when loading stuff in back? One dealer listed it as a $60 option but most vans I have seen have it on them.
  • pmcb48pmcb48 Member Posts: 192
The rear bumper protector is an option only on the CE, and standard on all models above that. You should be able to get the Toyota Platinum 100K miles/84 months $0 deductible extended warranty for no more than $950 from the dealer; some are claiming they paid as low as $750, but $850-$950 seems the typical range.

Right, although the finance manager at one dealership told me he sells this warranty for about $1250. (Yum. Nice fat $500 profit, I suspect.) I have no reason to doubt what he said, so $850-$950 is probably not typical!

I also suspect some of the low-cost deals, like the $750 one posted here last week, may have been subsidized a little by other parts of the new vehicle purchase, i.e., a higher price for the vehicle or a low-ball on the trade (or both!!).

That said, figure true dealer cost for any of the manufacturer's extended warranties at about 50% of the suggested retail price listed on the Financial Services page of Toyota.com. The list price for the Sienna 7yr/100K, 0 ded warranty is $1425, so dealer cost should be about $700 (or a little higher). Negotiate hard from there, but expect dealers to quote their cost much higher than that, and in a wide range.

I paid $950 for this particular warranty. However, the next time I buy one, I'm going to work the deal a lot harder, thanks to the posts on this board, and experience with my own purchase. You'll do well at $850 (my opinion, only).
  • cpstechcpstech Member Posts: 24
It took 6 weeks from when I placed the order to the build date. Two weeks later it was on their lot. They had told me 8-12 weeks.

I guess I paid a little more for my ext warranty, 7yr/100,000 $0 deductible for 1180.00. As with all their vehicles, there is no negotiating on warrantys. Since I got a good deal on the van, I'm gonna let it go. I suppose I could search for a better deal, but I HATE negotiating...so I say good enough!

By the way, my vehicle is listed on their website for 800.00 more than I paid. Salesman said it had gone up, but immediately assured me that I was getting the lower price (not that I was worried...but they didn't try to pull any funny stuff).

I'm not sure about the headphones, mine didn't come with them. I'd ask, if the package you ordered comes with headphones, it doesn't make sense for them to charge you separately.

Are you in the NH area? You may have posted but I forget.

My friend last month just bought a 04 sienna CE with option package 2 from Bourne toyota in Augusta, GA, his out of the door price was 23900. But yesterday when I talked with them, tried to let me sell me same vehicle matching his price, no deal. They asked for 24800 something, what happend to them?
  • rodc1rodc1 Member Posts: 36
Seems like most of your questions were answered but to be complete about my experience I'll add the following:
The price on website + 100.00 Processing fee
+ 540.00 freight + 15.00 temporary tag fee= total price paid. I live in michigan so I'll pay sales tax and fee to transfer plates there.

It appears the dealer cost on the 7/100k platinum is about $770. It is available easily from a Toyota dealer in the mid atlantic for $810 ($40 over cost) without negotiation. Details are posted on another forum on the internet, but it is against the user agreement to post the link here.
  • bondguy1bondguy1 Member Posts: 231
Hey, I'm in Florida. I was ready and gave a deposit (refundable, of course) down here. But the NH deal was too good to pass up. $600 to truck it down here. Still saving a ton...about $2300 net of shipping it!!! And, savings at 6% tax of about another $150 based on selling price.

Thanks much; good post. Yes or no, will I find the link to the other forum thru a Google search?

$770 is exactly the figure one finance manager gave me for his cost on the 7yr/100K, 0 deductible warranty. Two others gave me very different, and much higher, amounts.

So, who to believe? That's why, based on my own experience, as well as that of others who've recently posted here, I've suggested figuring dealer cost on any of Toyota's extended warranties at about 50% of Toyota's list price, and negotiating from there.

