When I asked one guy whether they have any of the "new model Sienna's" in he said "oh yes sir, I have several 2010s - they are the newest" When I said "what about 2011s he said "no its only the start of 2010 sir"
Moronica!
We really tend to use it on longer trips, and there's been no whining during short errands.
Plus, I like driving at night. Our beach condo is about 3 hours away, so I leave at 8pm and get there at 11pm or so.
Pop in a movie at 8, by 10 it's done, the kids sleep, everyone's happy.
It's dark outside so there is no view whatsoever, and they'd probably be whining if we did NOT have a movie playing.
I say go for it, OEM or aftermarket like ours.
One concern I have in getting an XLE vs LE is that the moonroof will necessitate pushing back the install of the video system to a point where its pretty far back - ie 2nd row people need to crane their necks way up. I guess I just need to sit in the car and see how it looks in person.
new Odyssey will be unveiled on Feb, 10th. I hope it will put some pressure on the Sienna.
All this lower price PR stuff was just BS.
I guess if one wants to trade down to a 4-banger its the same price, and you get better (slightly) fuel economy.
Time will tell if the new "cool" design overrides the price increase. Although I want to see it in person, for me it just might.....
is this confirmed about the new Odyssey being introduced Feb 10? I thought it was coming in the fall.........
01/26/2010 - TORRANCE, Calif. -
American Honda Motor Co., Inc., will debut a concept version of the next-generation Honda Odyssey minivan at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show on February 10, the company announced today.
The next-generation Odyssey will further enhance its hallmark qualities of innovation, quality, safety and fun-to-drive character, while increasing its overall efficiency. The Odyssey, currently in its third generation, was the best-selling minivan in the United States in 2008 and 2009. It is produced from domestic and globally sourced parts by Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC in Lincoln, Alabama.
A the time a 7" screen was $600, also installed.
I had it done at Circuit City, though, and they're no longer is business. They probably did not charge enough for installations! LOL
It looks like a movie theatre screen basically, and leaves a small portion unused on either side when you're seeing one big image.
It's pretty cool, but $2 grand is a lot of cash even for a 16" screen. One of the Big Screen stores was asking that price for not one but TWO big screen TVs, a 60 something plus a 40 something.
From what I can gather on toyota.com ---> dealer (use georgia zip code) --->new inventories --->2011 Sienna, these are the information I found.

I do like the Parking Sonar on the XLE, which I am not sure if it is included in the LTD. I guess I will find out when Toyota actually have these cars in the dealers so I can go take a look with my family.
NOTE: no dvd option on the CE and LE from what I can gather on the website.
Anyhow, I am not sure how you compute the DVD wide screen to be worth 2K.
That's a pricey package.
So I'm looking at $29700 on a 2011 LE 8 passenger with no addons. I'm not sure that I can justify having a nicer dash, console, bluetooth and xm for that.
They have giving me a quote at "invoice" on a 2010 of $26,038 for LE 8 passenger with EVP#2, alloys, wiper deicer, day lights and floor mats.
We are located in KC region.
Any thoughts?
I also tried the 8th seat and while it is still better than the Ody's, it's not nearly as comfy as the 2010 8 seater (20" wide vs. about half that). If you use that a lot that alone would push me towards a bargain on a 2010.
3rd complaint - the 3rd row no longer can be positioned for tailgate seating.
Despite those 3 complaints I still really liked it. The interior design is much more modern. The outboard 2nd row seats are comfier. There are a lot of new features available, some at a lower price (3 zone climate std).
The 2nd row is to DIE for, but you have to be 5'2" or shorter to use the leg rests. The kids will love napping during trips, put it that way.
Crowds were all over it at the DC auto show, but they crowded the Ody as well.
The huge DVD screen is clever, and the low profile doesn't block the rear view.
Love the new rims, and the styling is improved IMHO.
Still a tough call. Do you really need that 8th seat often?
Perhaps I will eat my words and this van will bowl me over when I see it and I'll pay sticker just to make sure I "get one now" before they're "all gone", but I will try to calm down and remind myself and the dealer
1) Princeton plant will be pumping these things out now
2) Last I looked, economy is still weak and people are still losing jobs.
3) New Sienna is nice but its price has risen, and Honda is announcing new Odyssey next week
4) There is some little noise in the news about some recalls or something for Toyotas I think
Oh and this is a MINIVAN - I know the salesman is excited (because you're excited) but if you can play it cool hopefully there is some negotiating to be had......
at least that is my hope - hopefully I'm right and can find a dealer somewhere willing to sell me one
Did you check with Crown Toyota in Lawrence? Jacob is the internet sales guy there and he gave me my best quote from all the KC area dealers and was willing to work with me. They have the 8 passenger in stock.
