    Hi Alex 46015 -

Thanks for the reply! FYI - my MSRP is $31,340 so if your offer includes EVP#2 & JBL Audio, it looks like a good deal as well. I believe dealers in MD/DE are the only ones who seemed to be really interested making a deal. They also happen to have plenty of stocks to choose from.

Good luck to all of us!

Did you see the vehicle in person before you paid for it?

I'd have a hard time trusting that task to someone else, I guess.

We live in Sacramento, CA. We have owned two Chrysler minivans and are considering purchasing our first Toyota. Our neighbor owns an XLE with 30,000 with leather interior, power sunroof, running boards, and alloy wheels which he plans to sell in January or February of 2010. The vehicle is in perfect condition inside and out and he purchased an extended warranty which is transferrable to a new owner for a small fee. He is going to ask $21,000 for it which seems to be in line with the Kelly Bluebook private party price.

There are also three other vans available here from dealers which have caught our interest: a 2008 LE with 36,000 miles for $18,000; a 2009 LE with 3,400 miles for $24,000; and a 2010 LE with 10,400 miles for $24,400. The Carfax reports for all these vehicles indicate no problems. While our neighbor's car is in perfect condition and has been well cared for, we are looking at these other vans because the sunroof and runningboards are not important options for us, and we want eight-passenger seating.

I understand that Toyota is going to introduce the 2011 model in February or March of 2010, but I have not seen any pricing information. It seems logical to me that the introduction of the 2011 model will reduce the value the vehicles listed above and all existing Siennas. However, if the prices of the 2011 Siennas are higher than the 2010 models, that may drive the price of used Siennas up a bit.

Care to share what you think is going to happen?
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I don't have a crystal ball, but it seems very unlikely that the prices of used Sienna would go up, given how many improvements the 2011 models get. The LE, for instance, will add a standard backup cam, a 2nd power door, and a power tailgate, not to mention a 6th ratio on the automatic.

I don't see how values of the old model will go up (I own a 2007, BTW).

Depending upon how many are left over, if they have a lot of them they may have to clear them out, and then prices could actually drop.

    Boxerbob-

08's are nice, I would also consider a low miles 07 Certified- you still get 4-5 years of power train warranty, 3 month comprehensive, plus the 07 and 08 models are nearly identical.

Cars.com and Toyota's Certified websites have good search engines to seek out Certified cars locally and nationally. You are in luck - there seems to be a bunch of good deals throughout California on low miles Certified Siennas.

Before my purchase- I talked with 3 local Toyota Mechanics and each of them suggested the CE model since I am planing on keeping it long term. Power doors are really expensive to fix and they do break.

For the price difference between a new CE and LE you can get a very nice after market stereo system, DVD player, tinted windows, tow bar and a set of snow tires. Or better yet keep you $ for that trip to Costa Rica you have been dreaming about.

Recently got some quotes for 2010 Sienna LE. Besides the prices of base model and options, there are some fees of $577 TDA (Toyota Dealer association), $9.84 gasoline, $524 dealer holdback, $262 Whsl financial Reserve. Is it normal? never hear them before.
  • tekkamakitekkamaki Member Posts: 23
There is a fee for everything they can think of - if you let them get away with it.

Mine had only a $55 doc. fee (I think they have spent way more than that on fedex) and an $8 fee for emissions. Its a certified used - like comparing apples to oranges.

    Hi, Kanzos,

Did you get your Sienna XLE 2010? I am curious how you can get your price with 0% APR ? but definetly it is good price.

    Best

    Alex

    Hi Alex -

Yes - I actually drove 4 hours yesterday to pick up the car and I am very satisfied with the vehicle.

Getting that price was not easy but it was not impossible. It looks like the dealers with the most inventory are more willing to negotiate with you.

If you are in the area (Northeast), I can give you the name of sales person and the dealership.

    Let me know.
  • kanzoskanzos Member Posts: 6
    It is back to $27,495!

