My Van:
LE - 8 passenger
Package 6 (BZ for the dealers)
CF (Mats)
WH (Wireless Headphones)
$25,995/-
Tax 6%
Title $197
Dealer Paperwork $45
I believe I got a good deal in the tri-state area (did look/call lots of dealers)
Hope this helps.
PS - The van is coming from Toyota North, Mt. Kisco, NY
But what REALLY bothers me is this: I told them my father was thinking of buying my trade-in. We talked about it for the 2 MONTHS it took for my van to come in. At the end, he decided he didn't want it and we did trade it in. I picked up my new van at noon yesterday. Last night, my father wished he'd kept my van, so I called them at 9:00 a.m. when they opened this morning, LESS than 24 hours after the deal, to see if they would trade a different car in or just take cash for the trade-in value.
These car dealers have their reputation for a reason - they would not reverse the 10 minutes of paperwork they had done, and even though they had done absolutely NOTHING to my trade-in, they almost TRIPLED the cost for us to "buy" it back.
I understand dealers have to make a profit, but their degree of greed and inflexibility is disturbing. I STRONGLY urge all Tulsans to look elsewhere for a better dealer.
Thank You.
Good luck with your van congrats! I'm still looking, but am more likely to get the Sienna now than the Odyssey. One local dealer who I have contacted before, said that the Odyssey doesn't have very good leases at all and couldn't have been more honest. He felt Toyota was way ahead in that department, but that Honda was doing well in overall price. Maybe next year (or next month) the Odyssey will be a better lease. Fortunately I like both vehicles. Gotta wait til April, when my other lease runs out. Not soon enough!
Welcome to the Sienna club...i guess the current lease deal from TFS is over now...but a dealer should be able to give you as good a deal.
Hopefully I will be reading about your happy experience on this forum soon...
You got that quote for a LE7 with package 6???? That should be your cost after tax, title and reg...If you live in MD, then you can't be buying a Sienna if you are not buying it from either Fitzmall.com or Darcars...You do know about the great internet pricing???
I was planning to come to MD and buy my minivan from Fitzmall.com, but they could not find my color, model and option package combination....
Hope all this helps some more...
"Our pricing when accepting an order is $ 200 or $ 569 Over invoice for
our internet or value price. Choice is yours. The value price includes our
Lifetime loaner car program and lifetime buyer protection plan.
Only additional charges are $99 processing fee and Tax Tag and Title
as applicable."
I don't understand why package 6 is not readily available? I really want the power seats and so that's my desire for package 6. While I like the Salsa Red Pearl - I not all that committed to that color, just the package.
Thanks again.
I tried to buy my 2004 Sienna LE from the same Waldorf dealer but soon realized that they were way too dishonest for my money (and I dealt with a supposed sales manager). I ended up buying in Springfield VA but could have easily bought from Fitzmall (Montgomery County) as well. They don't play the games that most dealers do. As for the Walfdorf dealer's service department, they are pretty good. My Sienna has had a few recalls done there and they were efficient, thorough, and professional (as service dept's go). Good luck with your lease but be careful if you stay at the Waldorf dealer.

Toyota's decisions about what packages to make available in what regions are one of the great mysteries of the universe. Stephen Hawking should investigate. If you build your Toyota online at the website and enter a zipcode from one of the Toyota Central Atlantic region states (including Maryland), you'll see they only show two option packages for an LE FWD in the region--neither of which is #6. I'm also interested in the power seats and a #6, but apparently you either have to special order (and wait) or upgrade to an XLE. Neither is particularly customer friendly.
One or two won't make a difference but if it happens enough, things will change. This is the year 2005 and people are educated. We shouldn't have to put up with this.

Anyone have any luck with an CT Toyota Dealers? We will be in the market for an LE 8 pass. not sure of options. When I went to Lorenson in Old Saybrook for literature I was not impressed with the snide sales person so I don't think they will get my business, unless someone can tell me SUPER things about them.
The rest is more of an insurance/accident question, which I posted on that forum, but this board is much more active...
I was rear ended yesterday by a tractor trailer-100% his fault. Problem is we have been planning on getting a van this spring and wanted to sell our car privately vs. trading in to try to get a little more $. Now that it's been in an accident we don't feel comfortable selling it to someone. Plus we won't get as mch as we had hoped.
Now, our question is: would one recommend taking a check from the insurance company to put toward down payment and trade in the car "as is". My thought is if the estimate for damage is greater than 4k, and we can get 4-5k for a trade in (based on edmunds figures) tha we aren't behind as we had hoped to get 9k for the sale this spring. Or should we jst get it fixed and trade it in this spring as we had planned?
Has anyone been in such a situation?
For what it is worth the car is an '01 Accord value package with 80k miles, which is high we know. The damage has not been assessed proffessional, but it goes from the top of trunk to the bumper and the entire width of the car, including lights.
Thanks for any input.
