and were settled in Dallas. We already had a HB car in the family, so a fun coupe was OK. Still, at the time the 810 was our main car, and we did a number of x-country trips (to NY, FL, CO, etc) in it. Of course, we were much younger then!
a quick question on the Chrome tips to your exhaust. Do you have to modify the ends so the Chrome tips fit in or did the Chrome tips make it in without any modification ?
I would like to know where you bought the Chrome tip from & which one it is.
actually came off during my ride on Splash Mountain...I was very sad . Will probably get another one eventually. The day we shot this photo, it was in the forties in Disney...cold even by Florida standards for daytime.
No mods required at all. The tips fit right over top the exhaust pipe.

In retrospect, I should have trimmed the muffler tip slightly in order to reduce the trajectory of the chrome tip...ie. so it was slightly more horizontal. But at the time, I was not in the mood to get under the car with a hack-saw.
Well here is the pics. of the carport I built, First photo is a mockup of how I origionally concieved building it. As you can see the finished product is pretty faithful to what I origionally drew up.
Juice I built it from scratch there was no roof. This is a Co-Op so the only property line is on the perimeter of the property . There is a 4" separation between the carport ant the house next door to conform to city fire regulations. BTW. the Titan really earned his keep on this project, most of the materials were transported either on the roof or inside the car.
I will have to really give him a good clean in and out, I have been so busy I have not even got my summer wheels on yet.
I could add a door I suppose but the width is limited enough. And no thank you, no more big projects I'm afraid, my rocky state of health says this one was more than enough.

I actually considered that car when I bought my '91 Escort GT. I didn't have an upgraded engine, though, so I went with the DOHC 1.8l in the Ford, which was actually a Mazda powertrain (from the Protoge). But I wanted a hatch and the Protoge only came as a sedan.
Had Mazda put the DOHC 1.8l engine in that little hatchback I'd probably have owned one.
When it comes to taking pics. Lord Snowdon I ain't LOL. The colour is Tropical Emerald, sounds exotic EH!. Apparently a lot of kids buy these little cars and the first swap is a DOHC swap. I hear it is a dead easy swap.
Even in standard form it is a fun little car to toss around, the thing is like a little go cart. The GTX swap is also big on these, they are being imported from Japan big time. There are all sorts of web sites devoted to hepping these little cars up.
I just bought the OB XT Ltd. I checked the exhuast tip at canadian tire online, they don't have one. Can you pls tell me the brand, dimensions - inlet, outlet ? I really like yours. Any specifics you can provide would be helpful.
BTW, did you also use the Sealant Glaze? Two coats of that on top of your AIO and the shine is just incredible. Rather than follow the printed instructions, try the WOWO method mentioned in the Autopia detailing forums. You simply wipe on the Sealant Glaze and wipe off before letting it dry.
I can see the photos now. Great job with the detailing.
Did you use one layer of SG? Many experienced Klasse buffs say that the real benefits show up after the 2nd coat. I tried it on my Legacy last week and lo and behold, it did make a noticeable difference.
The WOWO method makes it a lot less time consuming too.
I had a breakthrough with the Klasse wax yesterday. Did a coat of cleaner wax, then followed with the sealant. While laboriously buffing out the sealant haze, I was lamenting that it always took an additional wash for the sealant to really shine up (I think the wash blends out the brush stroke effect the sealant can have). Well, then it hit me -- why not buff with a damp cloth?? So that's what I did, wipe with a damp microfiber towel and then immediately follow with a dry one, panel by panel. This has resulted in the best shine I have seen yet from Klasse, and it was also much easier to take the haze off. The car has that "glass" look now that I didn't normally get until the first wash, and also has that rich varnished feel Klasse gives.

I've thought about putting some lattice on the side of mine so the wind dies down a bit. I end up getting leaves blown into my car port and back yard.
Mine is open on 3 sides, 1 side is up against the house. The back has a 4" fence for the dog, but it's mostly open.

That's a light car so even with the 125hp DOHC 1.8l from the Protege it would have been fun. I think it got 106hp stock?
