Is this part of the 2nd row bench seat option? Is it available on all trims? Thanks.
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
There is no "bench seat option." It is a third separate seat in the second row. Unfortunately, it is not available on all trim levels.

Just got a XLE FWD Package 6 but with an upgraded DVD system. Did not like the dinky DVD screen on the regular packages. This makes it somewhere between a package 6 and a 7 (upgraded DVD but no 110 outlets). Paid 33,160 + TTL. (Including two extra headphones making it 4 total). I may have been able to get under 33,000 but the incessant back and forth to the sales booth by the sales manager to "squeeze" more dollars off was getting old. By the way, I could not find a package 8 in Utah. Would have to either wait or go to California or Idaho. We are going to put our own nav system in.

    Hi Tech_art,

We are looking at the same model in NJ. Can you let me know where you purchased your LE with pkg #4 from.

    Thanks

    Hi,
I'm new to this forum and would like to get some info on the price before heading to the dealers. We're interested in a Sienna XLE Fwd w/ the package # 7 (the color is red but that's not our top priority right now). I'd like to know if someone in Rockville, or Potomac, MD area has recently bought a similar Sienna. If so, please let me know how much you paid and where. Edmunds TMV price indicates $33,993 but maybe someone did get a better price.
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
The best reported Sienna prices in the country are in your area - try Dacars and Fitzgerald.

I received a price quote from a local dealer for a base XLE - $26,469. thoughts?
  • tech_arttech_art Member Posts: 33
    have no idea.
after testing drive, the mananger gave that #, spent 1.5 hr trying to lower that #, couldn't do it. but still, it's a good #

I just agreed on a price of $38,300. (Good Deal?) The dealer calls back today and says there is a $400 upcharge for Arctic Frost Pearl, an extra set of wireless headphones and a first aid kit. Does this sound right? Edmonds pricing doesn't calculate Arctic Frost Pearl as a higher cost finish. Althought Toyota's website says it's a higher cost finish but I can't find the $$ amount.
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
Arctic Frost is, as I recall, $210 more on the MSRP. $190 for the other items sounds a tad high.

Just bought a 2005 Sienna LE 7 pass BZ (package 6) and CF (floor mats). Initially, O stopped at Penn Toyota for a test drive. Salesman gave a price of 26,500 and hinted that he would go lower if we were ready to deal. I then started on the internet. Fitzmall told me there was no package 6 available. I got a price of $25,687 from Boch. When I called they added a $198 fee. I relayed this to Fitz and suddenly they had a package 6 available. They offered it for $25,687 without the $198 fee.
I went to my local dealer (Star in Bayside, NY). They refused to match. The manager told me I would be hit with Delivery and dealer prep. His price was $27,200.
I went back to Penn. I told the salesman my price. He spoke to the manager, came back and started giving me the same routine about delivery and dealer prep. I insisted that the price was for everything but taxes, tags and title. It was kind of funny because he assumed the price was from Star, and started telling me how they were notorious for this type of thing. Finally I got a price out of him: $26,700. When I pointed out that this was higher then the first price he told me that was last month and “everything’s different now.” I thanked him and my wife and I started to get out of our seats. The salesman suddenly decided to talk to the manager again. He came back said he would match the $25,687 price. Now we asked about our trade.
The Edmunds trade value was $5,125. We decided that we would take $7500 for sure. They offered 5k. We said we weren’t sure if we wanted to buy or trade (we weren’t) and would sleep on it. At this point the manager came over. He offered to make the price an even 20k. My wife got him to throw in an alarm and Lojack and we signed. The only catch was we had to come back so they could inspect our trade on the lift.
When I brought my car back to be inspected the salesman and manager that made the sale were nowhere to be found. They took my trade away and brought around my new car for me to see. So I’m sitting in my new car thinking “I’m being set up.” Sure enough the manager takes me into an office and explains that the car has a bent frame and was overvalued. I took out the contract and my credit card. I told him write cancelled on the contract and refund my deposit. “You want to drive a car with a bent frame” he asked incredulously. I assured him I did. He told me he “only” wanted to lop $1000 off the trade value. I declined. He took my credit card and, after the inevitable 10 minute wait, returned. Without a receipt. “How about $250,” he asked. His voice betrayed that he was begging. “Nothing “I offered. “Can you pick this up tomorrow?”
And that was basically that. When I left after having the trade inspected I felt victorious. I mean I had the guy begging. But now its left a bad taste in my mouth. Overall though, I think I got a good deal.

Hi all, we're interested in either a CE or LE 8 passenger van. Could somebody from the greater Seattle area give some suggestions on pricing and good dealership/salesperson? We live in Sammamish but are willing to drive 40+ miles for a good deal. I test drove at Michael's Toyota in Bellevue, and the sales person I dealt with walked off on me because I was a little hesitant to leave my name and contact info. Judging from his attitude, i don't feel very hopeful of getting a good deal on one of these vans. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,

Can anyone provide a lead on a Southern California dealership who will provide decent pricing? Best I've been able to come up with is probably about $700 over invoice (although that same dealership is now saying $900 over). Thanks.