You really need to get some firmer numbers before you can make an informed decision here. Broadly speaking, my inclination would be to try to sell the vehicle in its damaged condition (there are many folks who buy 'em and fix 'em up) as your overall net may be greater that way.
Also, it seems that you are describing quite a bit of damage, likely more than $4000 worth.
I was looking for a LE-8 Package 6 (BZ) in the southwest CT (stamford) area. Visited quite a few dealers, no luck in getting a good deal with any of them....I was going to go to Maryland to FitzMall for the car I needed at the price I was willing to pay. But I got lucky with Toyota North in Mt Kisco. and got a deal for 25,995/- for the above mentioned car. The only thing was that the exact color and package was not in stock so have ordered it for...they promised delivery in 3 weeks which will be sometime end of next week. The price was fantastic, I am still waiting to rate them on the service and delivery part....Hope this helps.
If you like to read some more, just do a search on posting from me and you see my whole saga of buying the Sienna...Enjoy!
Just curious how many times do people go back and forth with offers before settling? I just don't know how far I can push before they say we don't need your business. (This email negotiating is fun-I can be so much more assertive and not back down.) Also, am I correct that a quote from Fitz is set in stone?
This site has been extremely valuable to me and I appreciate everyone for that!
I'm in Oregon and am looking for a new sienna 05 LE
FWD package #5.
What would be the good/best price on this in this area/anywhere? It can be 7 or 8 pass config.
Thanks in advance,
John.
Has anyone purchased the rear spoiler? How much did that cost?
Thanks in advance for your help.

A-1 (New Haven, CT) 26,388- They said all Siennas on the lot are being sold at $500 over invoice. I haven't tried yet to get lower.
Wallingford Toyota (CT) 27,470- This is the only dealership I have tried to negogiate. After a few emails, he says that is still what the manager will sell it at. Needess to say, they are out of the running.
I have yet to get anymore quote. I am curiuos to get from Wellesley Toyota (MA) and Mt. Kisco North (NY). These two dealship names came from posters who got decent prices for the LE 8 pas. with #6(BZ).
Price I got from prestige toyota in N. NJ was like $37K but I think I can do better.
Do dealers differ greatly on lease prices?
Should I begin negotiating now or wait for sometime?
The vehicle was listed on the internet at $30,344 but a coupon on the site allowed for another $300 off, making the price including freight $30,044. This vehicle didn't include mats so they were an additional $170.
The buying process was very easy and low pressure, only a bit of a pitch to buy the extended warranty (we didn't). No dealer adds were even presented.
We feel we got a very solid deal. Darcars price was approx. $2000 less than carmax and approx $800 less than Fitzmall. I believe that all of Darcars Sienna prices dropped approx $500 to $1000 since I started researching in the past week. Perhaps Toyota is recently offering new incentives to dealers? If you look at the local Md sites there are a ton of Siennas on the lots - Darcars' 3 MD locations have 260, Carmax in Laurel has 130, Fitmall has 120, and the other dealers I've seen have tons on the lot. Supply appears to have caught up with demand in this area.
Wondering how you have made out with Mt. Kisko- did you get the van yet? I am considering going down there. I spoke with a salesman who said he would do whatever it takes, but had to be in the showroom to prove I was serious. Do you mind if I ask you what your out the door total was? Was it for the LE 8 passenger bz or bw? What additional expenses occur when buying out of state? From what I can tell you just pay a temp. registration to NY and reregister in CT.
Did you have a trade? How did that go? My trade has an estimated $3000 worth of damage so, I am not sure what I will get.
I realize this is a lot of questions, but this is getting so difficult as CT dealers say their invoivce is a lot more than the Kelly or Edmunds.
Thanks,
sjm
Thanks

Sorry was not following up on my postings as closely lately, but I guess the deal is working out better for you from the MA dealer....I took possession on my Toyota Sienna LE 8 passenger with the package 6 (BZ) and also got a pair of free wireless head phones for my RSA...
Car price - $ 25,995/-
Doc fees - $45
Out of state CT registration fees - $210
Taxes - 6%
Got the special Toyota Spring sale financing 3.9% for 5 years, fully financed...
The car was promised on Mar 17th...was delivered on Mar 17th. The possession was painless, in and out of the dealership in 45 minutes....
I tried a trade in but was given an awful NADA book value, sold the car for double of what they offered me....other than the trade in part, I thought the delership experience was fantastic...highly recomended. Toyota North of Mt. Kisco, NY...
Loving the Sienna...and moving on to the Sienna owners club now
Good Luck!
KBB and Edmonds lists the invoice at $27,918. Branch is now quoting $29,883 and MT Kisco's price is "about $29,400 or $29,500"
Does this sound high? When I mentioned the invoice price to the Mt Kisco salesman, he told me that those numbers on the internet are not accurate because they do not incl fees such as advertising.
Also, what CT dealers did you go to? Did you actually visit these people in person or on the phone and e-mail. Most of the initial responses from the dealerships are already wanting to set up appointments. Is it reasonable to expect that I just walk into a dealership at time of delivery? The last time I purchased a car was 5 years ago and I know things have changed a lot since then.