I wasn't aware of it, but it's good to know you can get this warranty for $810 thru a dealer online, without the hassles of negotiating, no less. (DEALERS TAKE NOTE!) I'm sure that dealerships sell this warranty all day for hundreds more, and most buyers figure that they are getting a good deal if they get a discount of $100-$200 off list. If only they knew.

So, henchforth, anyone who wants this particular warranty should pay no more than $810. QED.

I am planning (hopefully) to order an XLE with package #12 and CF tomorrow. The dealer is currently asking $30,280 + TTL (MSRP $32,871, invoice $28,957. They also happen to have that exact combination (in our color) on their lot. The only issue is that it has nearly 300 miles on it already. My initial perception is that I would prefer to order one and wait 6 - 8 weeks rather than purchase one with that many miles. However, if I could reduce the price to say $29,500 + TTL, I may consider it.

Any thoughts on the deal, or on buying a van with that many miles?
  • liaisonliaison Member Posts: 49
Just wondering if impact01 would tell me the name of the toyota dealer in the mid atlantic area that will sell an extended warranty for $810? It's alright to name dealerships just no links or salesperson.

Just took delivery of an XLE Package 12 with CF. Price paid $29,650 + TTL. I also received a set of splashguards (not installed).

The van did have 300 miles on it already. It apparently was the only van available for test driving for the month of December. I would have preferred one without any miles, but that would have been $700 more.

Also purchased the 7/75K platinum ($0 deductable) for $495. I'm not sure if I could do better than that somewhere else or not.

Overall, very pleased with the deal and with our limited experience with the van.

I placed my order with Earl Stewart in North Palm Beach. Note that I dont have a car or a VIN# yet. Ask for the internet manager. Also, the internet dept at Ed Morse in Delray said they would match if I did business with them. In contrast with prior experience, I found Ed Morse's internet salesperson to be very candid & I would have done a deal with them had Stewart not come through first with the best offer. I dont think I am allowed to post the specific names of managers/salespeople.
  • bondguy1bondguy1 Member Posts: 231
I live in Fort Lauderdale and tried to call interenet dept at Ed Morse in Delray Beach. I even used a different name and had them as a referral through AutoBytel or one of those other car buying services online. They flat out told me when I called, "Hey, we don't get that many of these cars a month...we used to charge a premium over list price...now we're only charging full list". Now, I am buying an XLE Limited...so maybe they don't get that many a month...but I would never pay list or over list price for any car especially a minivan. I went to Maroone Toyota in Weston and Hollywood Toyota and was quoted $1500 and $1800 off full sticker (with a little work) but both gave me $1000 off with no work...as soon as I spoke to them. Ed Morse would never get my business and I would recommend anyone who's local here in Florida to not buy from them either. I wound up buying out of state anyway and as I've stated in previous posts got the van for $3800 off of list. Realize that even if you were to get the van at dealer invoice, they are still making 2% holdback and TMD and whosesale markup profit when combined comes out to about anywhere from $850 to $1100 (which they are entitled to). So when a dealer tries to charge list price, they are way out of line and probably figure that if they throw that number out at enough people, some will bite. There, now that is my 2 cents worth...

Hi, everyone I,m still looking for a dealer here in Indiana who is willing to sell me an XLE(gh)without me having to lose a body part that I may need to drive it with. I've been to several local dealers here in Indy all pretty much in collusion with each other when it comes to price. About six months ago it was $500 off sticker. Today it's $1,500 off. Not bad I guess but, that is still about $1,500 more than I want to pay. After all even with that the dealer was still going to make over $1,600 profit, perhaps more. I won't even get into the trade in that I had which kbb, nada, and black book all said my trade in value was around $3,300 more than one dealer's offer and $2,600 more than another. Anyone else getting this kind of crap from there area dealers? One salesman I met back in Aug. kept calling me several times since then saying he was getting more seinnas in and wanted me to come in for they were ready to deal price. Some price! About $ 6,400 profit for them when you include my trade in. Here is the kicker though, they had over six siennas on their lot covered with snow and even the slesman admitted that the one we were looking at had been there over two weeks. So I know they weren't flying off the lot like he told me earlier. I guess no sale/profit to them was better than a sale making some profit.

