I emailed several dealers in the Portland, OR area for a quote on an EX-L with NAV & RES. Since my wife wants the midnight blue pearl, or choices are narrowed quite a bit, though I did have two dealers come back with $30,187 (includes destination, but not TTL). One has the van right now, the other involves waiting a few weeks. I think this is a really good price from what I've read, especially considering we're looking for a very specific color.
I'd also like them to install the Honda subwoofer, and was quoted $525 for an installed price. This seems a bit steep to me. Is there much room for negotiation with add-on equipment such as the subwoofer or the factory wireless headphones for the rear entertainment system?

I talked to a few dealers and confirmed that some dealers are offering 2000 incentive. The best price I got for EX-L RES is 28104 + taxes + DEST + other fees. Has any one found a better deal in NJ area? I will definitely like to get my hand on new ODY with 2K less and the best price possible. Any help will be appreciated. -Ty

I'm in Southeastern VA and have made a deal on EX-L RES for $28,150. I think this is good deal. My dealer said he would match any price around. And their processing fees are only $99 which is a bargain compared to some of the rip-offs out there. Also they are going to get the color I want. Good luck everybody. Note* this price includes the $2,000 incentive.

Good show af1914! I bought yesterday as well, just "down the street" at South Bay Honda in Los Gatos. I paid $27700+TTL for my Nimbus Grey EX-L RES. So you beat me by $162 - well done!

I negotiated a Silver Touring w/ NAV & DVD through the internet at $34, 750 which includes destination charge. The internet guy also threw in the Lo Jack security system for free, which he says has a $995 value. He was gonna give me 4.99% financing as well. What do you guys think? Here's the breakdown.
    Price - $34,750
    Warranty - 7yrs/100k $1895 (seems high)
Lo Jack - free (value at $995)
    Pro Pack - $495
    CA Tax $2871.41
    Lic $302.75
    DOC/DMV $55

All. this is no BS. The prices for the Odyssey have plummeted w/ the new incentives. you can get the prices below if you stick to your guns.

EXL 26200 + Tax Title Plates
EXL RES 27600 + Tax Title Plates
EXL RES NAV 29500 + Tax Title Plates

    Thanks for the insight CJ31

They still tried to rip me off, but I stuck to my guns and got my price!!!!!!

Also, if there are any dealer installed items already on the car (ie, wheel locks, pin stripe, mud flaps, …) offer the dealer 50% of the list price and they will probably give in….

Bought an EXL from Sherwood Honda with no additional options
    car price: 26260 including destination
    tag transfer fee/title: $75

The sales person is friendly and professional. I don't like the finance manager though. Because the deal can't be combined with financing, the finance manager offered me a higher rate than what I can get from my credit union.
The finance manager also charged about $100 government doc stamp fee. My credit union said they don't charge any fee. I am not sure if this fee can be covered by the profit the finance manager made. What's your experience? I could back out and come back later with a loan from my credit union. I thought I should give the dealer some additional profit given that the dealer offered me a good price first. But at that point, I just wanted to finish the deal.

I would negotiate financing details before coming to dealers the next time I buy a car.

This Forum has been very helpful.

The sales person I dealt with didn't respond to my initial query even though I specially stated that I would like to do business with them because I bought my other car there and like their service department.

And the person doesn't seem to be eager to win my business even after seeing offers from other dealers.

I ended up buying one from another dealer. A good way to lose a customer.

    Hi,

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have confirmed from dealers in Omaha and Lincoln Nebraska and KC that the $2000 factory to dealer incentive is in place here. They also seem quite willing to pass it on.

    Hi,

Does anyone know if there is much wiggle room in email offers received from dealers or are they usually pretty firm on this price?

The best OTD price for an EXL I have gotten is $27,284 + TTL. I was hoping to pay invoice minus the $2000 incentive (28,600 - 2000 = $26,600). Is this reasonable?

    Thanks for any input.

Hi everyone. I am seeking a bit of advice on getting Internet quotes. I searched for this info on the Edmunds homepage but couldn't find anything. Any help is really appreciated.
This will be my first time buying a new vehicle and it seems the Internet is the best way to go once you decide on a model. I live in the Atlanta area with many dealers to choose from. Should I e-mail each dealer separately asking for their best drive out price including any dealer fees? Also, we plan on trading in so how is this handled via the Internet?
Are the quotes the dealers send negotiable, or is it really their best price?
Also, it appears that the cash rebate I've been reading of isn't available here. Would it be best for us to wait until next month to make our puchase?
Thanks very much for any advice.
  • intradeintrade Member Posts: 11
Here in Orlando, dealers are not willing to combine the cash incentive and low finance APR.

I got a quote for EX Out the door price for ($24584+TTL) $26725 (everything included), if I want to do 60 months financing the lowest APR will be 6.34% (with credit score higher than 720), this means my monthly payment will be $528.41.

If I want the 4.9%, then the price for the same car will be $28300, in this case my monthly payment will be $532.76

The difference is only $4, I see no advantage at all, unless you have enough cash to pay.

Has anyone in Florida be able to get the cash incentives and low finance APR
  • connors1connors1 Member Posts: 3
you might want check out o'donnell in md. they had the lowest price and only a $99 doc fee. i think they're close to dc too.
  • atlantaalatlantaal Member Posts: 3
$2000 is definitely available in Atlanta area, but it cannot be combined with the 2.9/4.9 APR financing.