Hi - I am getting a quote for XLE limited with Package # 2 - MSRP is 42000 and I am being quoted 37000 + TTL - is this a good deal? I got this quote while visiting a family member in Long Island. I am in the market and I need a 4WD. I can wait till April but by then I am afraid the prices will not be negotiable.

Also for the past month we have gone from considering MDX to Touring to XLE back to MDX and now its finally XLE.

I am grateful for any input... thank you !

I'm in the market for a minivan, the new 2011 Sienna looks much better than the current outgoing model, IMO. unless you can get a deal for thousands less on a 2010, I don't see why not to wait for the new one.
  • s2kmr2s2kmr2 Member Posts: 28
The 7 pass XLE FWD with EVP 1 is back up to $27,828 and the EVP 3 is back up to 29,110. on fitzmall.com . This is for 2010 models. I think I will hold out for a 2011 unless the 2010 prices get ridiculously low.
  • inspectoringinspectoring Member Posts: 102
But the problem is that there won't be any discounts at all for at some time - I think. I don't claim to understand the market fully but what I was told by the DEALER - was that they don't expect to discount the van for at least a year.

Another factor is the APR - right now it is zero percent and for 60 months it is 1.9 % which is impressive.

I am in the same boat - really wish I could get a reasonably accurate answer regarding what kind of deals to expect within 2-3 months of the launch.
  • tekkamakitekkamaki Member Posts: 23
I tend to agree that they have pretty good financing deals going right now on new cars, Its hard to tell how long it will take for good deals on the '11's. In the end If you are buying new it comes down to which style you like best and if you are willing to wait.

Deals also depend on how the economy does in the next 6 months. I won't even try to give a prediction on that one.

Congrats on your new Sienna. Really like the Blizzard Pearl color. Sounds like a decent deal, you got OTD for less than MSRP. Don't know what you paid in tax and doc fees, so can't be specific on how decent a deal.
  • alex46015alex46015 Member Posts: 12
Please give me the information. I live in NC, I am not sure how North the dealer are. Thanks.

BTW ..Did you buy extended warranty?
  • pasackpasack Member Posts: 3
We just got a 2010 XLE FWD in Blizzard Pearl with

EVP #4 (Navigation, Bluetooth, Rear Entertainment, etc)
CF Carpet Floor Mats/Door Sill Protector
    TO Towing Prep Option
    PC Special Paint

    AW 17" Alloy Wheels
    ?? Rear Spoiler

    0 down, 0% financing for 36 months.

for approximately 32K (including delivery, advertising, etc...) + TTL from Power Toyota in Irvine, CA. Of course, TTL in California is YIKES! Overall, it was a pretty good experience and the numbers they showed us matched Edmund's numbers exactly. We settled on 0.5% over invoice and that was that.

P.S. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences.

Just got a quote on SILVER SHADOW PEARL, Sienna XLE with Evp #4, /LF/AW/PV for 30,164 without financing. Is this a good price? Comments needed in hurry! Thanks.

    Hi Alex -

Sorry I just saw your posting. I bought it in Marlyand at Darcars Toyota of Frederick. Please send me a message if you are interested in finding out the sales person as well. The person I dealt was exceptional and very trustworthy.

I did not purchase an extedned wararanty (despite the usual sales pitch by finance manager) because I can buy it anytime in next 3-year period.

$30,164 +TTL is a good price, which is $700 less than Fitzmall's price.

I hope the destination and all other fees are included in $30164.

    Thank you! Kanzos,

Marlyand is kind a litle far away from here.

Enjoy your new car and happy Holiday!

Picked up a 2010 Sienna XLE + EVP #3 for $29,000 (before tax + DMV fees etc)

Took advantage of promotional financing...0.0% APR

Totally loving the van and cannot wait to get on road trips in the spring & summer
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
Good deal. My dealer wanted $29.000 for Sienna XLE EVP2.
  • serenesiennaserenesienna Member Posts: 4
Not a bad deal if you ask me...you should seriously consider it if you are serious about getting the van. Good Luck

I bought on Friday Silver Pine 2010 Sienna LE 8-pass EVP#2 + mats (CF).
MSRP $27780, paid 25200+taxes and fees minus $500 bonus cash (after taxes) with 0% financing for 36 months. 7.95% taxes ~$2003, registration & fees ~$463, doc fee $400. OTD price 27566.48. Plus free windows tint (don't know if they really do anything) and free maintenance for 1yr/15K mi. Right Toyota, AZ.