Hi Toyotaless1, Have you contacted Kokomo Toyota? They are dealing at approx 3% over invoice(Invoice + TDA that is). They had a couple of XLE's on their lot as of last week. This dealer was passed along to me by "Etalon". You may see some posts from him on this board.

Send me an email for more info, if you like.

  • toyotaless1toyotaless1 Member Posts: 5
APPRECIATE THE LEAD! I'll give kokomo toyota a call. If thats true then I'm on it. I've just been tired of dealing with arrogant sales staff who have cavalier attitudes. i.e.. (take it or leave it.) I certainly want them to make money thats why they're in business. However,It's clear that most have been taking advantage of the past shortages in supply. Glad supply is know catching up. I just don't want to be kicking myself for over paying now only to see better deals being had down the road. I also checked TDA on one web site for my area and it stated $585. I don't know how accurate that figure is for here in Indianapolis? I couldn't find much on TDA. I don't mind paying this either as long has it's reasonable.
  • etalon02etalon02 Member Posts: 20
See my post#3164 in this thread. If you do not plan on buying out of state, you will have a better chance checking out this particular dealer (Kokomo Toyota in central Indiana, about 75 minutes drive to the north of Indianapolis). You can easily get about $2500 discount off sticker, without any haggling. You may even do better than that if you are to buy one off their lot. When we went to pick up our van, I saw an XLE w/ pkg#14 in Actic Frost on their show room floor about two weeks ago.

    Good luck with your purchase.

I am in the Philadelphia area and was able to get LE 7-pass with BW package and wireless headphones (MSRP $27,777) for $25,190 + tax and tags. I've been on this board for months now, and have found it invaluable, as I purchased from Motorworld in Wilkes-Barre and never would have heard of them if not for this board. Anyway, I sent a bunch of emails requesting prices and this was Motorworld's 2nd offer (1st offer was $25,690). All of the local dealers couldn't even come close, and one even told me I shouldn't pass this deal up if I could get it. I took a little bit of a hit on the trade, but I still think my out the door price was good and I love the van!

A friend of mine has another friend who works for Toyota. He volunteered to call the friend in hopes to get me a deal from a local dealer in Jacksonville, FL. Here is the "deal"

2004 Sienna XLE Limited with HE and gold package in Arctic Frost.

    MSRP 36839
    Discount -1000
                 35839
    gold package +150
                 35989

    Fl solid waste fee +6.50
    Delivery and Documentation Fee +399.50
                      36395
    Sales Tax 6% +2183.70
    county tax +50.00
    tag, title, & fee +40.00

    Grand total 38668.70

I will probably go with Autofair. They are checking on the same car for $250 over invoice and $121 application fee. Note that Autofair originally said $100 over invoice in email then when I called them they said price has raised to $250 over invoice....wish me luck

Did you see my post re: Autofair? I don't know what the HE package is but I just ordered that same color vehicle and I'm in Florida. If you tell them (the dealership in Jax) the price you got at Autofair, they will tell you it's not real and jump all over it...and you should!!!

Several weeks ago I visited my Sacramento dealership for an oil change. At the time the store had 20 Siennas in inventory. Yesterday it had 28, more than 3x what it had in late Nov. when I made my purchase.

Two other Sacto dealers each have 24-30 in inventory, including a number of XLE Lim's. (One now has 12 of those!)

One Bay Area dealer between SF and San Jose has an inventory of 46 (yes, 46)! Other dealers in the area are likely also flush.

So, excellent deals should be for the asking, even on vehicles that roll off a delivery truck today. The "turn rate", an essentially meaningless term anyway, is even more irrelevant now.

If I were buying today, I'd work my deal very, very close to invoice. See my post #3030.