Is this price same for every Sienna Model? I am looking to get extended coverage (warranty) for 2005 LE 8 Passenger Package #8 (LE8 PKG#8).
    Please advise.
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
While EW pricing is the same for every Sienna, that price varies by dealer and, like anything else related to a vehicle purchase, is negotiable.

patel_clan, asking for opinions on an out the door price is not the best way to learn how good the deal is. Break it down into vehicle price and each additional charge.

I shopped extensively over the winter and will tell you that the Sienna market in Central and NE Ohio is hardly the best (price-wise). For a comparison, get quotes from Fitzgerald and Dacars in suburban Washington, DC.

    rjj,
I live in Los Angeles. The best price I could find in my area was from Caron Toyota http://www.carsontoyota.com/ They price at invoice, not as good as darcars but the best I could find. Also from their web site you can see their entire inventory.

    Hi All,
I've reading (and rereading) this forum on Siennas and Odyssey's for what seems like forever. I am leasing this month a Sienna LE, probably package #5, which is offered at two dealers (Darcars & Fitzmall) in the Maryland area (I live in upstate NY). I would prefer to buy locally, but the delaers I have talked with (all pleasant) don't seem to be able to touch these two Maryland dealers. From what I have seen of their prices, Darcars is a little bit lower than Fitzmall. They also seem a little bit more complicated to deal with over the phone and email. For those of you (and it seems like a lot) who have dealt with these two dealers, which did you choose and why? Do these dealers finance through Toyota as well, or other banks, and if so any fine print I should be aware of. If anyone would share their lease rates as well I would appreciate it. And if anyone knows of a really good dealer in upstate NY, I would love to know who. Thanks all.

I'm looking to get an XLE Package #6 or 7 in the next few months and have visited the Burlingame dealer only but have not tried to talk money yet...any dealers in the Bay Area close to invoice?
  • bkrushbkrush Member Posts: 3
I was all ready to buy an LE from Carmax in Columbia, Maryland when I stumbled upon this discussion and discovered DarCars and Fitzmall. They definitely have the best advertised prices from what I can tell. For those of you who have purchased from them I was wondering what your experince was like. Is the advertised internet price the real price (i.e no haggling, no last minute fees-added on, etc?). Was the transaction straightforward without any games or pressure? I am willing to contact them and start the buying process, but since I have never purchased from either of them I wanted to know what to expect...if anything. Thanks. This forum has been a big help!!!

We are starting our hunt as well for a 2005 XLE Pckg 7 or 8 and will be looking for a good dealer in the bay area, but I am also interested in how you worked with KC Summers for the ext warranty? did you call direct and order, or via web-site? , thanks for your insight. :)

I think you are referring to the XLE with package #6. I paid invoice back in January. If you read the boards, some have been able to get below invoice now.

I would deal with Darcars if I were you. But deal with the one on Frederick MD, not the Silver Springs dealership. Quite a bit of difference between the two IME.

The salesman at Silver was slippery and actually not very helpful at all. The guys at Darcars of Frederick (internet dept) were so precise, honest, and straightforward that I wanted to buy from them based on that behaviour alone. The fact that they had the best price by a decent margin was just icing on the cake.

I drove 370 miles and everything down to the smallest detail was exactly as promised when I picked up the vehicle. I don't know how much of that was my particular salesman and how much was the dealership. All I know is I was 100% satisfied. They were only the second dealer I can say that about in my 30 years of owning and driving cars. (The other great dealer experience was at Dwight Harrison VW in Atlanta GA.)

    Good luck!
  • coltrcoltr Member Posts: 18
I bought at the Silver Spring DarCars and did not have any issues. I did not find them to be slippery...The price as advertised was what it was and nothing more. Good experience, price and VIN were determined before I flew in from Columbus, Ohio.

I also looking for a XLE #13 or #6. I contacted 4 dealers in San Jose area. Two of them gave me $4500 below MSRP (Fremont and Stevens Creek). I am still waiting for 2 other dealers quotes. I also saw a newspaper (san francisco chronicle) yesterday (5/7/2005). Melody toyota (burlingame) advertised $4500 below MSRP. My target price is $4750~$5000 below MSRP :P . Bottom line is you can find a better deal than you expected. Good luck.

My Darcars Silver Spring, Maryland, experience was worst. There was an advertised price for an LE this weekend and I called ahead on Friday to verify that it is at that price + tax + tag and $100 proc fee. The salesman told me that he checked with his manager and that is the actual price. I had him prepare it so I can be there in an hour. When I got to the dealership the car had damages (front bumper and right rear fender). They were still pushing to sell the car and I was told that they can fix it an hour. But the way it looked it got hit at more than 10MPH because the front bumper has a 1 foot area scratched so bad that some of the plastic came of.