Van price is very negotiable. Destination, fees tax and licensing are not. I requested quotes from all metro Atlanta dealers; 12 responded. Do it all by email (phone when you are close). I sent some through dealer websites, some through honda.com and some through edmunds.

Beat em up on price - they are eager to get the 07s off the lot. Make sure you clarify the drive-out price - most will throw in a few gotcha accessories.

Here's basically what I paid last weekend for an 07 ex-l.

$25,692.00 Includes Splash Guards, Wheel Locks, Cargo Tray, Paint Sealant
    + $595 Destination Charge
+ 399.00 Processing and Prep fees
    + 1,868 Sales tax - 7%
    + 21.00 Registration
    $28,575 TOTAL

Once you get the van offer, print it out, make an appointment and head in. They won't talk trade until you visit the dealer, so come prepared to haggle on it.

At least THREE Atlanta area dealers were willing to MATCH this price. I think you might be able to go even lower - especially if you play hardball with the trade.

Top to bottom GREAT buying experience, and a decent deal to boot on a great van. Thanks to everyone in the Odyssey forum.
  • georgiagirlgeorgiagirl Member Posts: 17
Thanks so much for the info. I didn't realize the $2K is good in Atl. I didn't see it mentioned on any of the dealer websites I visited last night. I only saw the APR deal. I will be financing so which would be my best bet? I can get financing through USAA w/ a rate of %5.9.
Did you have to haggle much with the price you were quoted via e-mail?
    Thanks again.

The incentive seems to be a manufacturer to dealer incentive - so none of the dealers will mention it. Go with USAA on the financing - I put a bunch down with very good credit, and the best they could offer was 5.99.

Once you start getting quotes, start haggling via email. Tell em you know about the incentive, so you need their best price or you'll move on. Every time I got a response and asked a question, the price dropped. Once they started being reasonable I started returning their phone calls. If you don't care about color, I bet you can come very close to 25000 + destination + fees + tax/title/lemon law fee for an 07 ex-l.

Once they get to your price and you understand what dealer added accessories are on the van, then tell them what color you want, ask if they can have it ready tomorrow and get some research on your trade. Edmunds, Autotrader.com, cars.com, etc can give you a ballpark. Go ahead and get a quote from Carmax, too.

    Have fun!
  • atlantaalatlantaal Member Posts: 3
Good price, but I bet you can do better, depending on how many EX-Ls are on their lot and others around your area.

They need to get them off the lot so the 08s can be brought in, which won't have nearly the discount.

An earlier post suggested 26200. Stick to your guns and you might be able to beat that price.

    Hi
Thank you for your information. I am in bay area and trying to buy an Odyssey EX-L RES. Is your price of $27,538 inclusive of destination charges, document fee, etc? What other charges did you pay on top of $27, 538?

    Thanks
  • af1914af1914 Member Posts: 5
The price included destination charge, but not TTL, so total OTD was $30121. I financed the car with no money down, but my APR is 6.49%. You're not eligible for the special rate with the $2000 as you know I'm sure. I made sure from the dealer that there were no financing fees or any other weird advertising fees.
  • af1914af1914 Member Posts: 5
The vehicle is pretty much fully loaded except for the Navigation. It is very nice and has all the fixins. Honda does not give you a choice on options. You can still finance the car with the rebate, but you won't get the 2.9% APR. I'm going through the dealer so the APR is 6.49%. I made sure there were no finance fees or any other weird fees by doing so. You could try Eloans.com which has a 5.99% APR.

But you know, I asked the salesman and he said he'd be willing to sell to anyone at this price. Email me for more info: af1914 at gmail dot com.

    Good luck!
  • af1914af1914 Member Posts: 5
That's the best price I've ever heard of for this car, and I just got mine the other day in the Bay Area for $27,538 which to me was about as low as any dealer around was willing to go. I would take that in a heartbeat unless you think you can shop it around to other dealers, but don't be surprised if you get no takers.

    Hello!!

I am interested in a EX-L that is brand new, but got ran into by a drunk driver on the dealership lot. They will not budge on the price too much, but other dealers said they should be taking a price cut because it was damaged, though repaired be honda. What realistic price should we pay for an EX-L that had front damage repaired, but it is brand new, never titled.

    Thanks so much
  • diexodosdiexodos Member Posts: 4
Today I am closing on a cash transaction for an EX-L with RES for a sale price $27181, $275 (documentation fee and license)for an OTD price of $27481 plus taxes.
I could have gotten a similar deal in Chicago for around $26700 but local deal promises free tires , etc, etc. Who knows what the best deal is. Basically, it seems that any price around $3000 below invoice is a good price.
  • biofreaks3biofreaks3 Member Posts: 5
I finally decided on getting a Touring w/ NAV & DVD. Final price breakdown was:
    Sale Price - $33,600 + TTL
    8yr/120k warranty with zero deductible - $1500
    Lo jack - $500
    Protection Pack - $500

This was the lowest price I could get. I had 2 dealers, Grace Honda in San Bruno and Serramonte Honda in Daly City go back and forth with the price until one couldn't beat the other's price (went with Grace Honda). I had no need for the LoJack but the dealer had to make a profit somehow. The internet guy is willing to compromise and work with your needs. This is the 2nd time I've negotiated deals in the internet, and have been satisfied each time.

1st time user. Was looking for used odyssey when sales guy over the phone said he can get me good deal on 07 odyssey. he came back with 25000 all in including tax and fees. tax is 5% in MA, doc fees is 200. Is that a good price. Expecting twins in Jan 08, should I hold out for a better offer?