They silently added "security system" for $499 and VIN etching ("registration") for $299. I was sitting with my laptop and noticed it immediately. The manager argued that etching with registration is federally mandatory and money are going to DMV, but I knew it is a lie. They removed both charges. Looks like the security system for $499 is installed (there was a sticker saying that the car on the lot is equipped with security system) and they just disabled it.

I had a car for trade in, 2000 Hyundai Elantra with low miles and in good condition, but they offered only between $1250 and $1450. Their KBB printout shows $4K+ retail, so I decided to sell it myself.

We just purchased a Blizzard Pearl, XLE with EVP#4, Fog lamps, daytime running lights, de icer, 17" Alloys, Car mats for $32,000 OTD which includes a bs dealer charge of $580 but oh well. Would have been $31,000 OTD taking the $1000 dealer cash. I worked a lot of dealers in NC and SC trying to get a XLE Limited but couldn't pull it off at the price I wanted to pay so got this which is pretty close. One thing I found out though is you can get these configured about anyway you want. I think 10's will lose a bit of value as 11's redesign come out but remember the Sienna and the Odyssey are the best selling mini's on the market so the used market will maintain. :)
  • maksakmaksak Member Posts: 3
Purchased over the weekend, 2010 Toyota Sienna LE with EVP#2, Leather trimmed seats, carpet mats and keyless entry for $26400 ($27,350 OTD). Is this a good price?
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I don't think that's factory leather, so it's hard to price that deal.

Looks like they're adding about a grand for the leather, though, so if it's good quality stuff (check the 3rd row, too), then I say go for it.
  • delthekingdeltheking Member Posts: 1,152
I just had a query. Why are folks buying the 2010 Sienna when the 2011 is coming in feb? Surely close to 30kor 26k+ for the previous model is expensive. Why not wait for the newer version? The price probably will be the same, maybe 1k-2k more as they will sell closer to MSRP than invoice. And you can bet when the 2011 Odyssey comes out the 2011 Sienna will sell at or closer to invoice. :shades:
I like the plush comfy Sienna to the Odyssey,no debate really for me-- but it helps if the redesigned Odyssey is also competitive. Helps keep Sienna`s price under check. ;)
  • ema3ema3 Member Posts: 2
In 2008, I bought a new toyota siena LE 2008, with package 1, for 24700 otd price(all taxes and fees included), very good deal, after doing my homework about pricing, etc...and a lot of negociating. All those fees that they want to charge you don't exist!!! except for dealer holdback, which is money that manufacturer pays the dealer after the car is sold."Dealer holdback is a percentage of either the MSRP or invoice price of a new vehicle (depending on the manufacturer) that is repaid to the dealer by the manufacturer".(from edmunds web site). They want to make money of you! Go to another dealer!!!
  • ema3ema3 Member Posts: 2
Couple of coments:VIN etching you could buy a kit for $25 and do it yourself.
(They were trying to make you pay for it, good you didn't fall for it). I still think "registration & fees ~$463, doc fee $400." it's too much. My doc fee, title and licence fee were about $220 when I bought my van last year.

    NCSienna-
What $1000 dealer cash are you talking about? Please share any information you have about such incentive. I have not heard or seen anywhere about this.

Someone also mentioned about $500 bonus cash in a post recently. What is this incentive? Is it in addition to $1000. Edmunds only mentions about $400 milatry bonus.

Your $32000 OTD price still looks great. I imagine from your post that you are in NC. Can you breakdown OTD price with price+TTL. OTD is really very subjective considering different states.