Is it legal to sell a brand new car with damages??? Will they inform the next buyer that it had precious damages??

I also knew that the other Darcars Toyota in the area (355 Toyota and Frederick) has an identical van and I asked them if I could get that car instead. They gave me reasons like "it is already sold" and "I can't sell a car from another dealership" and so on. I checked the next day at the other dealership and it was still available but the salesman didn't return my call.

Check out the LE pricing w/ incentives now on the Siennas.
Toytoa Sienna LE FWD with LE Package #1 AM and Carpet Floor Mats $23,121.
Toytoa Sienna LE FWD with LE Package #6 BZ $25,200. MSRP 28,800.

Looking for advice on an Extended Warranty, Warranty Direct and www.aaautowarranty.com looked more reasonable than www.warrantywarehouse.com which was a lot higher. Any others worth considering?

Thanks Wireless. I have been having problems with Darcars responding back to me. I began with one guy over the interenet, and when I wanted a lease quote, he couldn't get it, said I had to go to the finance guy. So I called him, and then he referred me to the interenet manager, who said to get a lease quote, I would have to go through the other guy again, but would use one of his internet sales guys to handle that for me, (and this was on Friday of last week). I was supposed to get a call or at least an email, but had nothing waiting for me this morning. Fitzmall on the other hand, I have had to only deal with one guy who is fairly prompt. Problem is, the rates aren't as good now as 2 months ago, and their selection isn't quite as good as Darcars. I have written one more time to Darcars on a specific model that I want to lease NOW, and see if that prompts anyone. So if I hear back from them soon (like today or tomorrow at the latest) I will see what their offer is, and decide then. If I don't hear from them, than Fitzmall gets my business. Thanks for the feedback though - it does help! irg
  • irgirg Member Posts: 197
    Coltr,
Did you call them, or did you set up your deal over email? I am also buying from out of state, any problem getting the taxes done correctly?
  • irgirg Member Posts: 197
    Ord62,
That does not sound like a good experience to me either. I would not have taken the van. What is the difference between Frederick dealership and the 355 Toyota dealer? I'm not sure I even understand that choice when I look at their website. Frederick is closer to me than Silver SPrings, so I would rather deal with them. I would assume if I found a van at Silver Spring, they could lease it to me at the Frederick store. Thanks for sharing.

I leased a Sienna through Fitzmall in March. It was about a 200 mile trip (I live in NJ) but it was well worth it. I had several discussions with the salesman over the phone prior to going down there. No dealers in my area could even come close to the deal I got. Everything I had discussed with the salesperson over the phone was accurate to the penny once I got there. I was in and out of the dealership in about an hour. Definitely the best experience I've ever had with an auto dealership.
  • irgirg Member Posts: 197
Thanks - this is exactly what I wanted to hear! I had a local dealer tell me when he heard the price I was being quoted on a base XLE, to go get it now. He couldn't touch, and he really wanted to. He even mentioned that their residual rates were better than here locally, which he couldn't understand. The guy at Fitzmall has been good to me so far, and that is worth something to me. Sure, I want to get the best deal, and Darcars might be a little better price wise, but their lack of getting back to me has almost given me no other option but Fitzmall.
  • wirelesswireless Member Posts: 47
If you're happy with your salesman at Fitzmall, go with him. The guy I got at Fitzmall wouldn't negotiate although they would have been my second choice because you generally hear good things about them. But they were a little slow getting back to me and I had to call and talk to a salesman. I wanted to minimize that part of it.

But you can go to the Darcars website, put your curser over Toyota and then slide over to Frederick and it will bring up their website. Then go to information contact and send an email. I sure they'll get back to you if my experience is typical. The internet manager and the salesguy I worked with were great.
  • coltrcoltr Member Posts: 18
    IRG,

I called and selected the VIN from the webpage I wanted. DarCars confirmed the VIN and deal at my request via an email. I must admit, I did have a plan B at Fitzmall when I flew to Maryland just in case I got jacked around, I didn't.

From out of state, you pay the tax rate of the county you reside in. DarCars collects the taxes from you when you buy the vehicle. When the memorandum of title is received from Toyota, DarCars mails you the title memorandum and tax check made out to your Clerk of Courts/Tax Auditor. You provide the tax check at the time you title the vehicle in your state. I had a little bit of trouble getting the check because DarCars finance mailed it directly to the County Clerk who mailed it back to them. The second mailing (overnight) was lost by DHL, a slight delay but DarCars issues a 60 day Maryland temp when you buy the vehicle.

Sorry, I have been out of town. If you will type 3604 at the top of this page where it says "go to message" I give info on the extended warranty. Basically I got the general phone number from the web, called and asked for the finance manager. I gave him some info on the phone and faxed him something. They sent me a form to complete. I mailed it back with a check and got the warranty back in the mail. The entire transaction took about 10 days.