Hurry up and order from Autofair! They WILL give you whatever their price is at the time you give them a deposit. By the time my van came in, (2 mos after ordering) the price had gone up 800.00. They have a completely different philosophy...no sales manager for the sales person to get approval from & no finance guys. Their sales people get paid strictly by number of vehicles sold. Since I picked up my van, I've seen several siennas in my town with the NH temp plate/autofair's plate frame.

    Good Luck

.....after the new Ody comes out this Fall.
The Ody may attract a lot of buyers from the Sienna, and this may drop the prices dramatically.
In OKC, only one dealer has an XLE Limited, and he said he would not give any discounts on the Limited, and only $1,000 off on the XLE due to supply and demands.

I basically told him he can keep his supply and I'll hang on to my demands for now until the new Ody comes out this Fall.

After shopping for a sienna for the last few months, dealing with my fair share of good and lousy dealers and watching prices drop, I finally dove in and bought today. I got a XLE Limited (fwd) in silver, HF, CF, RB, WH with msrp of $37.8k and invoice(including tda) of $33.9K. I paid $400 over this price. I worked the entire deal through the internet department of the Walnut Creek Toyota and they were totally top notch with no hassles at all. I was in/out within 30 minutes of looking over the car and deciding to move ahead. Bottomline- fair price and great service. And we love the van!

Just bought the car with $3085 off MSRP and out the door at $39K even plus $850 for 7/100/$0 extended warranty. Great purchase experiance from this Fleet Manager. He show me the price and I agree on it instandly. I could do better but I think the price is good enough after few calls/emails from other dealers.
Build date 1/2004 with the color I want. They still have 1 more left in the lot.
By the way, I'm in Los Angeles Area.

Just ordered van a few weeks ago and it should be in w/in 10 days. I think I can purchase warranty from any Toyota dealer. 850 for 7/100 sounds great. What dealer did you go to? Also, they have different plans...platinum, gold, etc...What's the difference?

what I wanted they had the XLE which is what i want but no DVD player installed so for all who have seen the dvd installed here is a few questions If I get the factory installed dvd player is is like the honda one where the controls are on the floor and the screen is above ? or is it like the one i have on my truck now where the whole module is above? Also i am looking for the sound to come from all the speakers not just the headphones.also I was wondering if I installed my own dvd player through a best buy or some place like that if It does anything to the void any part of the warranties It does bring the price I got down by 1400 dollars and also her is a joke they told me to take 2200 dollars for an 01 gxe nissan sentra as a trade where it is worth more then 3 times that amount . so we are still looking. Also why is there really no choices of splitting options with this van? it seems that we are getting everything or nothing . Just wish toyota would let you build it as how you want it. Still looking for the honda to split the third row on the 05 and then it should get easier to deal with toyota.

On the factory DVD everything is on the overhead unit and it does let you play through the speakers or through the headphones. You also get two 115V outlets.

Sienna supply is defnitely improving so don't take a hit on the trade in. I sold my old car to carmax, so that will give you a good baseline number if there is a carmax near you.

Don't give up on getting a good price on a Sienna in the OKC area. I ordered a Sienna XLE Limited the way I wanted it through Dub Richardson Toyota (instead of with all the junk GST adds on) on 12/20/03 and it was delivered on 2/6/04. MSRP was $36K and my "out the door" price was $33,300 (including all fees).

Does any one know what other fees Autofair.com charges on top of their "Upfront lowest pricing"?

Does this price include TDA, Delivery, and Doc Fees? I know it would not include sales tax...

I have their order sheet from Autofair. The price that they quote for me was $100 over dealer invoice cost (which means they charge you cost on options and packages too). This $100 over includes TDA, Holdback, etc...
The only thing they add on is $121 fee for processing (it's actually two things...one of which is processing but together add up to $121). They have been great to deal with so far...waiting to get my XLE Limited soon...Ordered the Arctic Frost w/ Stone Int...can't wait to finally get it.
From another post recently on Edmunds, someone said they are doing $250 over now..not $100. Still a great deal compared to local dealers.