Good luck (tell him Husker92 sent you).
If any toyota dealers are demanding MSRP for this 2011 Sienna, I will walk away...
I have family to feed also and I am sure not going to pay MSRP no matter how excited or loyal I am about this 2011 Sienna.
All those pre-sales of 2011 Siennas at sticker+dealer premium must have saved them from an even weaker performance...........:)
darn greedy dealers - just sell me the car for 500 over invoice and move on - you still make 500 bucks plus you can get me on my trade in too!
1) 20% of dealers try to charge above MSRP. It's their right to do that, but its our right to name and shame them
2) 60% won't deal, and its MSRP
3) 20% will give a deal. given we've heard $500 - $1500 over invoice, if you're hearing a $1000 above invoice you'll be in the zone
I think you're going to get deals in large metro areas where there are say 30 dealers within 75 miles.
BTW looks like the proverbial sheeet keeps hitting Toyota's fan....
Keep in mind most of theirs are loaded up.
I don't think we're going to find much lower than these anywhere. Good guide price for all of us...
If I read it correct. The "internet price" is always $600 above invoice, so that has to be the target price we want.
The price for "2011 Sienna LE 8-Passenger FWD" with "Towing Prep Option"is $28,448
As per Edmund Invoice Price with options: $26444 + $176 = $26620
The diff is: 28448 - 26620 = $1828.00
Is edmunds invoice price is incorrect OR I am missing some thing here?
Great find man - information is a friend for all of us! I didn't look too closely to this Fitz to see if its a nationwide service, but in any case, it gives an idea of what one dealer is advertising INITIALLY (without further negotiation that is)
I've bought a couple of cars there and they are the real deal, very honest and straight forward folks. It's no-haggle, though, so don't expect to drop the price by $50, they simply won't.
For 2011-Sienna-LE-FWD:
edmund Invoice Price is: 26,444 (if I add 800 = 27244..still about 1000 difference)
zag.com: 28.129
I am not sure which one is correct OR close? Any other source shows Invoice price?
I seem to remember that sometimes on invoice price on cars from many years ago that sometimes there's often some BS region advertising charge on the invoice price.
Price $28,353.00
Fees $699.99
Sub Total $29,052.99 + TT
Just curious as to why its "tempting"......because you've tried a bunch of other dealers and nobody will go lower? or because its a discount (any discount!) below sticker?
In the good old days (I haven't bought a new car for 5 years) one would look at dealer profit over invoice, and generally 3% was a fair profit. You're at about 7%.
I haven't begun searching for prices here in Chicago, as I still need to drive one of these puppies, so don't take my questions as criticism - I am truly curious. For all I know I'll find all the dealers here sticking to MSRP.......
First of all there is a correction to my quote:
Price $28,353.00 - $481 = $27,872 ($481 for Toyoguard Plus Protection Group – which I am thinking to say NO)
Dealer Fees $700.00
Sub Total $28,571.00 + TT
I think I should control my desire until I see “invoice price” at some other websites. As per edmund’s invoice price (26,444 + 800 = 27,244) your analysis is correct. But as per Amex/Zag the invoice price is $28,129, my quote is ONLY $442 above Invoice price. That is the reason I am tempted.
The 2nd reason is, fitzmall.com sells at lowest price and the lowest internet price is $28607 (my quote is just $36 more than fitzmall.com nationwide low price).
Bottom line is we need to know if the Edmund’s invoice price is correct or not?
Anyone one knows any other source for Invoice price.
I am concerned about the differences in quoted invoice. We need to track this down. Of course, I tend to believe Edmunds only because its lower, and I have a hunch, like the other poster, that the higher number includes "regional advertising fees", "dealer fees" or whatever other junk they can throw in.
We need someone on the inside who can confirm which invoice is correct.
I havent taken the time to look, but is the MSRP on the Amex/Zag site the same as Edmunds? If so, then I am much MORE suspect as the spread between invoice and sticker is pretty thin, and therefore I am less trusting of the inflated invoice.
interested in your quote above and I hadn't heard of this Fitzmall before yesterday. You make it sound like a fact that Fitzmall always sells at the lowest price and therefore can be used as a "floor" in our thinking.....I'm sure its a good reference for a "reasonable" internet price but are we taking it a step too far to say that it is by default the lowest price, ie no dealer will sell for lower?