I have a quote for the exact same vehicle. XLE with option #4 and carpet mat, fog lamps, alloy wheels, special paint. MSRP $35005, my price is $30231 + TTL. I am not getting promotional rate of 0% though. They are saying its not possible with price and can do finance from outside bank for 3.9%. Is this good deal?

If I imagine your sales tax of NC is 5.5%. 32K OTD is still better price than mine. Can you share the dealership.
  • aan1234aan1234 Member Posts: 31
    > Couple of coments:VIN etching you could buy a kit for $25 and do it yourself.

It is actually free at the police.

    >I still think "registration & fees ~$463,

No, this is real title and registration we pay here in Arizona. This is correct, I took all the numbers from DMV site and everything matches.

    > doc fee $400." it's too much. My doc fee, title and licence fee were about $220 when I bought my van last year.

Here in Arizona almost all dealers now charge $400 doc fee. Some charge $350.
10 years ago it was $99. They are really firm on this. You can walk out but the other dealer will charge the same. All you can do is to negotiate price keeping doc fee in mind.

    Folks,
What is a good avg price to pay for the 7yr/75000 or 8yr/75000 extended warranty offered on all new vehicles?

    I am getting $800 on a 7yr/75K extended warranty...too much? just right?

    Thanks

    > Someone also mentioned about $500 bonus cash in a post recently. What is this incentive? Is it in addition to $1000. Edmunds only mentions about $400 milatry bonus.

    These are local incentives.
Here in Arizona it is 0% for 36 months + 500 bonus cash. The "bonus cash" is different from rebate - it is applied as a down payment after taxes.
  • aan1234aan1234 Member Posts: 31
    >>I still think "registration & fees ~$463,

    > No, this is real title and registration we pay here in Arizona. This is correct, I took all the numbers from DMV site and everything matches.

Just to make it clear - "registration" in Arizona includes what other states call "property tax" and charge separately.

    > Why are folks buying the 2010 Sienna when the 2011 is coming in feb?

    1. I need it now because rear-facing convertible car seat does not feed in my existing car.
    2. My wife likes more 3 seats in second row of current Sienna than in 2011 or in Odyssey.
    3. 2011 will be definitely more expensive. Most likely much more expensive for at least 6 months.
    4. Many of the new features in 2011 are great but not necessary.
    5. "Lounge seating" will not be available in LE anyway.
  • zambo2013zambo2013 Member Posts: 10
Thanks. I tried changing zip codes on edmunds and saw incentives changing. Also found $1000 cash incentive in NC region.
  • cacomixl8cacomixl8 Member Posts: 2
Just bought a 2010 Sienna XLE in the Chicago Suburbs (higher than prices elsewhere in the country I guess) with:

    EVP4
    17" Alloy
    Tow Package
    Fog Lights, Deicer
    Floor Mats

$31700 + TTL, Sticker was 35,800, Invoice was 31,979. So I paid under invoice and spent what I saved on the 6yr/75k extended for 1,000.

I think I did okay, but was definitely was difficult to pull the trigger on it with 2011s right around the corner. I bit on this deal thinking that it would be at least August before incentives and rebates would roll out to the new model, and I needed a minivan by May. My estimation was about 37,000 for an XLE with the options I have on a 2011.

    Thoughts?
  • aslovikaslovik Member Posts: 2
    Last night I paid $25,312-$500(rebate) = $24,812 + TTL for a total of $27,149.

The TTL seems outrageously high, but is the OTD price reasonable anyway?
  • jose27jose27 Member Posts: 5
I like the Toyota cars and if the prices are going up but still i will prefer the same car.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
In my local newspaper (Washington Post) they advertised a $2250 rebate for the 2010 Sienna. That would also give it a significant price advantage, especially if the MSRP on the 2011 go up.

It would be a tough call. I like the added features on the LE, but that is a lot of money, and just like you I got the big 8th seat.

Back in 2007, when I bought mine, the 2006s had a $2000 rebate, but I really wanted the 3.5l engine. I waited until the 07s had a $750 rebate and paid the extra $1250 or so.

In hindsight, I don't regret that. The engine is a gem.