Thanks
$27,114 100 over invoice
$9,600 fpr trade of 1999 Yukon (Leaking Oil)
2.9% financing..
Bougth From Toyota of Naperville, IL
I did get the same response from Mt. Kisko and did call. The salesman said he would match it and try to do better than the price given (I told him the $25,999 someone I knew-another poster...) He said he could not give me firm numbers until I was in the dealership to show that I was serious. If I was not going to be in MA, I would have paid them a visit. Also, you can tell them you are looking for quotes and will make appointments when you are ready to buy. My line I used on Wallingford, "If I wanted to go to the dealership I would have gone already, right now, I am looking for a quote." I realize that is harsh and you risk losing any negotiating, but I didn't like the guy from the start and knew I wouldn't go there.
I have found the invoice numbers to be higher than Edmunds. BOCH said their invoice on LE 8 pass. bz was $26,140. Lynch in Manchester said it was $26,292. The only way I can see it is, to add $565 destination fee, plus extras not in package, but included such as floor mats and cargo net.
DON'T pay for VIN etching. Dealer fees vary, based on what I can't say, but BOCH was $198. Recheck sethi's breakdown of fees from Mt. Kisko. Once we get our van, which might be today-yeah- I can give a full break down of our numbers.
I didn't go into a dealership and my plan was to get the best quotes first then go when fully loaded with the numbers. Turns out only went into BOCH. I had started to make an appointment with A-1 in New Haven, but the guy didn't get back to me in a timely fashion, so cancelled and went to BOCH. The following are all the dealers with whom I made inquiries and their quotes or responses:
CT:
Wallingford- 27,470-wouldn't budge
A-1 New haven- 26,388 (bw package-said this month special all Sienna's on lot $500 over invoice)
Lynch in Manchester- $26516 out the door 28,508 (convayence fee-$298 I thought this was high) they were nice
Middletown- emailed no response. So I called, refused to give me a quote over the phone. Claimed 90% of customers that walk throught the door buy-PLEASE-I told him they weren't the dealship for me.
Hartford: I didn't even try after reading previous poster issue. However, my neighbor got an XLE at a price they thought was good-don't know exactly. It was a friend of a friend situation thoug, so not sure how common folk would make out.
Colonial Milford- Driving by and decided to see if what they had. They had one 8 pass. and it was not the package. Salesman was awful, claimed there was a $1400 preperation fee!!! I told him I would pay, he said blah, blah, blah, then moved on. He asked so, you want to pay MSRP? What, he thought I was a fool, told him my offers, he took my email, but I toldhim not to waste his time if he couldn't beat the offers-never heard a thing back. (neighbor also had negative experience)
Girard -New London- 27,000 would come down.
Gale- emailed no response
Lorensen-Old Saybrook- got literature from them and didn't like their attitude so didn't even try.
MA dealers:
BOCH - Norwood- the winner at 25,500. Didn't trade as that was awful, but felt we couldn't beat the price.
Wellesley-email no response
NY:
Mt. Kisko-emailed, said to call and did- $25,999 with offer to do better.
MD- Fitz- 25,816 SUPER nice to deal with. They will deliver-not sure at what cost though.
Well, i hope this isn't too jumbled, my kids are trying to get my attention while I write, so forgive errors.
Good luck
sjm
one last thing- you may want to see if that package is actually available in this region, that may be the problem locating it.
It was already installed. I had that price agreed on with diferent dealer, but they didn't have the color. We got silver over stone leather and it looks very nice with spoiler. walked in to look at the colors to compare. They priced me at $ 37,500. I told them i have very good price and the dealers name. Then they started with trade-in. Offered me $ 2000 less than Kelly Blue Book. So i told them it's worth
$17,300 (2001 Infinity QX4). No more talking, agreed on my numbers. Dealer name ELMHURST TOYOTA. It is western suburb of CHICAGO. Very pleasant experience.
I have not spoken with them yet, so I will not believe it until I see it in person, but I do like the fact that their website lists the invoice price right next to the MSRP. And they have a large inventory of Siennas.
I never took your advice to call BOCH because we really want to buy our new Sienna in the next few days and they do not have what we want.
Price: 25,500
dealer fees: 198
registration: 165
tax: 6%
I still think it may be worth a call to see what they have-they may not update their site regularly. They had about 40 Siennas on the lot. At the least, you can get a solid quote from them and use that for bargaining power against what you have. I am not familiar with the pricing on the AWD so I can't say if it sounds good or not. I figured anything around a Fitz price was very good.
Another dealer to consider is the Superstore or SuperAuto Mall in NH. They too list invoice next sticker. Look through the posts to get the actual name, I believe sethi looked into them.
Be careful of all their fees, there shouldn't be that many.
Good luck!
THANK YOU< THANK YOU for such wonderful advice!!!!
